So I am TERRIFIED of spiders. I hate them with a burning passion.
And in our house we have these big spiders that blend in perfectly with the carpet, are really fast, AND ONLY COME OUT AT NIGHT!!! So for the past week, at night while I'm playing games, I've had 4 spiders race across my room and try to hide. I've killed all 4 of them.
But 2 of them came from IN MY BED!!! UNDERNEATH MY BED!! (I broke my bed frame a while ago, and now the mattress sits on the floor.) The other two came from behind me and ran by my feet. So now I'm a nervous wreck because there are DEFINITELY more of them in my room, and I will never see them or know where they are as I'm sleeping.
I tore apart my room and found no webs or holes in the walls or such. So I have no idea where they are coming from.

6 RepliesThere is a clause in the law and in insurance that makes it perfectly legal to burn your house down due to a spider infestation!

Get you one of those ultrasonic pest repeller things you plug into your outlet. It probably won't really work, but as long as you believe it will work you'll be able to sleep at night. Until you wake up at 3 am covered in spiders that is.

5 RepliesI remember seeing this giant as -blam!- spider chilling on it's web when I was around 5 in Idaho. Like, I shit you not, it was the size of a full grown man's spread hand. It's colors were weird too, mostly vomit yellow with red and green flecks everywhere. My parents swear they never saw it, and I only ever saw it the one time, so I'm not entirely sure it was real but still. Stuck out to me. Is there a point to horrifying you with this tale? Yes. There's always a bigger spider. At least until you get to the Goliath Bird Eating spider. Those things can get as big as a puppy!

7 RepliesI hate bugs with a passion, a hate unknown to all save for the hate that Satan bears against God, the hate drawn from the soul when your earbuds get hooked around a doorknob, a hate that flows more freely than double standards from SJWs, a fury so great the gods of Mt. Olympus could do little to stop me. If there’s a bug in my house and I know about it, I will not rest until its corpse lies at my feet. I cut tally marks into my scalp counting how many insects have met the flat, unforgiving surface of my flyswatter Mjolnir. My life is one soaked in the blood of my enemies. All insects fear me.

1 ReplySpiders and other creepy crawlies apparently do not like peppermint. Do with this information what you will.

I'm not fond of Spiders, but my wife is absolutely petrified of them. Getting quite handy with the old glass + piece of cardboard.

Edited by o r c a: 8/18/2019 10:41:32 AMI have this vivid memory as a kid that I was just sitting on the floor of my room, minding my own business (looking at trading cards I think) when this behemoth spider just runs out from under my bed to under my cabinet on the other side of my room.
It was unsettling

Don't actually mind spiders tho, I think some of the small ones are kind of coot
Set a couple of sticky traps maybe. Or just bug bomb the place.

I fear no spider, I have a cat.

2 RepliesEdited by Sancho: 8/18/2019 7:08:55 AMLook for holes in your mattress. Spiders like to lay clutches of eggs inside them. You're probably sleeping mere millimeters above a spider brood. Also, did you know people eat a spider at least once a night while they sleep? It's true. In your case it's probably more given the whole nest situation. Sweet dreams.

Spiders are cool :( Now termites in the other hand...

Edited by StoneFlare21: 8/18/2019 2:12:25 AMI feel ya man. Those things are just freaking creepy and menacing, I suggest enlisting the help of Nil or Giraffalope. Or just burn the little suckers down, whichever works. In all seriousness though, I hope that things get better at your place, and that you get some good sleep.

Is Jerry among them?

The solution is simple. Burn down the house, that or make NIL stop sending them.
