So that makes them more OP? Making you change your movement to counter it, but without a perk? That's an insane concept.

  • None of the things you described are weapon perks. I specifically said weapon perk, not weapon type.

  • So what I'm hearing is them not requiring kills but forcing movement from you makes them more OP...

  • Everything in the game can kill. Only a select few things can cause you to completely change the way you move around to avoid it. Things like seeing a OEM Titan and having to back off because not securing the kill means he gets free wallhacks on you. Things like hearing Recluse going off and having to run away because the TTK of that weapon with it's perk active is uncontestable. A sniper can be flinched, or out sniped. A shotgun, with it's extremely limited range, can be avoided by backing up a bit, or out shotgunned. A Recluse with the active perk? Good luck.

  • So backing up for a bit is okay for a shotgun, but an SMG that requires a kill, it isn't?

  • A shotgun experiences damage drop-off at around 4-5 meters. Recluse experiences drop-off at what, 27? I'd say they're maybe just a little bit different.

  • You drunk? 27 meters away is like the range falloff of a god rolled austringer. Recluses damage falloff begins at 14 (just tested with a DaRCI in a private match) with recoil making things much worse past 17. You can probably consistently with MoA at 17, but a strafing target and recoil (on M&K btw) makes it much less practical.

  • Mistyped, meant 17. Anyway, the point still stands regardless. Recluse is effective at near triple the range of a shotgun. They aren't comparable.

  • Well a shotgun is a single shot, recluse REQUIRES A KILL, then it becomes fantastic. The requiring a kill makes it very easy to see coming, it lasts 5 seconds, you know who just got killed by it, and if he's in range to kill you, you heard where... I've never had a problem playing around a recluse ape, it's just as easy as playing around a shotgun user. I can't imagine what's so hard about backpedaling.

  • Recluse requires a kill with any weapon. If it was simply Recluse only, it'd be fine. But it requires a kill with any weapon, including snipers, heavy, shotguns, your other primary, mountaintop, etc. Getting the perk to proc is easy, and it's not unlikely that you'll find another person to kill within 5 seconds. It doesn't happen every time, sure, but it happens often enough. Backpedaling doesn't work. Recluse has the range to counter that, especially with Master of Arms active. And as for you having no problem dealing with it, great, that's good to hear. I can play around it too. But that doesn't excuse the gun being that blatantly powerful.
