So now that the truth to power book is finally completed we still have one final question unanswered, who was sending us the messages all this time? Personally I think it was Quira, mostly because I want her to become an ally but also because I hate the whole "you remember who you are when you're away from the Light" theory. So what do you guys think?

22 RepliesEdited by Alphard: 5/15/2019 10:18:51 PMSavathun feeds off of trickery and lies, thats the 1st point. Her power also comes from the fact that she is the only one who knows the entire truth. Whoever holds the Truth, holds the Power, hence the name of the book. She is feeding off of us as we speak with this book. Its kind of obvious. The whole book goes in circles about who's actually talking to you, further confusing and tricking you. The book also is urging us (the Guardian) to find the entrance to the Distributary. It would be pretty convenient for our guardian to find it, convenient for Savathun that is. Pretty enticing, don't you think? I know that book certainly peeked my curiosity about finding it, but that's exactly what Savathun wants. This whole book is just another trap. Not the first time Savathun tricked us. We were tricked into killing Riven and releasing the curse. Now we have this book thats telling us that "its our destiny as guardians" to find the Distributary, and then at the end of the book it does a 180 and goes, "Disregard all the stuff I said." That sort of reverse psychology makes people even MORE curious. I'm certain that the whole book is just Savathun messing with us. By the looks of it, its working. Savathun has a lazer pointer called the Dreaming City and Truth to Power, and we're all the cats. Even Riven saw Savathuns true plan, and is scared, and hopes Savathun remains playful. This is just fun for Savathun. She's toying with our ambitions. Also, that whole prophecy to defeat Dul Incaru at level 999 to end the curse sounds like another trap. The wording is weird. It states that to see THE END OF THE DREAMING CITY you must do this. I don't think us defeating Dul solo at level 999 is going to end the curse, but instead, have devastating effects on us and the city.

We know for a fact from Stolen Intelegence that the speaker wasn't Eris, Medusa was also confirmed to be a fabrication of TtP's narrator, and I doubt Riven is the "web of lies" type. Deceptive, sure, but only to a point. So its likely either the Witch Queen, her daughter or her pet. I've got money on the Cunning one herself, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was Quria managed to muster up some will of their own. Perhaps it started out as Quria and Savathûn discovered their interactions with the Guardian and made the most of the situation to instill doubt in their mind.

3 RepliesThe lore subreddit is in somewhat agreement that it is Savatûn and all of this speculation on "who could it be" is exactly what she wants. Her sole purpose is trickery, and that's what she's done with Truth to Power. For me, a solid piece of evidence is the final word in the whole book, "Aiat". This word has only been shown to us in the Book of Sorrows which was written by Oryx. The longer we speculate and investigate this book, the stronger Savatûn will get.

My one concern about this game is the lore, they openly admitted they never knew what the darkness was in D1, now we are 2 years in on D2 and still no further forward. I really hope they tie all these lose ends together, really hoping season of opulence tidies up the Calus story line without it turning all scooby do.

1 ReplyI say it was multiple creatures, Quira and Dul Incarnu are the main ones that come to mind, Savathun could have sent a message too, to move our eyes to the wrong direction.

A disturbing amount of people picked the two authors we know it wasn’t. Though honestly it could be the three remaining players, Dul Incaru, Quria and Savathûn. Though it’s most likely the latter.

3 RepliesVery tricky, especially because we have messages that are apparently from several of these characters. But the truth still eludes us, and without it we have no power…

4 RepliesSavathun. It was her wish to be granted an audience with Queen Mara to discuss their situations. (at least twice) They met again after our Guardian visited. The whole "the presence of the Traveler's Chosen is disrespectful to my next guest." Which means they already met previously before we went and killed Riven.

12 RepliesDefinitely Eris

9 Replies<Well, it ain't Eris and it literally cannot be Medusa who doesn't exist. Riven seems unlikely as well as Dul Incaru because if the latter was aware of the cycle she should at least attempt to be in a different place every time. Savathun seems likely due to her nature and Quria because it's the perfect "betrayal/cover-up your involvement" scenario.>
