You might as well try and make 'fetch' happen, for all the luck you're going to have: Bungie decided a long time ago to prioritize PvP (although strangely not pay for dedicated servers), mostly because it's easier and cheaper to tweak minor changes in game balance for PvP than it is to make fun, engaging PvE content. ;P Destiny PvP would be a lot more fun on dedicated/cloud servers only: this whole relying on client and exposing people's IP addresses to DDoSers, is really not my idea of a fun PvP experience.
-
Or...OR...Dont.
-
Nah, they should remove PvE entirely
-
That wouldn't work either, because it's the mixed-PvE/PvP elements of Destiny 1 and 2 that distinguish them from other FPS games. That being said, I would totally buy a standalone version of Destiny 2 PvP that ran on dedicated servers, and ignore PvE completely, since I'm not about to waste my life sitting around on LFG sites trying to find that one group of people who aren't trolls, cheaters, assholes, reactionaries (i.e. racists, misogynists, ableists, homophobes/transphobes, capitalists, etc.) to maybe be able to fit into their work-life schedule a large enough time slot to maybe finish a Raid to maybe get a half-decent Raid weapon/armor that maybe will totally not drop at all. ;P

What I said was satire lol
-
if you don't like it don't play, you don't need rewards from crucible for leveling so no point in this comment
-
Crucible is in a really shity state right now. If it gets removed it would solve the nerf/buff problems in PvE. I love PvP, but I hate it in D2 only!
-
Bungie claim to be able to balance PvE and PvP sandboxes separately, so if they're not doing that, it's because they were either lying, are incompetent, or are deliberately doing it this way for... reasons. Maybe not good reasons. But taking away PvP won't fix PvE balance issues, as recent changes to fastest shotguns and other popular PvE strats were toned down because they melt bosses too quickly.

Wait so sleeper, whisper, super exotics, got nerfed becasue of PvP?
-
Wait so sleeper, whisper, super exotics, got nerfed becasue of PvP?
Technically, original nerf to Sleeper was due to the PvP element in Gambit. Some nerfs are because of PvP and some nerfs are because Bungie are incapable of developing decent and original mechanics. People need to stop blaming every nerf on PvP.
-
Except it's because of PvE, too, that a lot of weapons have gotten nerfed.
-
It is not PvP's fault that Bungie doesn't know how to separate balance changes.
-
Edited by Krantzstone: 7/5/2019 10:36:29 PMBungie claimed (officially, I believe) that they can balance the PvE and PvP sandboxes separately. My guess is that this is all part of game balance practice and design for a future D3 (or major upgrade to D2) which involves open world mixed-PvE/PvP, like Gambit and Gambit Prime but in an open world setting, running on the cloud, where all players in all activities will be on one humongous world where areas and activities are seamless and not instanced.
-
Yeah, they either mentioned it in the Q&A or the ViDoc for Shadowkeep. I'm worried for PvE/PvP open world stuff like the Dark Zone in this game.
-
that makes basically PvP responsible (in D2).
-
that makes basically PvP responsible (in D2).
Ummm, no it doesn't. Bungie chooses not to separate the balance changes.
-
It wasn't perfect in D1 either til the end.
-
I never played D1, so...
-
so remember me the nerf's on pve thanks to pvp? i remember only luna atm
-
what has luna to do with this?
-
i just ask you the nerf's thank's to pvp destroyed a gun on pve, i remember only luna
-
Edited by Madness Tus: 7/5/2019 9:54:09 AMLuna was meant to be a Pvp weapon so pve does not have any say
-
there are way more than just Luna and don’t forget why most supers are so week in PvE!
-
Majority of nerfs as of late are due to pve. This whole pvp thing cant be used as an excuse anymore. The last pass on nerfs only lunas and nf got pvp nerfs whereas whisper sleeper all super generating exotics got nerfed because of pve
