Funny, I don't recall quite so much hatred for how you needed motes of light for both infusion and unlocking perks on gear in D1. Yet people hate cores with a purple passion. Didn't you guys play D1?

As you can see, Bungie succeeded in brainwashing these zombies who are more than happy to do extra chores for cores, ignoring the fact that Bungie themselves, many times, including last Vidoc, said that they "want to encourage build diversity". Waiting till you're max light to infuse in order to horde cores is not "encouraging build diversity" for 2 reasons: - by the time you're max light, you've already played through most of the new content, so it won't be as meaningful or enjoyable infusing your preferred build afterwards. - we're forced to carry a build that we don't like, in the process of leveling up, so as to save up cores, which makes the game less enjoyable. You're gonna lose more matches in Gambit, for example, because you have to carry the highest power level weapons, instead of the best weapons for your build. Cores are literally opposed to what they claim is their objective "encourage build diversity". It's not impossible to get cores while leveling up, however, it's not sustainable in the long run, unless you make chasing cores a fulltime chore. I had over 100 about a month ago and decided to try "build diversity" as I leveled up. I'm down to 40 now. It's not enjoyable to chase enhancement chores instead of playing the parts of the game I want to play, the WAY I wanna play them. Some core bounties ask for kills with Sniper which again goes against the point of "encouraging build diversity". That some players can't see the huge contradiction in this, is astounding ... until you remind yourself that they are conditioned not to think through things. Most people these days are zombies, who are more than ok with slaving for the powers that be. They can't help it at this point. Its part of their conditioning. Some people are not playing the game, they are working in the game, but don't realize it.

They shouldn't have ever been used as an added grind other than to masterwork because they do not benefit this game one bit. Not only have they become a useless material Bungie increased the cost to masterwork since they were introduced and increased the cost to infuse since this season dropped. So here comes the gamers saying, "Bungie was listening and gave more ways to acquire them", but are blind to see it's just like when minimum wages and taxes go up. Sure some get more money but then they soon realize everything else in this world you pay for goes up as well leaving you (no further) then you were when nothing was changed. Then you have the ones that say, "I have plenty of them" So, good for you, you're not a new gamer and it shows there is nothing to use them on worth getting raid ready or anything at all if you "have to hold on to them", as if this game was created to have to hold plenty of cores for something special😄 Then again because there is nothing to use them on and you already spent 24-7 in this game that you have most everything leveled up. I know this for a fact because 90% of the gear in this game is not used at all. So what are you hanging on to these cores for if you have nothing to use them for? I could go on but this cores system is broken period. There is no justifying the lack of loot to use them on and they are not a form of currency that they literally became a useless material. End of story. Edit: If by chance Bungie removes them, they should put it back to how things were prior to this. It's super easy to get cores now, doing the gunsmith bountys daily and weekly nets you 15 cores a week now. Plus mods. Just smartly infuse. Sounds like a lazy player problem to me. *shrug*

Not sure if anyone has stated the math on cores. Right now if you have 3 characters. Simply playing 1 hour a day across your characters will get you 63 cores a week doing whatever activity you want to do whether it be patrols, spelunking, strikes, raids, whatever. 63 cores a week just to do 3 bounties a day per character that says use this gun type and they finish pretty quickly. If you just buy 1 a day from Spider that gets you 70. It's obviously not going anywhere, but there are good options now.

To all the people who say “they are not a problem” please explain WHY you want them to be required for infusion? The only excuse i can think of is that you want infusion to be more “meaningful” but what does that even mean anymore when your definition of meaningful is “make it more expensive” or “oh you have to think before you infuse now” which are both stupid arguments, let me explain. Light level always has and always will be a activity requirement and thats about it. Literally thats all it does, it gives you the ability to access and even do activities. So now lets look at infusion, its a mechanic to take gear you currently like and take a higher light level gear and trash it to take its current light level and replace the lower level gears current light level. So you can use gear you like in higher level activities, and thats ALL its for. Nothing else. The only other thing light level is good for is iron banner which would mean that these are players who want to stomp lower light level players or players who don’t have good gear on. So now that we have come to this point where we know how infusion is just a way for players to use the gear they like, WHY would you want to make infusion require a currency that is super rare and that you can only get 1 of in bounties? Keep in mind that master working costs 15 cores already and infusion for a complete set is 16 cores not taking into account how many times you need to infuse to get as close to the requirements as possible and keep in mind that most teams for raids and such REQUIRE specific weapons or they kick you out so infusion is required most of the time. So WHY again does infusion need a price hike? If the excuse is that masterworks would be to easy to obtain then increase the rarity of masterwork cores or increase the price even further because generating orbs every two kills or a 0.001% increase in defense against a specific element is not a priority.

I see where you are coming from but I kind of get the other side as well it forces people to use gear that they wouldn't normally use I think that is a good thing but the other side to that argument is why should I be forced to use something I don't want use. So I'm kind of indifferent. But I think it's kind of unfair to say "not to ignore the customers" sens I don't think they are hardcore ignoring us I just think they are scared to listen to a vocal minority and I don't rly see people speaking up about this and 350 up votes on the forums is nothing considering how large this community is.

This just shows how Bungie lied about the [b]community[/b] being a group that decides the future of the game in their vidoc. It only seems that the two groups that decide the future of this game are Bungie themselves and the streamers who do not represent us in any way.

I haven't played the game since they started that infusion crap. I dread the thought of having to equip certain gear just to level up. I would rather have the old infusion system back and be able to play with the gear I want to play with.
