  • Yeah, how dare they insist on being current to get current items. They should do like call of duty or madden and just make every version free after you buy one. I mean, world of Warcraft and every other mmo did that too right?

  • TLW and Thorn are not new content. I’ve owned them, but they were taken away and now being sold back. I have no issue tying new content to the annual pass. MTX in a Paid game and a paid subscription is just too much at this point, and re-selling old content is the last straw.

Right. I mean, not like any other games have ever dared to come up with ways to make you re earn items and upgrades. God of war, call of duty, dead space, assassins creed, dynasty warriors, the Metroid games, legend of Zelda, and resident evil would never do something so harsh as remove all previous items and weapons at the beginning of a new installment. That’s just absurd, I mean right?

  • It’s the multiple collective monetization schemes in all those other games that’s missing.

  • You’re absolutely right. I mean, not like all but the two that stop being made before the inception of such “schemes” had, oh I don’t know, resource packs, preorder bonuses, buyable weapons, deluxe editions of the game, or cash shops. Yeah, no similarities and patterns at all.

  • It’s the fact Bungie keeps layering new monetary models on top of the old ones. It’s reached critical mass for what I will put up with. The game industry is destroying itself. It’s obvious and pointed out in other games, but Bungie gets a free pass? Not from me.

  • Right. They use so many non traditional and completely deceitful methods. Like releasing new content then expecting to get paid for that work, trying new things instead of sticking with the same exact formula, or having the only official buyable times be purely cosmetic. You have convinced me, they should be more like mobile games that let you skip ahead by months via cash, call of duty that lets you pay to win, or EA that does.......well EA.

  • EA at this point is Kris Kringle compared to Bungie. SWBF2 still releasing free new seasonal content with only cosmetic MTX. Apex launching ftp with only cosmetic mtx, while Bungie adds a subscription fee on top of traditional paid DLC, and cosmetic mtx, while being caught multiple times throttling xp to encourage silver purchase. Sure, there are other games or developers/publishers with anti consumer practices, but they don’t deserve a free pass just because they made a good game once (Halo). Whatever good faith I once had in Bungie has been destroyed by their greed and disrespect for their player’s time.

I didn’t even realize you were this delusional or I would not have tried sarcasm. There is no subscription and you should pick up a dictionary. The annual pass, that you are confusing with a subscription, and “traditional dlc” are not at the same time. Dlc has always cost money. The only difference is that the industry used to call them expansions. Saying bungie, or any gaming company period, is worse than EA only proves your own complete and total ignorance on the subject of gaming industry history. The closest you could possibly come is when Sony invented the root kit and even then they aren’t a gaming company per se and that was still only one case as opposed to EA having a very long history. Educate yourself and stop being a child throwing a tantrum. Bungie has done nothing that isn’t commonly accepted practices and they don’t even go very far with those practices. Oh noes, did you have to buy a dlc/expansion in order to stay relevant? Tough shite that’s how it works junior. If that doesn’t work for you then go play a single player game like elder scrolls or fallout. Just the base game though, those dlcs are EVIL. I will be returning to my regularly scheduled sarcasm with the intended effect of making you look stupid now.
