Bungie, you ruinied recoil on controllers for D2 based on the most idiotic logic.
I.e. recoil doesn't feel good on mouse so let's have none, but on controller recoil feels -blam!-ING GREAT! So let's add more!
In D1 it was fine. I suspect you will get a rude awakening when cross save comes from all the (additional) people complaining if you don't fix this.

Thanks
Edit: I am a PC controller player, and happy to use a worse control method for my extra comfort. But I don't see why I have to also fight the artificially added recoil that makes many guns feel bad (ace of spades?) Compared to mouse, where every hand cannon archetype feels like a precision.
Plus PC gets permanent traction on all boots and adjustable aim sensitivity on ads. Why?
Remember the pc hand cannon recoil bug where for a couple of weeks controller recoil was applied to 150s? PC players were literally crying about how bad it was - welcome to controller world.
Here is a quote from Mark Noseworthy
“For instance, there’s no recoil on guns on PC because recoil on the controller feels really good… With a mouse and keyboard, you don’t want the mouse moving without you moving it, so recoil doesn’t feel good, so there is no recoil on PC.”
When TLW came out there was uproar at the in insane amount of ads recoil on it (don't get me started on "it's a hip fire weapon").
There were dozens of threads, and Bungie (can't remember if dmg or cosmo) said they were looking into it and said "you want recoil to be more like D1". This was the last statement on it by bungie.

Are you going to address this like you promised bungie?

1 ReplySeeing as Gladd was mentioned in this thread, and apprently his opinion that there is no recoil problem, observe the recoil of his Recluse in this gameplay on pc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKSyFLu7Hx0 He is absolutely MAPPING enemies with absolutely no recoil at all, on a 900 rpm SMG that is one of the hardest to control on controller. This is a -blam!-ing joke.

27 RepliesEdited by Smough: 8/7/2019 8:23:12 AMFix it? There’s nothing wrong with it. Controllers get more screen shake and SLIGHTLY less accuracy than keyboard and mouse, if you don’t believe me go shoot at a wall and see where your shots hit, the grouping won’t be much different no matter what you use. But hey, that doesn’t matter much because controllers get so much -blam!-ing aim assist that the increased recoil hardly matters because you’ll always be locked on to your target.

1 ReplyYou can infinitely hold your stick DOWN. On mouse you only have so much room to move down, so that's why... pretty simple answer I thought, but I guess there are some that never used a mouse before in their life.
-
i will say it again. i would like to choose. give me a toggle.
-
2 RepliesWhat are you talking about? Recoil on console is nearly identical to Destiny 1 recoil. Go back and play it yourself if you don't believe me. It was PC recoil that was made lower, not console recoil made higher. That's probably where you're getting confused.
-
6 Replies-blam!- no. Everyone would be complaining about getting mapped by 900 rpm subs, and trash hand cannons even more. Recoil keeps things balanced and in their respective lanes.
-
6 RepliesMad cos bad
-
3 RepliesMeanwhile, recoil doesn't bother people who can compensate quickly. That's why high damage weapons need more skilled players. If you can't handle recoil, save your high stability weapons and use counterbalance mods. Maybe just try to improve.
-
If Mark Noseworthy really said that... he doesn't deserve to be a developer... for any game.

I think that there is an important point about this that is being missed. Nobody is saying that there should be no recoil on controller, but the experience with mouse and controller is so different (this is 100% proven by the vast difference in meta between console and PC) that Bungie's aim to have as much parity as possible accross systems is a fail. In practice this might not matter if you only play mouse, or console, with only PC controller players really getting shafted, but it's a bit galling when you have played on both systems and see how much more satisfying and usable guns feel on mouse - again a fail. Finally, the added recoil on controller is based totally on a fallacy "recoil doesn't feel good on mouse so let's minimise it, but it's easier to control on controller so lets ramp it up" (Bungie have stated this). What kind of ass backwards logic is that? Who thinks controlling more recoil on controller is "more fun". It's like saying to two athletes that the guy who has longer legs should run 110m instead of 100m because it's easier for him. WTF? Last point is that Austringer for some reason has massively lower recoil than every other 140 and almost feels like halfway between a precision and a 150. This hasn't broken the game. All 140s should be like Austringer.

Just turn it off 🤷♂️. Works for me.

Edited by Biitti: 8/8/2019 11:50:54 AMhad to switch titan because recoil bottom tree frontal assault and you have much less recoil +25% damage boost is nice

4 RepliesI'm not a M/KB player, but I'm pretty sure recoil still exists. It's not hard to hold down on the right thumbstick.
-
1 ReplyDo u mean handcannon bloom
-
Holding down the right stick allows for a sorta kinda zen moment feel to most guns. Managing recoil is also a real thing. Also PC has recoil and we have to manage it too. Also, it isn’t that they would rather have PS and XB have more recoil. It’s mouse pad. A lot of times using whisper (pre-nerf), my mouse would leave my mouse pad. You can just hold down the stick. It’s almost easier for you lmao.

3 RepliesEveryone out here really thinking mnk dont get any aim assist smh

It is manifestly unfair that PC has no recoil and get the benefits of traction without the need for traction boots. PC is a dead platform. Stop pandering to them bungo

5 RepliesRecoil isn't the problem, Its the field of view. I would like to see what I am shooting, not the entirety of the Ace of spades
-
12 RepliesOnly people who have played both on PC and on console will agree with you. PC players won't care and console players will tell you to git gud. This will never change man. Just use a mouse and keyboard on PC if you can. You'll get used to it. Lower your sensitivity so you can 180 comfortably with a big mouse movement and go from there. Comfort is key to confidence in your aim. I played on PC a bit and loved it but had to do my Solstice grind on PS4 because that was my main... It was a nightmare... But I did it and am now eagerly awaiting Cross Save so weapons can finally feel good again.
-
Yup false promises and and still no dedicated servers...
-
23 RepliesPC has lower recoil and no aim assist with KB&M. If you want to know what console feels like without aim assist, try shooting at fireteam members while they jump around like a rabbit. That's what it'll be like with less recoil.
-
I was using bottom tree striker last night for gambit for something different and there's a perk where after a melee your recoil pretty much disappears for a short time and oh my gosh it feels so satisfying to shoot a 150 hand cannon without random recoil and it also felt like bloom disappeared as well as i was hitting every head shot even at range
-
3 RepliesTraction needs to be talked about more. I noticed you briefly mentioned it, but as it is rn PC basically gets 3 perks on boots and it would be amazing to give this "perk" to everyone as option instead.
-
6 RepliesThe visual recoil on 140 and 150 handcannons is ridiculous, added with bloom on console, is a joke. Pc players go on about aim assist, but if there was no aim assist for controller the game would literally be unplayable...
