REMOVE ENHANCEMENT CORES FROM INFUSION BUNGIE OR AT LEAST HAVE AN INTELLIGENT DISCUSSION ABOUT IT

Because even Bungie employees are wondering why they won't respond.

  • Bought 2000 simulation seeds, turned them in and got 12 cores and 85% of my shards back. Didn't take that much time either.

    • Ok, let’s have an intelligent discussion. From spider you get 6 bounties that will guarantee a core, multiply that by 3 you get 18, that’s 18 easy and guaranteed cores a week. On top of that if you visit him every day and spend 30 legendary shards that’s 2 more cores a day for a grand total of 14 cores a week for 210 legendary shards. Let’s not forget the scrapper bounties that even if you play casually for an hour a day you’ll get one so another 7 if you’re just playing an hour a night. But wait, there’s more. Dismantling legendaries that you don’t plan on using nets you a core here or there as well as the finest matterweave, cool thing is even some blue gear has a chance to drop the matterweave. Now let’s talk about D1 infusion/weapons and you’ll see something rather interesting. While the infusion was relatively inexpensive barring the exotic shard for exotic infusion, this was mitigated by the fact that our weapons cost an arm and a leg to unlock the perks in the first place, either by burning a ton of motes of light or spending an hour or so farming xp for said weapon/weapons. On top of that it cost legendary marks to buy the resources necessary to even unlock the perks to begin with, a form of currency that isn’t exactly farmable, and if you didn’t have that then guess what, you had to go to a planet, look up the farming route (or use a sniper and a resource ghost) and drive around and farm for a while till you got the resources necessary for upgrading. But our weapons in D2 come fully upgraded so the high infusion costs end up balancing out that fact.

      • Enchancent core are included in the game as a way to make infusion more of a choice rather than just BAM! infuse everything. They force you to pick what item you want to keep levelled. Once you have your light up, they offer further advancement by masterworking items. There are enough ways to get them aside from buying them from spider. Not sure why ppl want these gone so bad, it only adds actual decision making to the levelling process and something meaningful to gain at endgame.

Or maybe OR MAYBE O R M A Y B E STOP INFUSING EVERY TINY SINGLE LL INCRIMENT ON 100+WEAPONS Oh look, this guns 1 LL higher than mine, MUST INFUSE!! This ones 1 less, INFUSE TO ANOTHER RANDOM GUN Its called learn how D2 LL works, its nothing like D1. Stop spam infusing, actually do bounties and dismantle legendaries for cores, and dont masterwork random shit. Its called being smart. Masterworking every other fun of course your gonna burn through cores, only masterwork your main. Masterwork armor is trash, only effective in your super which isnt active long enough to matter. Infuse as necessity, raid at 640, wait till drops get to 640 then infuse. Armor perks are trash, either wear whatever tf or hold onto higher LL gear and infuse large gaps, not 2 LL gaps Ive burnt through 70+ cores getting two characters to 650+ and had ZERO problem because i know how to ration. Now im stockpiling again up to 60+ and counting because i know how to manage my shit.

          • bungie is incapable of doing anything intelligently. remember when they said that D2 would be way better than d1? what happened there? all they had to do was copy and paste, and add the ledge grab mechanic and people would have been thrilled.

Because removing enhancement cores will make the game to easy and even from destiny 1 the game was made so we would have to work and grind to obtain somthing and there are plenty ways to earn cores.

              • Ok, so they are not going to remove the cost. What I'd like to hear is an honest reasoning WHY? How do they think it makes the game better? It's clearly designed to reduce the number of infusions we do, so how is that better? Let me offer a guess: Remember back in D1 when we had "lossy" infusion, i.e. you didn't get the full light level from the infusion fuel item, so your "meaningful" choice was using the new item for maximum light or infusing it into gear you actually liked to use and lose some levels. Honestly I think they never wanted to put in the infusion AT ALL. The game is designed with planned obsolescence -- your gear is supposed to be expendable, use it for a while and then drop it for the newer better drops. Which is the way it still works until you hit max level and start using legendaries/exotics exclusively. Your old trusty Better Devils is crap now -- better go out and grind for a new one. That is exactly like the old one, only now with higher light level. THAT'S how the game is designed to be played. I think the root of the problem is that they tried to port a system from a different kind of game. In a RPG if you have a +1 sword you switch to your new +2 sword as soon as you find it and never think back... but that's because the +X is the only meaningful stat on the thing. In Destiny things like accuracy, range, recoil, perks etc. are much more important to the usability of the weapon. The light level is actually the LEAST important stat, until the game artificially enforces it. The REAL REASON the cost is not going away is that they fear that if infusing your favorite gear to max level was easier it would lead to reduced playtime. IMHO.

Intelligent discussion? From a company that thinks primary ammo finder is a must-have perk that is right up there with shank burn? Or how they thought cores needed to be used for infusion when the problem is their broken in-game content? D1 Never "needed" any currency to infuse items like D2 because the loot system worked as it was intended to be. Are you sure you know who you are asking to talk to? Because going silent is the companies motto. It fixes Everything. Edit: All jokes aside. You are actually asking a company that will never do this because this would mean they would have to be kind of open with the community. These people have never been open with the player base since the day D1 released and that is a fact no one can deny. They have only used Cozmo to either throw something out there just to keep the community at ease and to have him post little or no real info at all when asked a legit question so they don't have to deal with the community. In spite of what anyone thinks about this forum, what excuse they would come up with for Bungie etc... This company will Never be open with the community no matter how nice you are, no matter how much positive feedback is given to them. It will never happen. Case and point? The Community summit and Bungie literally saying streamers are our community leaders.

                • TBH do you even need them? I try to get them when I can but things come masterworked anyways. Horror Story, fully masterworked. Breakneck, fully masterworked. Trust, fully masterworked. Luna's Howl, fully masterworked. The Ikelos weapons if you were lucky dropped masterworked. A lot of my friends had the shotgun drop like that. I feel like they've increased the drop rate for masterworked weapons. I have about 40 cores and not a single armor piece is upgraded. I don't see it's worth.

                • How about this. I posted this on another thread and I know Cozmo saw it because he responded. Right now the way things are with cores it represents a flawed game mechanic. You shouldn't need to just keep feeding cores everytime you light level up gear. A more reasonable mechanic would be once you masterwork a piece of gear the only additional cost should be Mark's and glimmer. Make the cost a consistant 10 for both weapons and armor. This method rewards players who upgrade their gear rather than creating a long boring grind.

                • intelligent discussion - many players have used cores to get to max light and MW weapons and armor - Why Should Their Hard Work Be Thrown Away Like Garbage? Go.

                  • Bungie responded and said they aren't changing it. I believe the people complaining are the casuals, and Bungie has already seen how bad things go when the cater the game to casuals like in year 1. Additionally whenever they change something, the other side starts whining just as loud, so I'm sure they know someone is whining no matter what, which makes the current whining less important. Additionally I get like 8 a day just casually playing, so they aren't that rare of you play a decent amount, and have enough self control to not auto infuse every 5 seconds. These sources are scrapper bounties, finest matterweave, spider, and the occasional world drop I dismantle.

                      • I don’t mind cores for Infusion or MW...however...I believe it should be a static cost, not an ever increasing one. Infusion-one core/5000 glimmer/random mat MW-20 cores/25000 glimmer/weapon parts/random mat...goes straight to level 10 Something along those lines would make the process less painful. Remember, it’s not always about “infusing every two or three levels”. It’s about wanting to use your favorite items and load outs and not looking like a trash can all the time, or running sidearm/smg/sword because that’s the highest light you have.
