I’m disappointed
I’m extremely disappointed in what I saw today in offtopic.
I’m not saying what, but I will say that it was multiple things that really made me tick.
Some people apologized for their actions and I forgive and cherish them for it, and others had made terrible choices that made me feel shame.
This is not the offtopic I once enjoyed.
Edit: well I didn’t want to say this before but I have personal experience with that happened with the joking. Thanks dickheads.

I am not making light of your situation in the least, but you have to understand that dark humor is how some people cope with heavy shit they are not able to handle without going mad. It seems disrespectful, but it is what keeps their minds from breaking over what they are experiencing and as we all know, we all experience things differently. I use a lot of dark humor, personally. It helps me deal with things I am not wanting to deal with. I had 3 different cancer scares over the last few years and last year we found out that my daughter had a rare genetic disorder, with the most rare version giving her until she was 21 as her max age. We used our new home deposit to get the test to find out that thankfully, she doesn't have the worst case. My baby girl is 8 going on 9 years old and she lives in pain every day. All she wants is to be a normal girl with friends and not to have to wear braces for a lot of her joints. She cries herself to sleep half the week, from pain and depression and I have to struggle to keep my sanity together for her, yet still raise her right. So I make jokes with her. We make jokes about her wheel chair that she has to use sometimes. We make jokes about being gimpy and limpy. We make these jokes together, so that I don't lose my mind and she doesn't cry herself to sleep every night. So please understand, you may not approve of them and their content may hurt you, but they may also be what is keeping others from shattering. If you don't want to hear them, then you have to be open about why, it sucks, but people understand then and most will try to not say it in front of you and when you encounter a post about it, you have to close your eyes and walk away. It is not a perfect solution, but it is one that will earn you respect from those of us who know & understand.

Listen. Your rightfully disappointed, but don’t forget it was meant as a joke, no one was serious. Was it too far. I don’t know Was he serious? No Should someone joke like that again? Probably not. But don’t lose faith because of someone’s sense of humor.
