I am relatively new to this game and my pc is not the best but it works fine in pve.
Frustratingly many quests require that I play in pvp to progress.
I am being teamed up and against experienced players who for a better word are humiliating to play with/against.
Such players have taken time to learn and practice the game and congrats to them all.
However I am not there yet or may never be but would like to ENJOY the game competing against other players still coming up the ranks.
The fairest way would be to rank players progress on their efficiency and rewards should be in line with a players rank.
At the moment I get many items per match regardless if I kill zero or 10 players. Regardless if I win or loose the match.
Also at the moment I am a burden to a team getting killed a lot more than kills I score. I’m sure many of us have been here before but it’s NOT good game play that could be easily adjusted.
Also if a player is capable of killing 20+ players the reward needs to reflect this provided the achievement has been with equally skilled players and not new players being nothing more than bullet catchers.
So currently the matching system does not consider new players, players who may be physically or mentally challenged, players who can not afford a high spec system.
It also does not respect experienced players who deserve a decent challenge with a decent reward and title to be respected and fought over.

23 RepliesI'll give it to you straight unlike other people on this forum. SBMM matches people that are equal to your skill level. CBMM matches you with anyone, anywhere, at any skill level. So with CBMM you will be facing people that spend their lives in crucible. With SBMM you are most likely to get matched with people that want to have fun.

New add to Dictionary Destiny Meaning of Destiny is to recycle

Participation trophies are what ruin games. Just take a look at cod. SBMM makes multiplayer almost unplayable. There should be a “boot camp” for newer players to play each other or just play comp

@Dazzer I empathize with you. Being playing Density 2 from the beginning. We agree, Seasonal weapon milestones and quests should not go through the PVP content, except for New Light (New Players in about in level 4 or 11) to get the introduction to what the crucible game mode. If PVP players want to grind and special weapons for PVP more power to them. But these weapons should be brought in PVP matches where the other players have the same weapons. It's a big disadvantage for New Light Players or even average vet player as myself to play or compete with other players with higher meta damaging weapons. To level your exceptions, I can only count the number of games on my hands where I was fortunate to get 15+ full right kills in a match (non assist kills) and about the same number of balanced teams games (not related to my kill stats) in the Crucible. Many tips that @pacificdune provided are good tips to live by while in crucible, PVE and Raids. There are good youtube videos on this subject. But since season 8, we've found Crucible not a fun place to stay in. We only go in to try to complete the dreaded PVP milestone to unlock the rest of the seasonal story line quest then get out. We've just found the PVP contents very shady and questionable kills. e.g. get killed by a shotgun from long range, sniped by a Jade Rabbit while under cover (through two walls), spawn killed by a Mountain Top from a player control point C while re-spawning on control point A, double hunter dodging to cover from a Warlock's Flaming Sword (missed me by 10m or 30ft) or Warlock's Noval Bomb Chasing Me around the map (only died when it catch up with me). Dodging and running through a maze of cover and walls didn't save me. In theory, fight in a pack should give your team an advantage, but I've found that but 50% of the equation the rest is luck. Being in scrimmages 1vs6, where my fire team are team shooting and the solo player downs most or all my fire team with little effort (usually with one shot). (It's like our 97% critical hits and emptying are clips into the solo player does not mean anything.) If we run into the same situation again, that solo player only falls once our whole team falls. Bungie said this shouldn't happen, by to keeps happening. Bungie also said shared servers are also good for PVP content, instead of expensive of Dedicated Servers. @Dazzer, please continue advocating for Bungie to stop putting Season Quests steps into the PVP content. For players who love the PVE Content will love it even more and for those who love PVP Content can hone their skills with liked skilled players without PVE "bullet catchers". Guardian Out.

Edited by pacificdune: 7/4/2020 1:40:37 PMYou have stumbled into a raging debate currently on this and other forums regarding skill based matchmaking. It was turned off for season 11. There are many opinions, but I will argue that SBMM only teaches you bad habits, and only benefits bad players who do not want to improve, to the detriment of everyone else. As for you, you can still contribute while you are learning, and I don’t mind having you on my team. Stay close to your teammates, team shoot, watch your map, stay near cover, disengage when you are behind in a fight, don’t peek twice use a different angle. Don’t feed kills to the enemy. Many people don’t really know what they are doing in this game. It is not hard to be average. With a little work your skills and stats will improve and you will have a better experience. Also, it seems counterintuitive, but play comp. it is 3v3 with skill matchmaking, and much less chaotic than 6v6.

1 ReplyBro I've got a friend that can only play with one hand and he still does pretty good in the crucible. Lol
