Seriously, it's useless. Why not just let us earn the armor from games and packages like we used to? This is pointless

2 RepliesThe point is to see how much stupid shit you guys will put up with, and still play.
-
Pads player numbers and play time so they can turn around and advertise it as a huge success.
-
You can get good armor and enhanced mods too. I don't mind doing the quest it's fun for me. I get more tokens to buy more engrams.

9 RepliesThe point is that it's supposed to drive engagement. They know the people who played, already have tons of tokens just saved up, waiting to snatch up whatever new items they offer every season, without having to go back into the PvP we've been complaining about. They think if people can't just but the gear immediately, it'll give them something to do, make then get into the playlist, busy player numbers, showing for better/faster matchmaking. The logic is there. Problem is, there's no real new items to get anyways. So at most you get those people in the playlist for a dozen or so games and then they dip. At worst though... Probably just aren't engaging with it at all. Bungie has good intentions. They just bungled the execution.

Iron Banner is supposed to be PvP endgame. Iron Lords are supposed to be the best. being asked to use weapons of any type seems reasonable for a mode considered endgame. all the quest asks is for things that happen naturally in the match. for a simple quest you get a full set of armor for a few hours of play. with the current give me now attitude the D1 model of progress by win to hit rank 5 for only 2 armor pieces per IB would never fly.

1 ReplyThe point? To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women!

Edited by Delta Bear 010: 12/27/2019 1:17:57 AMTo punish people who save tokens and keep them from farming saladin for new weapons/armor without playing that season.
-
1 ReplyTo keep ppl playing WAAAY longer then they would normally. That’s it. Period.
-
It’s to get all of the new loot! Oh, wait... Ummm, well, we still have to prove ourselves because Saladin doesn’t even know who we are because we’ve never helped him with anything! Oh wait... Seriously, I know this meme is really tired at this point, but
making content is hard for Bungie
Like EVERYTHING in the game-KEEPING you in game as long as possible. You never noticed that 90% of the mechanics are in the game to keep you engaged? It not about quality time but quantity. From the way you can't delete or buy materials in a stack to time gated quests. It's all for the numbers.
-
Bungie creates these bounties in lieu of content. And the same superfans in the forum come out the wood work to defend them. It's a terrible practice along with the time gates and weekly rotations we have to suffer through to pad the "info graphic" on their season pass event timeline.

10 RepliesIt's a garuanteed way to have a full set of pinnacle armor drop. I only wish you could buy packages without completing the quest. Maybe you could earn the armor sets through quest and packages, and the quest one is the only pinnacle one? Sounds better to me

5 RepliesPinnacle armor pieces from the bounties once you finish the quest.
-
Can you buy this stuff through the Eververse store?

“Make IB great again”

Agreed. Sidenote: earning seasonal armor is also pointless
