18 RepliesWell there is the classic mix playlist that has CBMM. Other than that sorry but no. CBMM has lead to one to many one sided matches where you are the stomper or stompee and nobody likes having a crushing lost. Flip side a crushsing win isn't fun either because you didn't grow in skill and you probably made someone on the enemy team swear off PvP all together. Only people who want CBMM back so they can just stomp on every one are no life comp sweats who have such frail egos they need to beat people in a video game to feel like they done something or Youtubers who need them sick feeds for their videos. Now this is just my opinion on the matter but many others have the same view that SBMM is better for the game than CBMM. Because again SBMM yes you get put up against challenging opponents but you know you can improve your skill but fighting them while CBMM just lead to one sided fights that only frail ego comp sweats and Youtubers enjoyed.

I love how SBMM is literally the Scape Goat for the problems of Crucible.
Remove
No. SBMM allows everyone to pick on people their own skill level. SBMM keeps every match from being a pubstomp.

1 ReplyThen what? Remove not forgotten, the mountaintop, lunas howl, the recluse. I know most only need reach fabled in glory for those weapons but there's still hell of lot of people which struggle to earn them. Damn remove all raid weapons to being option in crucible aswell? Just so it's fair playing field? What I think they should do though is a freelance for every mode including iron banner. Then the SBMM should be based on you k/d. For example if your k/d is between 1.0 to 1.9 you MM together but of course this will only work within freelance.

4 RepliesSkill based matchmaking is ok...only problem is the spectrum is too wide for the ppl you can match with. I don't even have 70 gold medals but im matching ppl with 900-1100 gold medals. This is broken sbmm.

Edited by an Ape with a d2 addiction: 12/31/2019 1:21:09 PMDisclaimer: copy/paste from my earlier posts because of the recurring topic: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The current SBMM version has failed and needs tweaking. I dislike CBMM more than SBMM though. Specifically CBMM with the team balancing that gives the lobby's low end-players to my team and the rest on the other. CBMM always gives me more lopsided games overall. I feel the difference even now when I go to classic from control. I prefer properly implemented SBMM as a concept. I've enjoyed the balanced lobbies control playlist gives more consistently far more. I feel the lag and the long queue times SBMM causes are because the SB part is too tight right now. What bungo needs to do is take low-average and high-average players from close enough locations and mix them in more with low and high SB ends. Problem solved at least on paper and relatively balanced lobbies remain. In short implement S+CBMM properly. I feel that's the only actual solution because of p2p that fails with SBMM and bungo's wonky team balancing that doesn't work well enough with CBMM.

22 RepliesEdited by TheArtist: 12/29/2019 5:06:21 PMNo. Go play Classic Mix.

For me as a pve only player, if I didn't have to play pvp to get quests and such done, like the saint 14 quest, then then I'd be for removing sbmm.

3 RepliesI respect your opinion, but for casual folk like myself, it makes things a bit more bearable in Crucible. If it wasn't for some quest steps I wouldn't even play Crucible, I think that it takes away from the amazing PvE environment when they waste time on thi gs like Crucible. That being said what PvP players need is a true endgame like Trials. But, I can understand your frustration.

I have no problem with playing people at my level. What is annoying is that getting people at your level means playing against people all over the world. I loaded up a quickplay game yesterday morning and figured I would check something out for science; I loaded up netlimiter to see where the Destiny process was pinging IPs from. Sure enough I get places like Peru, Singapore, Brazil, Hong Kong, Russia, and India for at least half of my lobby. My thing with SBMM is this; Being close to someone in skill will not matter if your shots are taking forever to register and you are trading kills in every engagement. You are better off playing against people better than you with a stable connection than equal in skill across the globe.

1 ReplyI like skillbased matchmaking even if im in those "higher skilled" matches. The problem is the obvious manipulated team balancing. Every time I see a sweaty match and Im playing solo, I know Im going to be given the shittiest players while the enemy team is given the good ones.
-
1 ReplyWell, this post is gonna get downvoted into oblivion. SBMM and CBMM both don't work for this game. Each of them benefits a chunk of the PvP community at the expense of the other. We need a hybridized system.

To all who posted with the few words I’ve said the things said back reveal more about the issue thanks for adding to the discussion

If they removed SBMM imo they should also limit the amount of people that can play in a fireteam to like 3-4 people.Too many people would start only playing in 6 stacks and just stat farming.

1 ReplyIt shouldn’t be removed. What we need are teams that are actually balanced. Until we get team balancing, skill based matchmaking is not really real. It’s technically win-loss based matchmaking right now. Win a couple matches, get on a losing streak, then rinse and repeat. It’s a sham.
-
Fine with it.
-
Nah, it's good.
-
And replace it with what? CBMM isn't working and neither is SBMM
-
No. Even with it, I’m still getting killed by other apes, but I have been seeing less though
