And guess what? He is right.
Crucible makes me a super toxic asshole. It shows that I am clearly not made for this kind of Competition in Destiny 2. Edit: And that is wrong. It should be a fun experience for all, not just a few exceptions.
In return, I don't get anything from others. No praise from other players in my team. No support when I am mad about the game. No help when I need it most. Edit: People just Play throught the game with no Expression. No communication. Out of 80 Matches just one writes "nice" in the Chat on PC after you made a solo-comeback from 2 life disadvantage to victory of the round…. The lack of people communicating is disgusting.
In fact, we all don't respect each other in pvp. In the early days of D1 I got sometimes messages of other players praising me and my contribution to victory for the Team. Today I don't get anything. And that hurts the psyche for some poeple like me. Edit: Do you ever knew that empty feeling during playing Destiny and someone t-bags you for no reason? Do you also know the hate flowing up your veins? Just one of the results because of no real fun experience in crucible.
That's the reason why I, after 5 attempts to hit legend in competitive, after hundreds of posts about how comp should be improved, I decided today for myself to never touch crucible ever again besides when I have to.
I always liked the crucible back in D1. Even in it's worst times I got rewarded somehow. May it be with awesome plays or cool loot.
But in D2, the best rewards require to be the best. And that is something that doesn't feel good overall.
Iron banner guns don't feel as good as they were in D1. The gun and armor design is also, from my perspective, not good. In my opinion the iron banner lost the connection to it's roots.
When Trials comes around the next Season, I will play it, but not for flawless. Not for the fun. Only, because I maybe want certain things.
I won't enjoy it. And I will avoid the crucible as best as I can. Even as someone loving pvp games.
Just wanted to tell that to anyone. Have a nice day.
I will try now to enjoy my retirement from my crucible days.

I've never played a game where encouraging messages are a regular thing. If that bothers you, maybe you're right that PvP isn't for you.

I loaded into a ranked Halo reach game the other day, first ranked game since reach came out on xbone, we were all potatoes and it was probably the most fun I've had in a PvP match in years. Two people in the lobby, one from each team, added me as a friend after since we were chatting it up and reminiscing of the old Halo days. Meanwhile in Destiny land... We all suck. No ones ever in voice chat on Xbox, big part of that I think is a lot of us are in parties admittedly, And the game voice chat is extremely barebones

4 RepliesIron Banner has only gotten sweatier over time, to the point where I do the bare minimum and get out.

1 ReplyI got really lucky a couple times and made some good friends by getting my butt kicked in crucible. Not my own team, but someone from the OPPOSITE team gave me a GG and asked me if I wanted to join them. We are now good raid and general play friends. If you ever want something from crucible hit me up, I'll play with ya. I'm certainly not the best, but I got to fabled relatively on my own, which has to count for something right? Anyway, just shoot me a message whenever you wanna do anything crucible. If I'm available, I would love to play.

Someone wants Attention. Poor guy

3 RepliesComing from the guy who let his friends die. Does nothing about Rasputin, while Osiris walks in and points a gun to a small console.

The crucible is a dumpster fire, and always will be. My luck with trying to get NF has not been nice to me recently, and I’m getting close to just throwing in the towel. Bad matchmaking + bad teammates + mlg enemies = Good Riddance

1 ReplyIt's a f-ing dumpster fire in its current state.

The Destiny PvP fallacy, "git gud." There are a LOT of people who don't want to git gud, they don't even want to be there. Part of the reason this game is a pleasurable experience for PvP oriented people is that there is a fairly sizable pool of cannon fodder there who aren't trying to git gud and just want to earn whatever it is they're after. The OP is one of them, I'm another(but I did make 5500). There are quite a few more. Hanging your hat on being good at PvP in this game is like being good at dodge ball in gym. The poor kid on the end of the ball getting a Voit tattoo doesn't even want to be there. Whacking him on the head was about as hard as hitting a tree stump. You didn't prove anything other than you're better at him and can be a douche about it with the "git gud" comments. I was the kid who was good at dodge ball, but at 45 I've come to understand things a bit more clearly. That other kid knew he was going to fail before he even started, didn't want to be there. Me taking any pride in that at all was just me being a douche. Don't like my opinion? I really don't care, that's the way I see things around here and I'm not changing my mind about it.

Don't worry, if you're ever on my team in comp and make a good play without crutching meta garbage, I'll give you a few claps of the hand. That's what I typically do, anyways. Use Non-meta weapons. The game gets easier.

4 RepliesSo your leaving because your not being praised in Crucible???? I get the loot part, but really, Because your not being praised??? The fact that you search for praise means your not Humble. People who don't search for praise are Humble. Searching to be Praised won't get you anywhere in life, and at the End it'll mean nothing. Very sad that you search for this. Seems like there are some deeper issues with this. You should see a Head Doctor, because truthfully this is not a healthy life style, and it never ends well.

3 RepliesYour not getting a pat on the back so you're not going to play? What are you, 12?

3 RepliesThanks to pinnacles, you’re gonna have to.

1 ReplyUnfortunately, there’s no honor in the crucible

3 RepliesYesterday a hunter with stompees, mindbenders, and spare rations in a 4 stack aped the entire game and t bagged me the whole time because I was the top guy on my team. We lost and he messaged me telling me I was aping when I switched to a shotgun for a round. He got all toxic towards me, saying things that would get censored on here. I told him he devolved 200,000 years for that game before I blocked him.

Saw Saladin at a house party last weekend and he told me he tells that kind stuff to blueberries for the lolz.

To be honest I just try to have fun in pvp because fun just isn't something that happens naturally in destiny 2 anymore so I'm always looking for something new. Could be a new game or just something different in destiny just lately I've been playing top tree striker, skull fort and monte carlo and it's toxic but fun. Give it a try just don't give a damn though because wow people get very testicularly aggressive basically they rage bag especially lord of wolves users for some reason. Anyway long story short go kick em in the teeth.

5 RepliesI stopped reading after the first sentence. First off, this game has no competitive side to it. If your competitive and I am too, you’ll grow to hate this game pretty quickly. If you want to play it I have found that trying to goof around and learning to let go helps. Had a lot of issues with losing in overwatch and while it got me to a very respectable rank, I was ending sessions tilted all the time and now I can play and just kinda let go of a loss, I’ve learned to take the L and learn from my mistakes and guess what I hit -blam!-ing top 500 shortly afterwards and I’m stupidly proud of myself for this I just wish I did it on my main account lol. This game will always tilt you if you can’t learn to let go of it’s issues and I know how hard it can be. Give it a try man I swear if you really try to learn it, you’ll be able to have fun a lot more often in shitty games.

Yeah no sensible person is made for an easily abused p2p system with no proper protection in place, some people get banned at the end of a match for lagging through out the entire time, others don't because they get a good connection for a nanosecond and the timer for the punishment get's reset.

I can understand a lot of the frustration with PvP, but honestly, I enjoy it. I've been playing comp a lot and whilst I don't always do well, I still enjoy it. Perhaps because I genuinely don't care for my stats I don't know. On the one hand, I do feel for my teammates occasionally when I do have a bad game but it is what it is. Same applies when the shoe is on the other foot; my teammates may play bad but I don't belittle or -blam!- about my teammates. On the other hand, "you get what you signed up for" when using the solo queue in comp. You win some, you lose some. I would actually like to send more msgs to other gamers stating well played etc, but the messaging system on PS4 is trash and takes so long to get in to, so I don't.

Never even touched it for these reasons. I've never felt that I am missing out.

Yeah, unfortunately Jotunn Banner is one of the worst PvP experience in the industry. Straight up sketch in just about every aspect.
