Bungie everyday your hardcore pvp playerbase grows thinner and more restless. With no incentive to continue to improve and no end-game loot or prestige to chase hardcore D1 pvp players are leaving the game.
No longer is there an active competitive scrim scene like there was in D1 and no longer is your game topping the twitch boards on the weekends. All around pvp numbers are even beginning to drop as players get bored of having nothing to work towards. If you continue to say and do nothing your pvp population will die (comp is already a desolate wasteland).
Myself and my other clan members just want to know if the return of trials is in the works. Because if it is not then for a lot of people holding out hope there is no reason to continue playing.

Probably not

I hope so, even if I get curb stomped 9/10 games I play, I still find it a bit fun.
-
Bungie's silence is deafening.
-
I hope it returns as Trials of Osiris again, 3v3 elim. Get rid of this 4v4 crap and screw the nine.
-
3 RepliesHope not it was a cancer.

48 RepliesAccount Recoveries of the Nine Everyone knows that Trials was the start of recoveries and watched it get out of control. Unless they've solved that problem, Trials needs to stay gone for good.

5 RepliesThe thing is two years before destiny 1 came out there was never even a mentioning of pvp whatsoever none at all then a few months before it released we got word it had pvp because I believe Activision said to bungie to shoehorn it in. When crucible first showed up it had 4 measly maps in vanilla. Seems tacked on to me!! Wish they would go back to their vision of a massive coop universe and separate the two completely

3 RepliesIf they bring it back paid carries should get your account banned. I know i suck at pvp but if i was gonna go flawless i would do it the real way. Instead of wasting money.

I’m a pve player and I got friends who love pvp and miss trials. I’m actually for trials though I don’t play it. However, some concerns are likely holding Bungie back from bringing it back. Things that my friends and those on the forums mention. In no specific order: 1) Balance. Yeah it would be great if Bungie separated weapon/super balance into two separate pools (pve and pvp). It does seem they can to a certain extent as evidenced by buffing damage on pve enemies and not pvp enemies. Yes there were balance issues and cries for nerfs in D1. From those that were bad in crucible by saying things were OP and funny enough the “good pvp players” crying that the bad players had access to “no skill weapons.” Both sides cried for nerfs. I don’t think Bungie wants to work on balance. It would make more sense for Bungie to have trials be select load out of weapons. It’s all about skill so let both sides have the same weapon selection of 3-5 choices per slot. Then randomize it each week for variety. Really see what weapons are “OP as in over played vs OP as in really over powered.” Same with supers. 2) Cheating. Yes there is DDOS. No it’s not as common as every other game. Yes there is network manipulation and other crap. Again not as common as every other game. Enough that it does happen. Depending on how you define it cheating COULD be the account recovery and paid carries. How will Bungie solve these issues? Side note. Of the handful of times I tried trials in D1, I did get DDOSD. My team was 6-0 on a card. We start new march. Opposing team fought with two guys while one didn’t move. We got to 2-0 and my first teammate got kicked from party chat and game. Me and last guy got to 3-0. Then he is kicked from party chat and game. The next round the third enemy finally moves and they push hard on me. One super later is 4-0. Start of round 5 I see two fighting me and the third is not moving again. My Xbox says I’m disconnected from Xbox live. There is no internet in my house for a few minutes. I finally get back online and both my teammates say the same thing happened to them. No internet for a few mins then all good. We reported and never went back to trials. Does it happen? Yes? Every game? No. Still if people want to risk it then have trials. 3) Connectivity. Destiny is never going to be competitive because of the above and lack of dedicated servers so lag is reduced is another issue. Too often people die from delay or some asshat is literally teleporting all over the map they get some stupid high kill count and kd. Next round they are garbage and easy to kill. Then they become a pvp god again. I see Bungie wanting to try to fix some of these issues before bringing Trials back but it may take way too much time for the pvp crowd. I don’t think trials will come back till then. Good luck.

5 RepliesI doubt it will in D2. With pinnacle weapons being a thing and no sure way to make it more even without ruining it like they did the first time (TotN) then I doubt it will come back. If it does, they need to make it more like D1 ToO. 3v3 elimination with less power ammo, and unfortunately, less story. People were locked out of some really cool story content that couldn’t either a)participate, or b)not progress far enough in the trials.

6 RepliesPaid carries. Lag switchers. Ddos attacks. That filthy cesspool of a mode can stay dead forever.
-
Good. Let them die off and go elsewhere. We don’t need that toxicity.
-
6 RepliesI hope it stays dead... you already have competitive... you don't need 2 playlists. Its not dying, just stop when you say that. The hardcores are still playing comp. The problem is the midcore players and solo players aren't going to LFG sites just so they can play comp. Say what you will, but Trials and even Comp need serious algorithm reworks. Reworks most hardcores will not like at all. Solo queues and then team queue options. Scale back in weapon rewards and a emphasis on comsetic rewards instead. There is a reason why no sane game close to what Destiny is even considers tying some gameplay altering weapon rewards to thier competitive game modes. You get skins, you get cool looking armor, you get titles. You don't get weapons. By having weapons you incentize the market for account recoveries, unsportsmanlike conduct (cheating DDOS etc), and toxicity in a community.

I hated trials in destiny but I did it on occasion just for some unique items and they could be had by completing bounties that weren't tied to going flawless. D2 pvp in general is so bad that I never cared what was offered if it required pvp to get it. At least turn on some events in destiny like weekly trials, monthly iron banner and srl I'd bet there would be more people playing and twitching destiny than d2 on any given weekend
-
Why would they tell you it's not if your going to leave? Stop being a baby and play the game. Dont like it find a new one.

5 RepliesTrials cry-nerf crybabies ruined Destiny

3v3 elimination should return. Not some 4v4 trash they tried with D2.

2 RepliesThey said that they were revamping it so it’ll be better, my gues is that it’ll return with jokers wild
