Extend Outbreak Mission Timer

Not everybody has time to play for three hours or are able to find a capable team.

  • I played with two randoms off LFG none of us were real experienced on what to do... we finished it on our second attempt (1st attempt the party leader dc'ed) we finished with 4:30 left.... it doesn't need a timer increase just practice

  • It would be better if they had a timed version which also rewards you with a nice emblem and an exotic sparrow as well as an untimed one that just rewards the weapon. A fair compromise, I think.

    • Try joining a clan. My guys are really active and we have teams going for all activities. The timer gives a sense of urgency and decision making. Really fun in my opinion.

      • No. I'm a mother who only get on a few hours a night, and I practiced and practiced until I got it. Didn't get it the first night, but got it last night. Thats what practice is for. If I can do it, anybody can.

        • Well, bungie already admitted a ways back that is too hard for them to make content. And I agree, timed missions suck, you can't explore the new location, which I'm sure wasn't cheap to design and make, and it only adds a artificial sense of difficulty and pressure. Slower players or if you will "casual" players, which I count myself to, want to spend their time playing a game for fun, timing missions is not fun, it's a cheap way when you can't think of something creative to put in your work. I want to take my time, I want to see the environment, I want to snipe shit with my rifle, I want to fight, I don't want to run a damn labyrinth under timed pressures just because bungies shitty writing can't come up with something better. Dropping the timer from the normal version would give the existence of the quest some validation, as of now its useless and wasted potential of just a blur when running through it. End of line.

            Remove that stupid timer from this one and the whisper one, it serves no purpose in a game like this, it only alienates slower paced players, you can't even enjoy the new places with it : /

              • How about they remove the timer, gamers stop giving the streamers the attention they don't need and learn to run the event by themselves. IMO this would allow gamers to enjoy the new area spending time playing the game how they want to, to an extent. (Imagine, playing a game how you want to or an event, hmm.) It wouldn't hurt Bungie because streamers made it easy just like they made it easy to acquire Whisper. I may be repeating this but this is how I feel about it even though I haven't run it yet. It's actually self-explanatory on what this event has become and that is another speed run. I don't know about anyone else but I got sick of speed running strikes because they offer nothing but completing a bounty so I can move on and not bother with them. Don't get me wrong, it's good that they are adding new things to the game but for whoever sake let the gamers enjoy living it for a bit and not just create something that is short-lived.

                • I think there should be a compromise here. Personally, it's pretty stupid there are a couple spots purposefully made to slow you down. They're not puzzles to solve but actual things to practically stop you. The lifts after the maze, anyone? On top of that, I would have liked to take my time and explore the place. To really enjoy the combat and stroll around a little. Would have been the perfect time to hide secrets in such a revisited area plus the new areas you explore. So what compromise? Well, ideally, you should have about 5-6 minutes minimum when you get to the boss room. So why not start the timer then? The moment someone drops into the room, a 6-minute timer begins. That way, there's still the challenge of having to beat everybody there before the time runs-out but you can actually enjoy the rest of Rendezvous. 6 minutes would be just right, too. If you're all on your A-game and making every shot count, you'll have about 45 seconds to a minute remaining. But for average players going in, you'll have 30 seconds or less remaining. The boss room is the only part that actually needs to be the crunch. Wouldn't really change anything when it comes to the tough part and being on a timer. But it would allow players to practice before they join a group as well as explore and just take it all in. I have Outbreak Perfected. But I didn't have fun on the mission. It was annoying. I would have had fun if I could have taken my time up to the boss room then had the timer kick-in and push for that every-shot-matters kinda rush. That would have been fun.
