Since forsaken launched, i've seen more titans using what always seemed to me to be add clearing supers for boss damage than ever before, even when surrounded by adds, and i never understood why. I'm not a titan main but when i play on my titan, unless i'm using thundercrash, i use my supers for add clearing. Am I missing something here? Do titan supers deal good boss damage that i have been unaware of for all these years?
I should clarify i'm not talking specifically about bosses in raids. I mean in strikes and gambit also.

Some supers are better for taking out bosses and some are better for adds, most of the time a Titan is clearing out a big group of add's it's usually striker (and the forsaken version just cause it's not so good on bosses) Top tree solar is pretty decent in terms of taking out add's but if you wanna do damage against a boss then bottom tree is the way to go

im a titan main and i use my super as a last resort unlike my other two characters i see very little use in void and arc for titan but solar i use for add clear mainly because i know it will lessen my dps on the boss and a last resort as if a teammate is struggling with add clear i just use my super on them because i dont need it otherwise.

Part of the issue may be people are still in the habit of saving their super for most critical moments. This is a side effect that still lingers from when Bungie made the super regen slower and limited. You were lucky to get 1 super in a strike run. Thankfully they have since changed it, but that habit still lingers with players. It's not that they dont want to use them for add clears, but they are in the habit of saving them for when needed most.

To be fair, Synthoceps boost Titans Super damage to pretty hefty levels when Biotic Enhancements is active.

I end up doing both where I can. Add clearing = orb generation = more supers on boss. Fun, explodey good times for all.

Don't know what you mean, I use mine all the time

4 RepliesYou dont own a mic so you can talk to team mates and ask them?

2 RepliesThe real question should be: Why don’t titans have any good boss dps supers?
-
Because we have literal Primary weapons for that role. And, Ironically Vice Versa.

1 ReplyEdited by Major-Payne: 9/24/2019 2:26:15 AMNo you’re right. Bottom tree striker can kill an entire wave in gambit or prime with half the bar left. Been having a blast. Good for massacre medals too.

Edited by RootilyTootToot: 9/24/2019 1:44:52 AMI mean Thundercrash one shots ogres in CoS, and you only need bubble if you suck at breaking shields, so I use my super to have fun instead of carrying my partner? Edit: ogres after 1st enounter, before people try and get snippy. Further edit: I didn't even see you mention thundercrash, so I retract my statement.

1 ReplySomeone explain to me why hunters use Celestial Nighthawk while running BLADE Barrage?

Shatter hammers from long range do pretty good damage, and the big sentinel shield bash was crazy buffed a while ago. Idk about non-Thundercrash weirdos though
