Furthermore since Luke Smith said at the shadowkeep reveal that he wants destiny two within two years, he wants the game to become an action MMO. The thing about MMO games reset constantly happens. You have a new level you have to work on and New gear to acquire/MMO standard model. This is the same model games like Anthem Borderlands and other MMO games follow.
Even recently division 2 follows the same model when we finally got the chance to hit a new max level thanks to warlords of New York expansion we actually had to regrind for everything.
We had to get new weapons new armor we had to make new builds. We had to acquire other exotics and dismantle them so we can upgrade our favorite exotics up to the new level cap.
yes it sucks that everything was reset but we were able to become even more powerful division agents.
Just like with Borderlands 3 when we got a new level cap first was increased by 3 then a few months increased by 7 it sucked that we had to regrind but we got better weapons and armor to make even more stronger builds.
Bungie actually wants Destiny to be just like those kind of games that every year or so maybe every six months we have a new level cap and then we have to regrind for weapons and armor...
that is the definition of a looter shooter you kill enemies to get new gear and the gear helps you to progress towards a level goal...
that's what the majority of players want they want things to chase they want a reason to play. The current model of Destiny we have right now we do not have a reason to continue to play after we hit max level and max out the season rank.
it's the reason why Bungie decided to change the Pinnacle system a little bit it's the same reason why bungee said that they are going to remove weekly stuff and add an activity where you get a crap load of XP that helps you with your seasonal rank instead of doing weekly bounties.
I mean hell bungie even said they decided to revert back to forsaken where they will no longer remove old content from previous seasons.
I know your topic was about reset but you need to understand if Bungie is going to become a MMO style game you have to expect change, you have to expect that every season you may have to get new gear. I mean really even if there wasn't a reset what else do you have to do in the game that's all you have is to level up grind and get better gear...
Don't expect some new raid or new campaign Bungie doesn't have money to maintain this franchise...
do you not know the only reason we got the outbreak prime quest is because of the whisper of the worm ornament microtransactions sale.... the funds for that quest did not even come from bungie's wallet it came from players... Bungie is simply not making enough revenue that's the main reason why Activision left... Oh yeah I'm sure I mean sunset.

Sick to death of people saying that weapon retirement happening to D2 is the same as BL3 level increases because it ain't. You literally won't be able to use the same old weapons when weapon retirement happens in D2 as the weapons will no longer be achievable at a higher light meanwhile BL3 you literally can farm the exact same weapon you had but at the highest level at that time instead of completely replacing it with a new and different weapon.

Okay well good for you that you don't care about Anthem or division 2. You need to grow up and accept people's opinions. just because you don't like something does not mean that it cannot be used as an example to persuade someone on an argument statement. like it or not games like Anthem and division 2 fits in the same genre as Destiny 2. All of these games are part of action MMO.. If you actually watch the first Shadowkeep reveal, you would know that Luke Smith said that his plan is to slowly turn Destiny 2 into an action MMO.... In other words he wants to turn this game into games like Anthem and division 2... I literally gave you an outline of a compare contrast and you still argue that I'm wrong or whatever. You honestly seem like you haven't even finished the eighth grade.
-
Grow up? All I said was that I did not care for Anthem nor Division 2. Did I shit on you for bringing it up? No. Did I say that I don't care for them because I was bringing up BL3 and BL3 only? Yes
-
I'm sure you wear those people doesn't matter how many times I tell you something you're going to say oh you're wrong oh you're wrong like a middle schooler. Let me try this for you a simple outline: Anthem new gear level - every six months a new gear score - you have to reach the max gear score in order to do higher difficulty activities to get better stuff - new legendaries - you have to reacquire old legendaries or use new legendaries to redo builds Division 2 new gear level - every 6 months to a year New gear score - sometimes new exotics which are equivalent to legendaries in Destiny - you have to regrind for max level gear in order to do harder difficulties like heroic and legendary in order to get stronger better stat gear similar to Destiny. it's similar because players do actually try to farm for the same gear to get better stats. However in division 2 you have choices you can either farm or you can use materials to reroll stuff such as high-end gear or even exotics. Here's the one you're very confused about: Borderlands 3 new gear level - every 4 to 6 months a new level cap - we get new legendaries - in order to be able to do mayhem for again or mayhem 2.0 you have to reach the max level and have gear either at max level or close to max level in order to do harder difficulties - you can either go out and get the same gear you like to use or get new gear - similar to Destiny borderlands 3 has anointments which is equivalent to what Destiny has with mods in terms of the artifact where some mods you can use it to benefit your weapons or sometimes your armor... Destiny 2 seasonal new power cap - every 4 months new power level - sometimes new legendaries and new exotics - you have to reach the highest par level that you can possibly reach in order to do harder difficulties to get somewhat better gear - sometimes we get better mods that we can make builds from the whole theme right here is you have a max level to reach, you get better gear so you can do higher difficulties sometimes to get better rewards. that is the model that all these games follow in terms of an MMO model. that is what I'm simply trying to tell you because if you look at this outline you will see similarities... if you don't know what kind of outline this is its basically a compare and contrast outline so you can see the similarities and the differences... each of these games I am a hardcore player of I always hit max level including Anthem whenever there is a new level gear score to reach.... Believe it or not Anthem still has over a hundred thousand players who still play the game whenever there is a new gear score to reach. Sadly Anthem has more content than Destiny. something that Anthem has that Destiny could definitely use is the ability to craft legendaries. The same model that division 2 has I'm not some random guy talking about nonsense I'm talking about stuff from personal experience...
-
You do realize a level increase in borderlands 3 you have to get new gear... You have to make new builds.... The same model happens to division 2 and Anthem. Similar thing happens in Destiny 2 in terms of mods seasonal and in the artifact... Again standard mmo model...
-
You should not use the words weapons retirement... That would imply you would no longer be able to use them...
-
1. I do not care about Division 2 nor Anthem, i brought up BL3 2. You can use the same gear in BL3, all you have to do is farm a higher level variant as it's still the same equipment just lower leveled 3. I will use weapon retirement as they will be unusable for endgame activities. Sure you can still use them in lower light stuff but 9/10 of important things are endgame light level 4. Nice insult about my reading abilities, I'll have you know i can read the Cat in the Hat with only 2 mistakes
-
Please learn some proper reading comprehension... I do not say the Borderlands weapon reset is the same as Destiny 2... I said video games like borderlands 3 Anthem and division 2 follows a MMO standard model. You get a new power gear cap/level then you have to regrind for gear to get powerful again. Destiny 2 is starting to follow a similar model...in destiny 2 we have a new power cap each season then you have to get new gear or infusion old gear if they are acceptable for the new mods... also the weapon system in destiny is nowhere close to what it is in borderlands 3... Example in borderlands 3 we have anointments, we use anointments to make builds...

My Agent is anything but powerful. Massive is utterly useless when it comes to balancing games and do not have a solid plan on future progress. You get a build, they nerf something, you then have to regrind, they then nerf something else, you have to regrind, they nerf yet another thing. The vicious cycle goes on. The carrot on the stick gets tedious. It’s not worth chasing the carrot. And in turn makes players lose interest, have the fun drained out of them and then they move into other games. Hence why I now play Destiny. If these a-holes are gonna do the same then I’m done with MMO’s. It’s a waste of my time. If I wanted new gear and weapons I’d play a different game. Taking stuff outta the game to make way for the same stuff with different picture is lazy game design. The only persons it benefits is the artists. It keeps them employed.
-
Yeah man you probably shouldnt lists anthem as an example
-
Well that's the kind of person I am I care about stuff. When I care about stuff I'm passionate about it. Just like how most people are when they care about something and they love it they would defend it. They will talk about it constantly and they will show that they care. Ex if there was no people that care about destiny 2 when it first came out we wouldn't have the way destiny 2 is right now being a hardcore game when there is actual content. don't you remember at launch at destiny 2 the game became so casual that every hardcore player left the game... It took bungee 6 months to fix it after every player gave bungee feedback because they cared
-
Yes I'm a three different replies because what you are saying is Ludacris... just because you don't like a video game you think it's bad you think it should have be an example when clearly the game has over still a hundred k followers... I play the game every six months every time they have a new power increase... i max out all of the characters I have multiple builds for grandmaster 3 I am a hardcore anthem player... I used to be a hard core Destiny 1 player
-
You care way too much man
-
also anthem was not the only example I used I use Borderlands 3 as an example and I use division two as an example...
-
Did really just make 3 seperate replies
-
Furthermore the reason why I used anthem as an example is because every six months they upgrade the power gear score. Six months ago it was 915 now it's 960. Yes I play anthem I play every time they upgrade the power level. something that Bungie can do from anthem is the fact that you are able to use in-game coin currency to buy legendaries and they also have a system where you do certain activities you get a token and you can craft legendaries.you may think anthem is bad but even though there's only maybe a few hundred thousand players left in the game BioWare still tries to make it better. At least anthem has content versus destiny.... at least BioWare like Ubisoft they see their community as every individual who plays their game unlike bungee who only sees our community as twitch streamers .. BioWare has the money to make another anthem game bungee does not have the money to make another Destiny game keep that in mind... They can't even maintain this game...
-
You do realize there are still about a hundred thousand people who still play anthem right... There was even talk for next-gen that there's going to be an anthem 2.0 reboot called anthem beyond... just because you don't like a game doesn't mean it can't be used as an example because like it or not anthem is a MMO style game...
