NOTE: THIS IS ABOUT PVE, NOT PVP
Bungie we need help. I’ll try to keep this post short by saying this: Titans don’t bring anything to the table compared to what hunters or warlocks bring to endgame activities.
Hunters are fantastic at controlling enemies and being able to annihilate huge groups of enemies in very little time. Warlocks are great at supporting the fireteam with their Well and can keep throwing nova bombs again and again to also clear a large amount of enemies in a small amount of time.
What are titans used for? Melting point for sure, but hunters can also do this along with having 1 person using tractor cannon. What about Ward of Dawn? Well of Radiance beats bubble in every aspect. How about sentinel + ursas? Nerfed to the ground. You need to block a MASSIVE amount of damage if you want even just half of your super back. While skull of Ahamkara replenishes super in just a few kills and Orpheus rigs being able to replenish super insanely fast in endgame activities.
How about we compare the properties of every super a titan has vs the supers of other classes
Thunder crash < Nova Bomb or Blade Barrage
Fist of Havoc < any other super
Sentinel shield < also any other super
Ward of Dawn < Well of Radiance
Hammers < also any other super
Burning Maul < again, any other super
Burning Maul doesn’t do enough damage
Hammer of Sol lasts too short
Thunder crash doesn’t do nearly as much damage compared to nova bomb and blade barrage. It also has very slow travel time
Fist of Havoc just isn’t good
Middle tree sentinel shield doesn’t provide enough of a buff from weapons of light to make up for one fireteam member’s worth of damage. It also cancels out other buffs
Please Bungie, we titans need to bring something that no other class can bring in activities.

Yeah we could use a small buff but all in all #TITANMASTERRACE

9 RepliesI remember in most D1 raids a bubble titan was almost necessary at launch. I don't understand how blatant they are about rendering titans sub par, they even joke about it in the Phoenix protocol lore tab
-
4 RepliesSo basically you're just paraphrasing Datto's recent video...

Bungie hates warriors (Titans) because these classes portray character elements that remind Bungie executives and leaders of what they can never amount to. Laugh all you want, but I really truly believe the problem goes psychologically so. These are developers, after all, who hired psychologists in order to find ways to artificially and superficially make the gameplay elements more addictive than they're worth.

Here is what I suggest. Make Bannershield deployable like a barricade, allowing for the player to add their DPS as well Seriously buff Thundertickles damage to the point of it doing more damage than nova bomb and blade barrage but less than celestial nighthawk Add new perks to Ward of Dawn like adding blessing of light by default and make it a “Panic Room” Super, where you essentially create a space where team mates can regroup and re arm safely. It could also (possibly) act as a “taunt”, and draw enemy fire so your team can DPS or just chill for a bit For the roaming supers, I dunno. I feel like Fists of Havoc is good when you want to get rid of low level adds and it has great neutral game. Hammer of Sol and Burning maul are great for higher level adds and sometimes bosses, but don’t last as long Sentinel shield is a mixture of both.

If only bungie would change sentinel mid tree super to a giant barrier that gives weapons of light and we can shoot through it
-
Buff thunder crash damage in PvE; it's a one and done super that should have a heavy focus on single target damage. Trample does too good of a job for thundercrash to take over as an ad wipe super. Weapons of light from mid tree sentinel should provide a bigger buff; all it does right now is block damage and an eh damage buff. The damage buff should be significant enough to be worth not damaging boss or enemies. Also buff burning maw duration because why not, it's kinda bad rn.

Still waiting for Bungle response.... Oh wait they don't give a flying -blam!- about Titans.
-
They don’t give a -blam!- about Titans. Hunters have been the pinnacle class since Day 1 and always will be. I’ve accepted it and now treat Destiny as a side game when I get bored of fortnite and other new games. Same Bungie... different year
-
Don’t worry, they’ll address all of this in 4-5 months

3 RepliesHow about we take away titan supers since the all suck in exchange for an awsome neutral game. Give all titan classes double grenades, the synthoceps mele damage perk (intrinsic, no exotic required), 50% more resiliency, 50% more recovery, and the ability to carry heavy weapons in two slots with 50% higher amo reserves. Boom. A usefully titan who can do what a titan is supposed to do, and would be useful in group pve activities.
-
8 RepliesThunder crash should be stronger than Nova. It should have the largest blast radios of all supers. You throw yourself in point blank. There should be nothing left standing. If nothing else bunghole buff the pve side of it. Just my opinion
-
I think titans are in an ok(?) place. They do absolutely need a damage buff over all super and ability wise in pve. Titans as in the lore provided support and offense. The way i see it is the warlock is the medic coming in to hold the team up, while the hunter is the front line firemen, and the titan is the wall where the guns are fired from, but also has its own offensive capabilities.

An exotic gauntlet for the titan. Sacrifice all grenades, melee and class abilities ( must all be charged first ). Then throw a massive javalin at a boss that applies a weapons of light buff. Probibly a bad idea but throwing it out there anyways.

Edited by ManBlaster: 5/1/2019 10:47:32 AMAs a titan main... I have to agree on the "what do I bring to the team" argument. Melting Point really is the main focus of what I usually contribute. As far as solo play... there is plenty I can still do minus a strong 1-Off super like Nova Bomb or Blade Barrage/Nighthawk. Thundercrash does need a huge damage buff. Its not worth using on adds, AS IS. And to be honest I blow that super as a means of mobility more often than not.... as an escape or extended jump when I need it. Its that useless for damage in my eyes. I'd also really like to have Antaeus Wards that actually DEFLECT stuff and not just reflect a portion of damage. Also is it at all possible to have Suppressor grenades suppress PvE enemy abilities? Can I Please prevent enemies from teleport/blinking and spamming their abilities... Like Axion Darts and taken captain dark balls they throw? If that single grenade could just prevent the copious amount of Phuckery of the taken I'd be so gleefully in love with the most useless PvE grenade currently in the game. No majors blinking or teleporting straight at or away from me. That 1 thing would make my friggin day.

3 RepliesLook im gonna be honest here, just give up on this thread, it will end up like all the other threads that tried this idea, toxic AF. Bunch of hunter mains will come downvote every idea saying its OP this OP that when youre clearly talking about PVE but all they have is PVP in mind. IMO just go play hunter and enjoy the game!

11 RepliesI'll just tell you what I've been told about Warlocks in PvP: Your class isn't for that game mode.

Bump.

3 RepliesI’d take the original Titan slam with og perks over a roaming slam any day

3 RepliesEdited by Psyche: 5/1/2019 8:12:47 PMI can fix titan's in 3 moves that makes them helpful endgame but not over powered in PvP. Make helm saint 14 let you shoot out of the bubble while in it, you don't get a damage Buff but your completely protected by damage while in it. The new striker subclass super should do more damage than Nova since your risking more but less than celestial because your not going for precision. Make the new teir hammer super do less damage with the fire tornado but significantly more with the melee portion. Thoughts?

In d1 I chose titan because.. Well I assumed it would be the strongest of the 3 .. Fastforward to d2 I play more on my hunter and warlock and use my titan when I run a raid for the 3rd time .. In pve no matter what I have my res or rec at I feel like my Titan is extra squishy .. I wish thundercrash was like how they showed it in the izanami forge reveal but its not.. Its also weak.. None of the supers last anywhere near as long as anything warlocks or hunters have .. I wish they were stronger in pve

Bump remove pvp

2 RepliesThey're used for tanking bullets and protecting their fireteam. Titans seem most effective in the crucible - specifically for cheesy one-hit kills, invincible shield throwing and electricity head-butting supers, and built in ability to track opponents with a damage buff and over-shield. I can't speak to their utility in PVE - but I find it hard to believe that bottom tree arc, bubble sentinel, and hammers are not effective.

The issue is how these buffs will transfer into pvp
