No third option. I'm actually curious.
I'm always rehearsing conversations in my head, thinking or imagining things for games and writings, working through problems or plans, and I'll read certain people either in forums or books and what not with specific voices.
Well, in another thread someone suggested that most people don't do that. I didn't think it was anything unique, I thought everyone had it, and I'd never even thought otherwise until they mentioned it...
So I figured I'd ask you lot because why not?

Both and neither. I see and hear my thoughts but if I'm working on things I don't have visual or auditory thoughts at all.

2 RepliesThere's like 5 different voices I use when thinking about stuff.

Idk I can’t really describe it. I can see and hear my thoughts.
-
Usually see anything that comes through my mind. If it is how something works, probably looks like a 3d render of the mechanisms and stuff. Or just visualize the chain of events I am reading in a book. Or simply see the memory as if it were a replay

I'm constantly talking in my head, but as an artist, I'm still a very visual thinker. I guess both would be the answer for me.
I didn't think it was anything unique
cuz it probably isn’t It really depends on what I’m thinking about.

4 RepliesEdited by xxx: 5/15/2019 7:58:22 AMI usually see the whole scenario play out, no matter what it is and even though I hear the words, I also see like a comic book bubble above their heads and the words flow into it. Edit: This just occurred to me, but I am also just drifting through conversations half asleep right now, so they play out almost like a waking dream. It is trippy as hell.

2 RepliesI can see vivid images when i think and hear what i think

I tend to daydream a lot, so I see my thoughts quite often. Usually I'd be able to hear them if there's not a whole lot of noise going on. I think about my stories in an animated or video game format (which help me visualize what I'm writing about a lot).
-
If it's conversation that I'm thinking about then I hear it. And then I'm immediately terrified that I may blurt out what I'm thinking. But I usually see what I'm thinking.

2 RepliesMy head has a very nice neutral announcer voice that says my thoughts and I can’t imagine it ANY other way

Well there are different voices for the different languages I know. SoI think in French and English.

I've a tendency to act out scenarios in thought before conversing with others. Though as someone who users sign language for communication, I interpret signing and patterns of a visual nature. Instead too what people say as an inner voice. (≧艸≦*)

1 ReplySee, but I also think in words. So maybe both?

Edited by Sealed Graffiti: 5/15/2019 2:18:29 AMYep, sometimes I even act out scenes of things that happen, even if they have nothing to do with anything in the day... For example once I was just talking and I randomly pictured a person asking for help in math while they weren’t even in the vicinity, I didint even speak to them or anything... My brain is very cluttered and has constant “hearing” and “seeing” of random things everyday, literally everyday.. Though it’s not only random but I also see and hear stuff related to to the stuff that’s happening, so in short yes, i do hear/see thing in my head daily about all kinds of stuff, related or not... depends what I'm thinking of...

When I was in middle school I was home alone thinking about my crush and I just heard her yell my name so I freaked out and looked everywhere and I was legit scared.

2 RepliesYes, sometimes. I used to associate numbers with an image in my mind with a specific color gradient and spacial position. It’s hard to explain. This was only for a few numbers. Roughly -10 to 12. I realized, as I thought about this, that it kinda stopped. But that might be because I don’t do a whole lot of math since I finished school. I also associate music, people or scents with specific memories or places. Always pictured in my head visually. I guess that’s not uncommon, but it’s still a thing. The song doesn’t even have to be related to the place. Some songs I associate with the way I felt when I listen to them the most. Not like emotional, but kinda just how existing felt during that time. Again, it’s hard to explain.
