My guess is either Savathun, the Vanguard, or a buildup for the Deep. Well, more buildup I guess, but directly talking about it and what it could do.

I wonder if they will do the taken queen, she is probably going to be massive. She will make the missions very hard, or at least we hope so.

I totally agree with you archival that we will fight savathun. My personal theory is that we get darkness powers in Y3 to go along with our light powers, making us truly balanced. But then in D3 the traveler will get destroyed or mortally wounded and we will be forced to solely rely on the darkness to get us through. But hey, that’s just a theory. A gAmEr ThEoRy!

Opulence starting on a full curse week, screenshots showing the leviathan in what looks like the Ascendant plane, the hive presence and that big ass hydra are all hinting at something. ...or maybe not, we'll see.

I actually think you're probably very correct about the whole Savathun thing, I mean everything points to that. Not only that, but ever since the curse started we've been having names with the suffixes of "Daughter of Savathun" or "Servant of Xivu Arath" but not only that, because I know many people likely haven't read the books of sorrow, there also happen to be taken enemies that have the name "Quria" attached to them. Now let me say this, for those that haven't read the books of sorrow, I highly HIGHLY recommend so as they're incredibly interesting lore, but that aside allow me to explain Quria at least a bit for those that have only seen the name in-game. Quria, Blade Transform is a Vex Axis Mind that was created by the Vex when Crota used his sword to cut himself into a different part of space. Quria specifically was created to allow the Vex to understand the sword logic the hive used to become so powerful, eventually leading to the Vex gaining this understanding and using it to create forms that basically abided by this principle. These new forms were more specialized for combat and (from my best guess anyway) are likely the reason the Vex even have the forms that we see them in during our play, as the Vex by nature tend to favor creation and manipulation of space and time, as can be seen from their massive structures on Nessus, IO, and Venus as well as their constant endeavors to use reality simulations to further their knowledge, though now of course to gain tactical advantages in their efforts to slaughter. For a century Quria and Crota fought within this space that he had entered (unbeknownst to him at first this happened to actually be the throne world of Oryx himself after Savathun tricked Crota) eventually resulting in Oryx being recalled to this world to finish the conflict. More stuff happens in between but to cut this short basically Quria attempts to simulate Oryx to understand this but ultimately fails, leading to the Axis Mind being Taken by Oryx. After some time Oryx then gifted Quria to Savathun so that she could study it, though leaving it with a fragment of free will to allow it to "surprise them". Flash forward an unknown amount of time later from this point to where we are now, with the dreaming city in a constant reality loop (with the same fidelity as only a Vex Mind would be able to achieve, as Osiris apparently told Petra) and the Taken ravaging the city DESPITE us slaying Oryx within his throne world. What could this all mean? Well a few things actually. You see, Savathun and Xivu Arath could have retrieved the Tablets of Ruin from the corpse of Oryx. They told of how he performed the magic he did, and he ever constantly wore them around his waste almost like a belt. Now, nothing of course is to say that Savathun or Xivu Arath ever could decipher, read, or even use these Tablets... but what if they could? At least Savathun? This would most certainly explain why more Taken enemies than ever have begun to emerge with some sort of "Savathun" attached to their name. Not only this, but hive warriors of Xivu Arath (and some taken warriors) have begun to emerge within the city and are working together it would seem... From the looks of it these are the few things I speculate: 1. Savathun is now in control of the Taken in the absence of Oryx 2. Savathun and Xivu Arath and working to either take hold of Oryx's lost position, or are simply avenging their brother (the second part is unlikely if you've seen how these 3 siblings interact) 3. Savathun is using Quria (a Taken Vex Axis Mind) in order to trap the dreaming city into a reality loop until Savathun figures out how to win (and possibly how to eliminate the Queen) 4. These two, or mainly Savathun, are likely going to be our main enemies in the coming tale That of course is all just speculation though. Nonetheless if you got here thanks for reading all of that! I'd love to see Savathun and the Dreadnaught for Y3! Everything has pointed to it. To me, D2 has felt like the entire game is a build up to Savathun in the last year. It can't and shouldn't be any other way

My guess is that the next annual pass will start with a bigger content drop that will take off from where Foresaken ended and kill off Savathun. Over the following two seasons we'll get more low key taken build up while Bungie sums The Crypt and Bray Tech in one season, whatever that crazy schizophrenic warmind is in another season, and end with the culmination of the taken saga with a fight with Xivu Arath. I would think the goal would be to tie up all of the loose ends plot wise so they can start D3 with the epic battle between the traveler's light and the darkness/triangle ships.
