Thinking about getting Hallow knight...
I’ve watched lots of gameplay and think that it’s good. What do y’all think of it?

But when I play it myself, it doesn’t scratch the same itch that I get from playing my favorite ‘Metroidvania’s’. Case in point, I started playing Hollow Knight right after completing Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night ( which I loved ), and Hollow Knight felt horribly mediocre in comparison.[/i]

I've heard excellent things. I just can't bring myself to buy it. I like everything about it except for the environment. I've just never really liked forests or insects or anything themed like that, and I really feel like it would put me off going back to it.

14 RepliesIf unfair and badly made difficulty with zero room for error bother you, just know you won't be able to 100% the game. But all of those sections [i]are[/i] optional. Other than that, Hollow Knight is good. Not great, but definitely good and it's always cheap so you won't regret buying it. Excellent gameplay, excellent music and visuals, excellent characters and dialogue. MOSTLY great boss and enemy design. Narrative and pacing is very poor, and the ending was a huge disappointment. Progression system and map/world design are... pretty good. I've seen better versions of both though. I overall consider Hollow Knight 7/10. I did mostly enjoy my time with it, but not enough to play again or complete to full. Take all this whichever way you will.
