the solution to fusion rifles
i'm gonna start with saying i don't want any BS, none of that "just get gud, stop crying, just bait them, if you nerf fusions then nerf shotguns" because what it comes down to, is the fact that they are ridiculous, as TV even states in the video. He gives some great feedback and solutions, although i was super skeptical at the beginning, it was a great video.
I encourage you all to watch the video all the way through, and I expect for any somewhat sane person to agree with TV.
High Impact Fusion Rifles are not a "meta breaker" or the solution to shotguns at all whatsoever. Please for the love of all that is good, stop thinking that. My gun will beat you, my shotgun will beat you, my sniper will beat you.
I am not crying about fusion rifles because i am bad, i am simply stating that they are annoying, and they have to be a little more balanced. Don't even bring up shotguns, because like fusion rifles, it's your fault if you die to them. And no, i'm not a quickplay ape, i only shotgun strategically, don't push me, or you die, right?
I could simply restate what TV said in the video, but i want you guys to watch it. I know a lot of people on here probably somewhat know me because i hate fusion rifles, but that doesn't mean i want them to be nerfed into oblivion. Just simply needs something done about them because i don't like being killed by one all the way in stump on banmerfall by a guy with an erentil on the right side lane.

36 RepliesTrue Vanguard is off base on this one. HE IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE PLAYER. He operates a **business** where his livelihood depends on his appearing DOMINANT against players who do not have all-day-every-day to play this game and refine their physical skills. The reason why players like him ALWAYS complain WHENEVER fusion rifles become viable is for one simple reason. They allow SMART players to overcome the PHYSICAL SKILL advantage that a player like himself has...and therefore becomes a threat to his livelihood. IOW, its like stepping onto the mound of a major league baseball game.....and throwing a fastball loving power hitter.....a big curveball. That fastball hitter doesn't LIKE hitting curveballs. So the pitcher gives him a steady diet of them.....then the fastball hitter starts to complain. Only in baseball, the League isn't going to change the rules simply because that power hitter doesn't like having to face curveballs. He's just going to have to SUCK IT UP...and learn how to deal with off-speed pitching. But in video games---especially if you have a platform like TV, and you can influence the views of a loyal fanbase----you can work the umpires and get the rules changed to suit your preferred play style. Bottomline. 1. Just because something is annoying, doesn't mean its overpowered. It means that its a counter to the way you want to play. Learn to adapt to it...and over come it....you will become a better player. 2. FRs are not OP....or need "tweaking". They are only a nuisance to specific players. a. Players who want to play fast, aggressive, and in your face like TV likes to do....or shotgun apes in general. b. Overaggressive snipers. Or Snipers that lose situational awareness or are slow to get off their shots. c. Players who refuse to accept the fact that they are NOT supposed to be able to consistently outplay someone with a FR (or trace rifle) in a mid-range fight with their hand cannon. Just like you aren't going to consistently outplay someone with a shotgun at close range with an SMG or sidearm.....or someone at long range with a sniper with your scout rifle. The issue here is that TV----and players like him---have simply gotten used to Bungie THUMBING the scale in favor of them. Thumbing the scale to see that hand cannons are always meta. Thumbing the scale to see that twitch speed is rewarded more than strategic thinking. To see that shooting accuracy is rewarded more than movement skill or other in-game skills. In short-----you're seeing why "Nerf Fusion Rifles" is a meme in this game. Because EVERY time fusion rifles become viable and become a factor to have to be dealt with in mid-range play....all the shooter bros start to complain....and demand that they be BROKEN. Again.

As per comment from below. TV is selfishly asking for change to the archetype to benefit his own agenda. The average player welcomes the usability of the weapon because it allows the average player to compete with or against better players like TV. No change is required whatsoever.

11 RepliesFusion rifles are in a good spot. They are not over powered, nor over used. Shotguns on the otherhand........used a heck of alot. Do I think they should be nerfed because of it? No, but they are in line in front of fusions for the nerf.

It was rare enough that people wouldn't care. A youtuber makes a video and suddenly you'd think fusions are meta and being used by 90% of the player base and omg it needs a nerf. Well, let me tell you something you should have realised by now. Youtubers make content to make money. Because content is dry right now they have to continue to make videos about random shit. Funny that. The game is already heavily broken with how much bungie has to favour hunters. Dont break it some more by asking for another nerf. #SayNoToNerfs

Stop peaking lanes where you hear a loud VOOOOO... or you’re going to eat a ...OOP. Just like how people who push you get “strategically” shotgunned. Fusions are fine. End of story. You can make as many post like this as you want, it won’t ever make them true and you still have never gone positive in upvotes because people don’t agree with you. TV is a great guy and a great player, but I don’t agree with him on this. Fusions are fine.

How to fix fusions: - Remove random spread on buckshot shotguns and increase damage, decreasing max range to, oh... 5-6 meters? - Play around cover, get in close or at distance and shut the FR down before they can charge. But not that TV has complained, might as well shard your FRs now, folks.

1 ReplyThe one I think needs work is erentil. It is the only one that maps me consistently. Increase its spread at longer ranges to help combat its high impact. Other than that, I respect all fusions.
