Why does every cool exotic mission have to have a timer and jumping puzzles? It sucks all the fun out of the quest.

Having a timer on these missions just makes them frustrating, and impossible for 99% of the player base. The jumping puzzles make it even more annoying. Every time you guys do something cool, you ruin it. [b] EDIT: I got it and the catalyst.👌[/b]

      • I don't understand the issue here. The quest is amazing, it's a good mix of add clearing and some somewhat challenging platforming with a spice of unique mechanics sprinkled in. To put it simply, git gud.

        • I don't have a problem with timers in general, but the fact that almost EVERYTHING in this game is on some kind of timer at this point.....is getting tiresome. Its an ego-move by the devs. In a interview back in 2017 with Jon Weisznewski, he mentioned that there was this constant tension between the Sandbox team and the devs who created activities. They resented the amount of power that players were given, because they wanted their content to be "challenging". So...it seems they've settled on Timers as a form of artificial difficulty by demanding that you move through the area at a certain speed.....and deal out damage at a particular rate.....or else you fail. Its another in a long line of moves by Bungie devs to orchestrate and micro-manage the player experiece of the game. Limiting player choice, player freedom and player creativity with respect to how to engage the game.

          • Jumping puzzles are annoying but doable, but yeah timers suck, they just make you rush through everything i think. I'd understand if the boss fight was timed but the rest shouldn't have a time limit to explore the place.

          • I was hoping if they did another whisper type mission that it would be different. This one looks different but functions the same way. Kill enemies then do jumping puzzle for half of time then dps boss and clear ads. I was hoping they would ditch the jumping puzzle for something different. The puzzle isnt to difficult this time though it's just the electric part right before the boss at the end that sucks. This was a raid exotic so I do agree that it should be something difficult to obtain for the solo player. I just wanted something unique instead of the same old copy and paste whisper mission with different enemies.

          • Clearly not impossible, either you or your teammates, or both need to just get better and move faster clearing the adds and getting through the puzzle and such. I did it in about 5 tries with a group with plenty of time on the clock, change your strategy and try again, don't assume 99% of people can't because rthwts not true in the slightest

          • The jumping puzzles and the timer are literally the only thing that makes this mission exciting, it gives it personality.

            • I have it on my warlock played a little bit of crucible afterwards as well it's not that bad once you have a chill team to run it with join a clan or ask your clans mates that's what clans do is play together. Don't be shy make some video game friends relax also. Frustration makes you play worse I used to figure,hardlight, and hammer head with slova bomb and skull. Good luck to if you don't get it right away try again you will get it. 😎

              • I know I’m so sick of timers can’t even enjoy looking around the old tower got to hurry up hurry up and that’s not fun to me. Just my opinion. I don’t even have the masterwork for the sniper on the other stupid timed mission. I got a feeling they will have to adjust this mission there’s waaay too many yellow bar and ways to get lost. Well at least I was excited for the new gun for the hour I spent getting up to the bs part. Back to crucible......

If you blame your failures purely on something else and don't consider the possibility that you -blam!-ed up then you will never be able improve upon yourself and be better.

                  The jumping part was easy as hell. Maybe all this time playing Metroid Prime has paid off because I never struggle with jumping puzzles. This mission took a couple of tries with randoms, but I felt it was just right. I haven't attempted the heroic version yet though.

                    • Jump puzzles with time limit is worst game design possible. THIS IS FPS. FIRST PERSON SHOOTER. When people launch FPS they expect to be shooting tons of enemies. I want to game designer who continuously putting this crap in quests will play it by self for at least 1000 hours. This is not fun. This is work for exotic.
