I have been an avid fan of the destiny franchise but have now stopped playing it for the following reasons.
1. I am not a fan of purchasing DLC's that in a lot of cases are not worth the money.
2. The story line now seems to be secondary and everything is about an endless grind to get new armour / weapons.
3. I have missed out on the majority of the raid content and rewards because I did not have 5 friends also playing destiny. This content should be able to be played solo but maybe take longer to complete. I feel I have paid for content I will never see and it wasn't for the lack of trying.
4. Quest resets and weapon nerfing. I spent a lot of time trying to finish quests for weapons only for it to reset and I'd have to start again.
The graphics are fantastic and the storyline used to be great.
If these issues were to be addressed I would be back in a heartbeat. I have submitted this in the hope it is useful.

2 RepliesI told myself out of principal I'd hit the 100 mark and quit. I hit it last night. Game over. Wasn't happy with myself that I felt like I had to hit the mark. Stupid. But it's done and so am I. Beautiful looking game with great shooting mechanics. That is the where the good stops. It's boring. It's a chore just to get a gun to keep chasing the next chore?? Strange that people don't realize this, but a proven addiction model by modern psychology. There is nothing more disappointing then unrealized potential. This game and the Fallout series have just tanked. But Bungie has their money and honestly folks, they don't care. Some great suggestions on this forum, but they aren't going to implement them, listen or even acknowledge. Imagine you went to a dinner and the food was bad, but the waiter or manager wouldn't even talk to you, much less replace or improve the food. I can just imagine their morning meetings at Bungie... they just shrug and laugh. The forums are more entertaining. I love the people that ask why you come to post you're quitting. They don't seem to realize they're posting to someone saying they're quitting...the irony is lost on them LOL.

2 RepliesEdited by Rilla: 1/10/2020 3:32:50 AMI stopped playing because it’s shit The last release I’ll ever pay for. Fool me 6 times bungie, but this beaten housewife is leaving your ass forever

No if u refuse to even try to do the raid using lfg then u shouldnt getbthe gear in it, stop being lazy. No game out there that has raids just gives them to solo players just cause they wanna be solo only
-
Game is 100% becoming stale, as soon as I max the pass out I think I'll bail on this again. I personally quit for a while, come back, and the game seems lackluster and some parts worse than before. PVP for example is more of a total sweat fest, than I remember it its now a race to 1 hit ko, going against a saturated pool of hunters sporting the sweat meta, every single time,. Each game is the same, no variety, boring. Solo pve gets dull fast, also using an app is no solution. This game just doesn't have the pull it once did, the people playing are the dedicated players, PVP is an example of this, the casual base is no more, it's just the hard core, forced to sweat it out game after game. I remember you could fire this game up, do a bit of pvp, have some fun, now no matter the mode, each game max sweat and a race to get as many 1hit ko's, as possible, dull boring and repetitive, stale hunter dominated, 1hko weapon dominated sweat fest.

Agreed... Bungie has gotten lazy. Their legacy is tainted whether they fix it or not, they will forever be a 2 out of 5 star franchise.

1 Replythe forums are more fun than actually playing this game

1 Reply"3. I have missed out on the majority of the raid content and rewards because I did not have 5 friends also playing destiny. This content should be able to be played solo but maybe take longer to complete. I feel I have paid for content I will never see and it wasn't for the lack of trying." It IS for lack of trying.....finding a group is not hard at all. The Raids SHOULD NOT be designed for solo players. They should be designed to be group activities that optimally require some communication so that they are challenging for GROUPS. FFS they added Dungeons so you can pursue a solo challenge.

Edited by AbsolutZeroGI: 1/10/2020 2:36:03 AMNo, raids should NOT ever be solo. Tired of people suggesting this. It's an MMO. If you ant solo play, play a solo player game. If Bungie destroyed their raid structure I would stop playing. I like challenges and people. I agree with the rest, though. The only thing I do with my clan is raid now unless I'm exotic quest hunting.

that's basically why i stopped playing too

26 RepliesRaids basically turned into more of a marketing campaign with Worlds First than anything else. Worlds First is the only time you will see Destiny crack the top 100 in Twitch streaming. I wish they would move away from raids or scale them way back to 3 player activities. Ive done almost all the raids at least once and a few that I liked multiple times for quests and certain weapons. All in all, they are meh. It’s basically sitting with 5 other people trying to make small talk pretending you’re having a good time just to get loot or finish a quest. Unless you truly have 5 real friends playing Destiny, which 99% of us don’t, raids kinda suck. I wish they’d take that time and energy and put it towards something else. Less than 5% of people have ever done more than 1 raid. That’s a lot of time to waste for such a small amount of people, but I think the exposure of Worlds First for the game — because hundreds of thousands of people watch — is what raids are now built for. It’s Bungie hoping that people will stumble across them, see the big commotion, and then get sucked into the game before they know all of what you need to even participate in them or other aspects of the game.

3 RepliesLol the forums are so fun, I just love how i quit and will never play this game again but the forums just feel so real and are far more entertaining especially to see how the community is faring. Like seriously i just love how the best argument against posts like this is “just go play other games and come back to play destiny as filler” Like the people whi still love this game even realise that this game is a filler game and has no quality conent to keep you invested like ither games do. I swear the best part of this game now is that its partially free but everything elese is just so boring like a job.

It's awful especially pvp. Sbmm needs to be fixed or removed atm it's some forced 50/50 win ratio. I only play on my friends account to practice m&k since I just got a pc that can run 4k at 70fps. But it's just awful. Long mm times just to face unbrokens who have been using m&k their whole life while I get worse player on my team because I won my last game.

*toot toot* All aboard the "I hate destiny and here is why and I'm never coming back and you all need to know that I'm not coming back because I'm Karen the most valued customer Bungie has ever had and I will tell you all the reasons this game sucks right before I leave because if I'm not having a good time then nobody else can so f**ck you Bungie and everyone who plays this game is stupid and terrible at life" train! *toot toot*
3. I have missed out on the majority of the raid content and rewards because I did not have 5 friends also playing destiny.
Theres this thing called lfg, making new friends whi do play or joining a new clan.
This content should be able to be played solo but maybe take longer to complete.
Yeah definately not.
I feel I have paid for content I will never see and it wasn't for the lack of trying.
You paid for access to content, that doesnt mean you log in and the game drop you a team. Not completing raids is completely on you, it takes 5 minutes to lfg a group, join any clan or add people interested

1) They are. 2) True. 3) LFG exists. You're making excuses. 4) Quests don't reset. Only thing that does is your rankings in Crucible and Gambit. Nerfs, well... yeah.

The reason i stopped playing: I had to go to work
-
I feel the same but I think the truth of the matter is this franchise is going in a direction askew from our own and there’s little to no chance of it returning
-
I stopped playing because I just don’t enjoy the game now. The seasonal model is bad, armour 2.0 is good in concept but horribly created, weapons aren’t worth going for, don’t like having to use certain weapons for a nightfall, the raids are horrendous and the raid loot isn’t worth going for as the weapons have no perks that help you in the raid like in destiny 1, crucible is horrible, gambit is horrible and getting blue gear out of every activity outside of raids and nightfalls is stupid. Played the Vault of Glass on destiny 1 last night and it was the most fun I’ve had on a destiny game in years. Everyone was enjoying themselves, no one needed to pay 100% attention to the mechanics and it felt exciting getting the loot that we hadn’t gotten yet. Destiny 1 is light years better, even though it has some issues. I’d rather play destiny 1 over destiny 2 at the moment, the content is just more enjoyable and you feel rewarded at the end of an activity.

Edited by TotalDramaGamer: 1/9/2020 9:22:53 AMThe lack of a sense of progression is the biggest reason I stopped... Every single update it's a rinse and repeat. Go grind everything again. Level your armor again. Do this different color of essentially the same quest again ('pinnacle weapons'). And, worst of all, the story simply isn't worth the grind. It's just... not. Just tired of it. I want to chase something, level it to where I need it to be, and then be able to set it down knowing it'll still be as powerful as I left it. New content should bring new grinds to unlock new ways to play the game and level THOSE things up. Not for me to relevel my 'used to be powerful' items. -- Also, Armor 2.0 is trash and Bunige should be ashamed of the affinity system. Most player restricting set up I've ever seen... and that's not even counting champion mods. Also, raids feel so generic I feel like they should just be strikes. I remember I came back for a week and decided to host a WOTM raid. Got 5 other randoms, did the raid, popped out. Didn't keep a single reward. Guns aren't unique enough to be memorable anyway besides that exotic GL. Meanwhile I can still remember each and every unique gun effect from CE... the wizard stun auto rifle, the original bullet refunding hc and sniper, a LMG and Pulse that shot through Knight shields, the scout that marked enemies, and Necrochasm (while pitifully weak) had a decently good looking (dumb fun) effect. Weapons from the raids used to feel important and advantageous (or, at the very least unique) to have vs that specific faction. Now... lol, now we're farming for God rolls for raid weapons like they're any other legendary... lame.

9 RepliesDestiny 2 right now: Log in for weekly reset: -Load forever. -Bugs/Glitches/Lag aren't fixed at all. -Pick up some bounties. -Run a Nightfall or Public Events for Flashpoint. Get nothing for my time, stare at the destinations and debate whether to continue. -Run a Crucible match, matchmaking takes forever, the Chinese Rebels are one banging me through the walls, no balance, laggy mess...oh look, a blue piece of gear for my troubles. -Stare at Destinations....debate whether to continue. Log off until weekly reset.
