The quests to earn all of the pinnacle weapons took longer than most exotic quests. They shouldn't be sunsetted.
I'm ok with the sunsetting of the other legendary weapons. I'll miss my Blast Furnace, Bygones, Spare Rations, Mindbender's, Beloved, but I know there will be good new weapons to earn.
Reddrix, Mountaintop, Recluse, Luna's Howl, Not Forgotten, Revoker, 21% Delerium, Breakneck, Hush, Loaded Question, Oxygen, Wendigo
The pinnacle weapons are trophies that hold a special place in our hearts
Please don't sunset them.

and gambit prime/ reckoning weapons were the worst grinds in the game and they will be going bye bye as well but it allows bungie to get rid of problem weapons or go to weapons with no effort on their part so how do you see it going?
-
1 ReplyMake them exotic. Would solve more than one problem
-
Making them exotics would solve a lot of problems
-
Agreed
-
Bump.
-
3 RepliesIs everyone missing the real reason Bungie is doing this? They will make us grind for the weapons again! It’s shameless tactics by this company. They have gotten lazy and this is a way to increase play time again.
-
This game is trash
-
3 RepliesThe thing is, they want to do the hole retirement thing BECAUSE of pinnacle weapons. Bygones is strong, sure, also spare, mindbenders, etc... HOWEVER they are not the main reason The main season is that no matter how much they nerf recluse mountaintop delirium Randi they will stay relevant and much better than future guns A good solution could be making old pinnacles exotics. That way they respect the time put into getting them

Edited by Erijian: 3/5/2020 9:00:45 PMPretty sure pinnacle weapons are one of the main reasons for sunsetting our Legendaries in the first place. The majority of them have been or still are balancing nightmares.
-
Just make them exotics imo
-
Sunsetting a great idea if done right properly. I'm sick of using those weapons because they exemplify power fantasy and I want other legendaries with new Pinnacle-like perks. Its a great way for Bungie to better implement loot like that. It keeps one weapon from being too problematic for too long if at all. Now, if Bungie fails to capitalize, its another story. And if anyone wants be pessimistic, that's their choice, they can stop playing any time. Encouraging better endgame loot should always be a practice amongst a community. Pidgeonholing yourself to some shitty little outlaw/rampage Blast Furnace that took you 5 months to grind when you CLEARLY could have saved tons of time getting one of the vastly superior Pinnacles isn't going to help the state of loot going forward. Its those players that are problematic to the loot system. Becayse if Bungie did make more Pinnacle-like perks, they'd raid the forums complaining because everyone won't PUG with them because they choose to handicap themselves so severely.

2 RepliesPinnacle weapons took longer to earn than exotics? I still don't have 1K. I have all pinnacle/ritual weapons besides the first version of Redrix (didn't bother with it and played Warframe for that point in time).
-
I got my Redrix yesterday, if they touch it i'm out of this crap. There is 0 reasons to touch pinnacles, Mindbenders and spare rations aren't pinnacles and they spam in every crucible.
-
5 RepliesDon’t worry. They’re going to make you regrind those weapons. That’s the point of all this.
-
1 ReplyDont worry... exotics guns and armor will get the same treatment in time... then we will have about 3 of each to choose from during any given season. Sounds fun, right!?
-
4 RepliesPinnacles weapons never should have been a thing.
-
Agree
-
3 Replies
but I know there will be good new weapons to earn.
Nah there won't.. If we got good new weapons to earn why would they cap our old ones?
-
2 RepliesEdited by Cinderchar: 3/4/2020 3:10:13 PM
but I know there will be good new weapons to earn.
You'll just be farming a new Mindbenders simply because the old one is capped, not because the new one has these mythical amazing new perks. It might look slightly different and have a new name, but it will still be the same quickdraw/snapshot weapon you already have but with a higher cap.

I am a year one player that came back after a two year break. I left early in Destiny 2 because the new weapons were just boring to use. I really enjoy the game now, and grinding for pinnacle weapons, and chasing god rolls, is the reason I got hooked again. However, I do not agree with the changes to Iron Banner, and the cap on pinnacle weapons people hard earned. In my opinion, this would be taking a step back again. Hopefully they can figure something out.

Edited by Lord Magris: 3/5/2020 8:05:18 AMI'd be fine keeping the power cap away from them if they were turned into exotics or something. They're a big part of the reason that lots of players don't care about other legendary loot because they're as unique/strong as exotics, but they're not exotics so the same limits don't apply to them. Might as well let us run around with multiple exotic weapons equipped at once if it's left completely alone. That's what the majority of activities are like right now, most notably the Crucible.
-
Funny thing is, most of the people traded wins or bought those “hard earned” pinnacle weapons and yet they’re still complaining smh. Probably going to get a lot of hate for this
-
You spelled ritual weapons wrong
-
It took me about 3 seasons just to get not forgotten sooo yea.
-
7 Replieslol a good chunk of you all cheated or were carried in comp
-
2 RepliesThey were bad ideas when the first made them. Giving the best hitters loaded bats made no sense, it just took them way too long to see it. Yes, all but maybe NF is a participation trophy these days but that really just made the situation even worse. People shouldn't be regularly choosing legendaries over exotics, the original concept was they were the best weapons. That's why you're limited to only one. But Bungie screwed that up, and now they're going back and trying to clean up their mistake. But they let people get used to pinnacles way too long and there's a lot of backlash. I think they're axing the pinnacles no matter how much some people want otherwise. DIsagree, but don't get hateful for me just calling it the way Bungie probably sees it these days. (they already acknowledged pinnacles were bad a few seasons ago when they started ritual weapons)
