Don't be fooled. Shadowkeep is the introduction of fortnite to Destiny
If you've read the latest info about how the seasons will change, you will probably be stunned to hear that there are now four seasons in a year instead of three. I guess that overworked team is now pulling miracles.
On top of that while they figured out a way for story and vendors to be introduced and then 10 weeks later it's gone. The world changes. kind of sound a little bit like fortnite doesn't it.
So now we have the pleasure of buying a separate season AKA battle pass, after we already paid for the expansion, just to have that experience go away within 10 weeks.
So that means you better get all of that time-limited loot before the vendor disappears. so this game supposed to be full open world is basically going to be on a weekly AND 10-week timer. Sounds pretty much the same to me.
oh and remember, Luke Smith wants you to believe that cosmetics shouldn't be in the base game. those are things that if you want you should have to pay real money for. Yeah, sure... they probably think they can sell bags of piss also.

4 RepliesYou wanna hear a wierd fortnite story? I had a friend, who is a grown ass man btw, come visit a while back and he sat on my playstation and played that garbage constantly. I had to work very hard to get my usual 37 hours of trashcanning through pvp a day in. I jokingly said to this person that, "Destiny's dances are better." Jokingly said this. And this dude turns towards me while all the people are running around in his idiot game that looks like its from 2002 and says... "fortnite's dances actually mean something." He was dead serious. Like I was truly disrespecting his wife or something. Long story short after he went back home I deleted that stupid crap off my hard drive.

5 RepliesLet's not forget that after 3 years of being bottlenecked into three trees on each subclass they release artifacts with awesome and unique perks that change your playstyle and add fun new gaming elements. That would be amazing if bungie didn't rip the perks and artifact out of our inventory and gear at the end of the season and give us another sampler tray to play with... for 3 months. Then it's gone too. WTF were they thinking? Making builds then having them taken away. What. The. Actual. -blam!-. Are these guys on right now.

It’s not a bad thing really as long as all the cosmetics Tess offers can be earned in some form without having to purchase them directly. But that’s asking too much from Bungie.

Bungie is desperate to make even more money. Perhaps this is finally a sign that people are wising up to the fact that this company is made up for incompetent, lazy, greedy scam artists. I wish we could see the pre-order numbers of shadowkeep vs. Forsaken vs. D2 launch vs. D1 Launch. The fact that we won’t see those numbers is yet another sign of their continued failure and perpetual nosedive.

I know it's not called like that, but it's easier to call it this way.) 1: If you count correctly, even if they present the shadowkeep entry as a season, it's not changing much compared to how forsaken was if you are in the people who bought it. Take things the other way around. Year 2 was 4 content drops including forsaken, with 3 seasons post expansion. Year 3 is also 4 content drops including shadowkeep, with 3 other seasons post expansion. So it is the same number of entries, no matter how they call it. It's more likely said this way because with new light, you have access to more content as a free player. You have access to every planet, gambits, and some content of the season (the pass, the artefact), where when you didn't have forsaken back to year 2, you just couldn't do anything new except eververse as I recall (so you were just stuck on the last entry of playable content.) Now, as a free player, you have a free version of "season" to play. But as a player who buys everything, that doesn't change anything to you. Once you get what it is all about it is really understandable and also pretty smart. 2 : Now comes the true thing which makes me come talking. Every premium battle pass comes with their respective season and you don't have to pay additional money after buying the season. Which makes me say : Let's say you have Forsaken (btw that was 40 bucks, which is the same price as shadowkeep plus season of undying, its content and the premium battle pass, so you pay the same price for the whole content). Good. Now let's say you wanted to play the forge and all future content, then you bought the annual pass. I remember it as 35$ separately but if you bought the bundle with forsaken it was 70$ for the whole year. So again, entire year 2 at lowest price = 70$. The whole year 3, which includes the expansion, all seasons, every premium battle pass and the whole content is 60$ at lowest price. You pay 10$ less than last year if you trust bungie, with the same number of content drops. Conclusion, the game is cheaper than last year, even with premium battle pass. 3: Now ofc some things differ. You cannot have every eververse sparrow, ship, and ornament because of new engram system and bright dust economy. I'll give you that. So if you want every cosmetic item like you maybe wanted from season 1 to 7, you'll probably have to pay at some point. I am not concerned by this anymore, but you can, it is a legit argument of how the game changes badly for a specific type of content. 4: Seasonal content will go away. This is true. Same as the third point, you have the right to disagree with it. But personally, I'm okay with it, with the condition that it brings life to the destiny world and makes old loots less boring to get. Legit question : Who goes in forges now ? Or reckoning ? Because people need loots yes, but not because they want to play that specific content, right ? Now imagine, they make those forges/reckoning loots come from another sources later on (like they said they would), from vendors or even menagerie-ish content. Would you prefer sticking to the whole forge/reckoning system ? Menagerie is nice. I've done one in 13 min yesterday to make sure it wasn't dead since the nerf, and it's not longer than the whole forge process. Way funnier than forges also. Its only my opinion, but c'mon, do you prefer going to forges ? So yes, it's a downer to say maybe awesome content will disappear. But also could be the opposite, a content we stop having fun in after 2 months. And nothing is more frustrating than seeing bungie adding boring and unrelated objectives in exotic quests, making us play 1 year old content we don't want to play anymore only for the purpose to keep it alive and doable for new/returning/late players. One thing I learned from year 2 : Yes, there is more content than in first year. Yes I had fun when it was new and useful. But I don't want to have to go back in it evertime new content drops, only to gain power or completing a poorly designed quest. And majority feels the same btw. If you are not there, okay, feels bad. But loots will come back at some point. Have fun with new things instead. Conclusion : yes it is taking few things from the battle royale genre, but honestly, it's not bad, it may even be beneficial for the player. (Except maybe for the cosmetic changes if you wished to have everything every season, because its clearly for money).
