I enjoyed the campaigns of this game. Starting as nothing and growing into a cool Guardian, as this interesting and vivid world slowly opened before me, was a wonderful experience. And I was thrilled to experience it again--Already had the upgrade edition in my basket before I decided to just give it a go first, to reaffirm my enjoyment-- and see what it has grown into during these two years.
Apparently nothing. It instead regressed into Endgame Grind: The Game. Unlike every single other game in the history of the bloody word that gave people the OPTION of skipping to the endgame you decided to just remove all the story, all the progression, all the natural gameplay evolution and turn the game into nothing but a lobby for strikes and crucible. Why even have worlds? Just remove everything but the director so you can become a proper Overwatch clone you're so desperate to be.
Gutting most of your game in order to force new people to play with veterans who treat it like a job is pathetic and insulting to everyone who diligently worked on the original.
And yes, I know I can pick up the quests from Amanda Whatever. But if you think that's even remotely similar to a proper progression you're the reason the game has become...this.
Edit: Hello, seems I've upset some people. I apologise if my post seemed crass or rude but coming back after so long only to find the game gutted saddened me.
"Your account is only 172 days old!"
Yes, because I had no need of a Bungie account until it was time to migrate my saves from Battle.net to steam. But I'm sure such versed veterans and great lovers of this game knew that.
"New account! New account"
You are welcome to check my game history on my Titan, all of my achievements are from 2017. So it''s a few months over two years, if we're being pedantic.
I did used to have three characters, but I deleted my hunter and warlock in hopes of starting over. That did not work out well, hence this post.
"Just don't play it"
I don't. But this is a feedback forum and I thought to give my feedback on the game I bought that no longer exists. Not an oddity in itself as MMO's and "Live Service" games tent to evolve and morph into different things. Yet I've never seen one devolve. The Old Republic, for example, simply offers character tokens to boost levels, for those who wish it. It does not force people to level 60, ignoring the whole base game just to push people into the DLC and expansions. And that's a game owned by EA!
Ultimately, I'm someone who enjoys the path and cares little about the destination. Yet the path is no longer here.
Also, I quite liked the characters in this game, even developed a slight crush on Ikora...and Cayde...and Zavala. Yet now, the only introduction into these badass characters is them going "Hello." and a line of text telling you how to use the director. They've turned Zavala into a signpost! And to quote a popular western philosopher "That ain't right!"

4 RepliesYou upset the Bungie Defense Force 😮😮. The fanboys are attacking in droves.
-
14 RepliesI applaud your courage to say what needs said. As a D1 Vet I can honestly say you’re not the slightest bit wrong. D2 is slowly becoming a sad disgrace that doesn’t even know what it wants to be.
-
1 ReplyI purposely got myself banned so I don't have to play this anymore. It has gone into a right state and going to a free to play model isn't really my doing. Been playing D1 instead and that was still really good in this day and age. I'll still be interested in the game but I'll only come back when D3 comes around. Focus on originality and start afresh with new weapons, armor, abilities and good content like in D1 and always give players every reason to come back to playing more hours of this.

10 RepliesAlright now here me out here... Warframe. For all you grindy people out there. This is a pretty great game with developers who are responsive and actually care. (Bungie might care, but they aren't good at expressing it) Yes, it's free. And yes crafting takes real-life time. But get this. You can TRADE. IN-GAME. WITH OTHER PEOPLE. FOR THE REAL MONEY CURRENCY. WACK. At the start, environments aren't as vibrant as Destiny. But as you delve into the game and see the massive amount of content there is you'll come to love it. The two open area zones they have are amazing. Warning though. There is a lot of info. You thought Destiny was complicated? You have no idea.

Im no fan boy. I in fact plan onf quiting if ll infusion gets capped. But to me i hated all the campaigns. Especially having to do side missions to progress. Especially since i wanted to grind out 3 different classes. I think right now maybe its a bit too streamlined, and supposedly theyre looking at how to tweak the campaign. I think the old progression was too slow but this one is literally nonexistant. I think having the campaign but not locking progression behind the sidequests would be good. Since the side quest was artificial and boring padded content to lengthen the campaign.

1 ReplyD2 is a broken mess. Bungo is all about money these days. Seasons, nerfs and MTX's are what Bungo focuses on. I honestly don't know why anyone plays anymore. D1 is still fun, more fun than D2 will ever be, even if it is stagnant.

Imagine having a game you don’t care for living rent free in your head . THIS BADLY. Cheers for the laugh

4 RepliesFake news. It’s takes more than several minutes to even load into the tower.

Buy, Thanks for stopping

Game is trash. Potential through the roof, but it is what it is.
-
So, let me get this straight...you DONT want to do 100 strikes to finish a catalyst? Thats not FUN for you? Nah man...that's not destiny gangsta bruh. Hang up your armor and go stand next to Zavala. Shame on you guardian. PS- please visit eververse, ya cheap bastid

1 ReplyThank god we need less people like u in the game

I cant even bring myself to log on outside of my child roaming in patrol. It has never been so disinteresting, empty, and pointless.
-
All throughout the time of TTK forward I played Destiny 1 religiously with my group of friends, like almost EVERY DAY (about 1000+ hours) and had so much fun doing it. Now I can barely play D2 for over 10 minutes and just gettingbored senseless. Already uninstalled and don’t plan on coming back :p

I quit from May until January. Got nearly 3000 D2 hours. I joined back up to do quests, catalysts, and farm certain legendary weapons. I no longer do LFG stuff, raids, high-end game play, or any clan stuff whatsoever. I will say that I enjoy the game a lot more this way....but this doesnt mean I find it "fun." I quit in May due to the biggest D2 nerf to date. Now we are going for a 2nd wave of that. Again, zero ambition to do anything more than questing or catalysts. I think what I'm really doing is logging on in hopes that some FPS/Looter magically appears in my browser begging to be played. This game has FAR ran its course w me. The problem is that no one will make a game in this genre. Anthem was supposed to be that game. However they failed miserably.

It’s because the game as a whole is entirely pointless the endless level grind, the chase for weapons that make the game easier just to get nerfed or change and then don’t matter, the bland seasonal activities and armor system, the boring director activities I could endlessly go on about the constant updates to the cash shop, but how they make updates to the game every six months and how pitiful it is, but I won’t because I don’t need to you all know this, this game is far from where we once wanted it to be it has become a dumpster fire in which there is no saving it’s so bad it even taints the sweet memory of D1 for some people it’s an honest to god shame Bungie doesn’t care about this franchise anymore they care about the money and that’s just the way it is now.
-
maybe its just not your game , it still survived for a long time. Enjoy life , enjoy other games if this one isnt for you

I can’t wait till my annual pass is over and I don’t have to rank up and more seasons or play anymore. Gonna love having that 100+gb free on my hard drive while I wait for news of the game actually getting good, while I play significantly more fun games. Haven’t touched the game other than to get exotics on bmy barely used warlock and Titan from Xur and do a couple bounties or patrols if I can’t decide what else to do, lol. I only do the ranks so my money wasn’t wasted and just in case the game actually gets good eventually so I will have the things I paid for. 🤷🏻♂️

2 RepliesSeveral minutes? IMPOSSIBLE!
HOW DID YOU GET PAST THE LOAD TIMES!
-
I resonate with this so much. With Destiny’s current State, has stripped me of all desire to play Destiny. The Repetitive Nature of Destiny has finally gotten to me. I didn’t like Destiny at launch, don’t like it now. D2 launch had not enough grind, D2 now has to much grind. Forsaken/Annual Pass put Destiny in a perfect state. Wasn’t too grindy, wasn’t like D2 launch, it was just right. Then Shadowkeep/Season Pass -blam!-ed it all up. Destiny 2’s future was designed with the Freeloading no lifer Streamers and have given the finger to casuals. The Battle Pass Leveling is a -blam!-ing chore along with everything else. Destiny is in such a sad state. Read Paul Tassi’s article where he talks about how Time Gates and FOMO are driving people away from Destiny not to it. Nobody wants to play a game according to when the DEVELOPERS want you to and when they want you to. No game developer should dictate what players do and how they play and how long they play. Bungie has become dictators. Destiny is no hobbyist game, it’s a Freeloader’s, Basement Dweller’s Game. People who play this game so much that they get everything done within 90 days needs a -blam!-ing job, a girlfriend, a social life etc.

Good job

Several minutes! Well, at least you gave it a solid go. I left before before the first expansion and came back in season of the forge. Been having a great time and made a bunch of great online buddies.
several minutes
saw a post the other day that said 6.5 minutes to get to the tower. +1 for only needing 30 seconds to know the milk has gone bad in Bungieville. 🤘🏽

11 RepliesLess than 200k players since a while now. And that’s considering 30% cross save, 20% account recoveries. In the end right now you have the streamers, and their viewers playing the game. Not more. It’ll be the same pop for next season with trials, may be a little more of account recoveries. All the pay to win streamers will be happy at last!

5 RepliesEdited by Mad EYE Murffy: 2/25/2020 11:28:34 AMTotally agree, bungie have completely missed the point, start at 750? I don’t want to start at 750, I want the whole experience. I tried the f2p version recently very confusing as you start effectively at the beginning of D1, then before you know it you’re done. This is why I will not recommend D2 to anyone. Edit: it’s absolutely designed to push you to buy content and get to Eververse
