Why are there rounds in Gambit?
Rounds in Gambit serve no purpose but to prolong this game and make it a "time suck". It should be just a single round winner take all.. This would definitely speed up this slow game mode and make it more fun.

Match sound better....but not my much I'd rather have PoE with Matchmaking, solo play, and all of d1s legendaries, bosses, and PoE size/depth perception. Mash the raid/strike/mission boss themes together in one massive Poe Event and give us all of the D1 loot.

I try to avoid round 3 in Gambit. Round one, go all out and try to win. Round two, If we win, go all out and try to win. If we loose, take it easy and try to loose the second round as well to avoid round three. I only really like going to round three if it is a close game, which it rarely is. If the round are won with both teams hitting on the gambit boss then, match 3 can be epic. But that's rare. Usually the two teams are very unmatched, either in skill or player numbers, 4v3 or even 4v2. So usually it's a case of get the game over with asap and get the rewards, which are the same win or loose.

8 RepliesYou answered your own question. To prolong gameplay, just as the catch-up mechanics try to push 3 rounds. One reason why I have not touched this crappy game(gambit) the entire season 5. But it's gonna be pushed heavily next season

However, Countdown requires 6 wins to complete, not the usual 2 or 3. >_<

Can we just look at the fact that Bungie made a big deal about the game mode being a mix of PvE and PvP claiming its never be done before. Meanwhile we already had halo 5 warzone.

If you win the first two rounds you don’t have to worry about the third round.

Why not? Bungie made everything else so needlessly tedious! Just look at how long it takes you to get to Ikora from Ada-1 or to get in to start Bergusia Forge. I would rather “wasting” my time on Gambit than on those things that Bungie forced down in my throat. Tell you what, after I got 4th Infamy reset, I saw someone had 9, I was like “WTF!”. Just a couple of days ago, (I have 7 resets now and on my way to the 8th), I played a player had 15 resets! Yeah, I shit myself, wiped with my hands and continued to play.

Yes because I prefer to spend more time in match making and travelling than actually playing.

Artificially extends play time. How many times 1 team dominates first round, other team dominates second round (same exact strategy in both rounds), and the final round is however it plays out.

Yea if your at final round with a draw it can really feel like a bother to even play. I just avoid gambit in the first place because I can only get armor after playing for early an hour.

Gambit is fine the way it is. Minus Queenbreaker, I’ve never had a single problem with this game mode. It’s fun and challenging.
