I have played my fair share of gambit prime for the past month or so, and while the mechanics in the game mode and the set bonuses for the armor is fine where it is, the player roles for the game mode needs to be emphasized a bit more. There have been multiple occasions where a player with a certain role like sentry or someone who doesn't have any of the armor would constantly hog the available invasions without letting anyone else who was actually an invader play their role. It is also a bit counterintuitive to be able to wear different armor sets at once and being able to swap them freely during the match to gain the benefits of each one (in addition to using synths). I understand that people don't have time to grind Reckoning to obtain the gear and there are moments when they may need to play a different role to benefit the team, but there still needs to be some type of balance so that people with the set bonuses who are not with a premade team can comfortably contribute to the game without their job being interfered with by their own teammate.
Edit: I understand that my suggestions may not be perfect, but I just want some improvements to the roles to make them not too overwhelming or underwhelming to play with in game.

2 RepliesArmor? That’s all I’ve got. I literally have not received one scout rifle, pulse rifle or the auto rifle.

1 ReplyEdited by Phoenix: 6/2/2019 4:11:02 AMUnrelated to gambit armor, but aren't they going to throttle powerful bounties from the Drifter next season?

3 RepliesGambit prime can be fun but for the most part it's a truly broken game mode invader locks the bank and hides dont even need to attack . Sentry should eliminate this this way the invader needs to attack I'm no developer but I would have seen this in development .

11 RepliesSlight disagreement on armour bonuses - invader bank lock is too powerful and has no countermeasure. If Sentry's suit gave him and override field, that would be nice. Sometimes invader just freaking trolls you without attacking. Reckoning is (till the end of season) fairly easy for anyone who isn't titan. So if you hunter or warlock getting armour is not hard. Not entertaining, but clearly not hard. Unless game goes full derp on you as it did for me and forced me to make 35 Reckoning 3 runs to get my first and only Reaper chest piece. As for actual roles/suits equipped, there could be additional UI overlay, simple coloured dots, telling you if your team-mates play particular role, or they playing traffic light. I understand FOV on consoles is small, thus screen is somewhat clogged, but these dots could be transparent and placed somewhere along XP bar, to minimize obstruction, or when you summon your ghost - placed along nicknames.

2 RepliesI like to being able to switch from collector to the other three roles when the primevil is summoned. You literally bring nothing to the team as collecter during the boss fase. So either add something to the boss fase for the collector role or leave it as is. As for Sentry I hoped he did more against invaders. Yeah you mark them but only if you hit him first. While he can see through walls without doing stuff. Most of the time the invader has killed the sentry with a sniper or something. The sentry needs more to counter the invader. Right now it doesn't matter what roles the team has. Invader can one shot all of em just as easy. Despite being a sentry or not.

Im running with 3 reaper and 2 invader, or 2 and 2, depending on if I run an exotic. The collector and sentry perks needs some love.

1 ReplyMaybe if Bungie took out the medal requirement for the 3 armor sets ( I believe invader doesn't have one), and replaced it with something in line to the specific role, it might help. Massacre medal for reaper could be replaced with most kills in match. The sentry locksmith could be most blockers killed in match. The collector half-banked medal could be most motes deposited in a match. Most of the individual requirements for each set are on par IMO, but adjusting the medal requirements with something else would be beneficial for the sets.

I wear sentry all the time because I love the yellow glow and marking invaders can be very useful as a solo player. But I have bounties too....get a team. It's the only solution.
