Since Bungie is now split from Activision, can we get a D1 port into D2? Expand the whole game into the two, revamp subclasses, and boom. We have a ton of content that will never run dry. Orbit can be made into a bigger scrolling screen, and the console game can be put together somehow. Sure, it'd be a large game but who doesn't love content? Imagine all the exotic armors, weapons, our favorite D1 legendaries, strikes, and raids. There would be so much to do that people couldn't possibly complain about how much content they have. Please Bungie, I'd love to hear something along these lines sometime.
(P.S. Cross-Platform PvE????? ;) )
edit 1: INFINITE CUSTOMIZATION
edit 2: I would love to point out @TheFancyJedi 's point
"I'd personally prefer they re-introduce the areas from D1 one at a time, complete with a few new little spots added, some small changes to show time has passed, and some new lore and missions for the re-introduced updated areas.
It would be less work because most of the stage is already made and ready to go, but fans I think would like it because it's a large amount of content and everyone loves nostalgia."
Thanks for my favorite piece of input to the topic!
I'll try to keep up and respond to everyone!
Upvote and leave feedback to increase chances of Bungie noticing the post!

12 RepliesFor all the gamers that said yes because it sounds good? That is as far as it will ever go. Even though it would make this game a huge game with plenty to do, D2 system is majorly screwed up that it would literally screw up Everything about D1. The broken progression system, the broken random rolls, the broken mod system, the broken vendors, the RNG that was created for D2 was way overdone to drag content out and adding more areas doesn't help this game one bit. That is all Bungie would be doing because of the in-game content on how D1 was structured was what made D1 a fun game. D2 in spite of what anyone says is a huge mess right now, not saying it won't change for the better but that is not going to happen until y3 if we are lucky. Oh, and please don't make the nonsense comments about "hating"' the entire game because it wont help anything at all. I'm just being realistic here.

2 RepliesEdited by Demon_XXVII: 1/13/2019 12:18:22 AMA fully HDR/graphically improved D1 (Collection) With the entirety of the DLC 700+ (Earth) rising as we go through the locations Grind is less D2, more freedom, but less muddled Patrolling should be very hazardous, 3man Trinity (3diff builds) Fireteams get to cause havoc & utilise/need each other's strengths), Strikes/NF truly deadly ....Endgame (PoE/Archon/Raids etc) both complex and simple in their structure/execution All weapons/armour and all that came with it reinstated (inc D1 vaults) Surprises along the way Make it free! PvP can swivel All as a thank you from Bungie for keeping their IP alive Also rename all other further releases as Destiny ...continuation of the Title, Lore and vault

3 RepliesThe money would be better spent on making D3 an ever expanding universe. As for “content never running dry” gamers need to understand that there will always be content droughts. Devs will never be able to keep up with how fast players consume content. Example: I burnt through 5 years of warframe content in just 12 months. I burnt through 12 months of D2 content in just 3 months (3 classes, all 650, no boosters) One other thing, how is all this going to be funded now their safety net has gone?
-
Some people have said maybe not in this game, but maybe D3 has the whole trilogy in one package up front, maybe D3 is also next gen only so that it isn't held back by the current gen
-
1 ReplyShould've been that way from the start. D2 being an expansion, rather than a reboot. Losing all those maps, makes no sense. The tower was attacked, not the universe. But we lost access to all the old destinations. Why?
-
That would be fun plus we wouldn't have to worry as much about the inevitable day that the legacy servers get shutdown

3 RepliesEdited by dde3690: 1/12/2019 6:13:02 PMI feel like since they’re free for Activision. Their best course for the future would be along with a brand new game/content with D3 also combine it with D1 & D2. No loss of armor or weapons and only add it the most important elements of the previous destinys, strikes, nightfalls, raids, weapons, armor, and planets and zones along with the new ones with destiny 3. Not all weapons need to make it just all the fan favorites legendaries, all exotics, and raid armor. That way it won’t be SO big and then going forward they can just continue to add dlc n update after update essentially expanding the game even more every 3-6 months. I think or assume everyone would pay for that considering there won’t be some massive drop all progress and start over from scratch again like how d2 was
-
22 RepliesYou do know that data limits are a thing? D1+D2 are two massive games with all the dlc. Thats on their own combined it would be too big for most people to have d2 and other games on their harddrive/memory card. Also the reason they left d1 was because they wanted everyone on a level playing field for the start of the game and each dlc. So if you combine the games now they would probably have to remove any prior progress made on d1. Also back on data limits, probably a good chunk of content would need to be redesigned to fit with d2, which means more data eating my storage. People just need to accept that d1 is dead and not coming back, no vog or kf or ce or any raid from d1. D2 was meant to be a reimagining of destiny so almost every aspect of destiny wouldn't make sense between d1 and d2.

31 RepliesEdited by Savage: 1/12/2019 1:55:16 PMSo instead of them spending a y ear creating new content you want them to spend all of their time and resources on making a port of old content that we already payed for and hence would make zero profit from doing so. Nah. Now if 6 years down the road, D3 is done and bungie wants to MCC the whole thing with remastered content on the newest generation of hardware? Hell yea that’d be dope.
-
While it would be nice, the sheer manpower and data storage required would be absurd and take away so much development time from future things. A better plan would be to roll the collections and triumphs page from D2 into d3
-
Their engine is severely outdated. It holds them and us back. They used the "last gen was holding us back" excuse before D2 release and also stated we would get content, fixes patches much faster and clearly that was a lie. While the thought is nice, they need to blow everyone out of the water with D3. New classes/subclasses, enemies, loot, armor, etc. The focus needs to be for the future and D1 won't be apart of that
-
If D2 had actually just been added onto D1 as expansions to the original game - all this crap wouldnt have been so bad. D2 literally destroyed like 90 percent of the players I ran with in D1. It was (and still is) a very bad sequel.

Edited by Shee__p: 1/13/2019 8:38:41 PMAs amazing as this would be. No. Just no. Not even near anything realistic.

1 ReplyGhost: “This Vex Portal...leads to a time where the Tower wasn’t destroyed! We should be wary as to not create a paradox, so be very, very careful with what you say and do.”

Add D2 to D1
-
Minus Mercury, of course. LOL Brother Vance has to be the loneliest person in the solar system. He didn't even get any cookies.
-
I've wanted this for a long time. It would be great, a long as bungie doesn't get to do focused on resused content...
-
Yes. Should have been this way from the start.

Edited by AlbinoGaming: 1/13/2019 4:12:15 PMYou would have to make it like this. So first your gonna have to re-market the game and tell everyone what the main content of the game is going to consist of off the start. It would have D1 all of the expansions and updates up to year 3. And it would also include D2 with the content up to now (Black Armory). Then everyone would start the Destiny Experience off in D1 and play that whole game out and then you would start D2 with all your stuff currently equipped. You would lose to Garry and all your gear would be broken. You would then play the whole D2 campaign and on top of that be doing quests to unlock your D1 vault and recover/fix your broken loot. Boost the light level of all D1 Raids/Endgame to have a 500+ option. Do a Graphics overhaul. And after that just make D3 another expansion on this amazing franchise. They could also do another small set of 3 expansions again. The D1 weapons would have to be remade with the D2 system and some glitches/cheeses would have to be patched but other than that if Bungie is really dedicated to it's fans and want's the whole game experience to be an epic tale of a guardians journey to become a peacekeeper of earth then give us (the fans+ the whole story and all the content in 1 game kind of like WoW. And just give us small content drops and stuff until D3 content release. It's gonna be hard to even convince a company to reopen so many old assent and combine 2 Games together but it would be really cool, idk if it would be free tho, like that's a bunch of work to do and ppl need to get paid for doing it at the very least.
-
Bungie said great idea! We can charge again for the same content we don’t even have to run it backwards or add anything.
-
Edited by Skounishe: 1/13/2019 3:04:06 PMYes, but not at the expense of new content. Since transferring either D2 into D1 or D1 into D2 would take a huge amount of work, I would say it's not a viable option.
-
No. Time to move on. Perhaps roll D2 in D3 so there's a convenient excuse to digitally publish all content moving forward. But no. D1 needs to stay D1. The past is the past.
-
No. We want new content as we gave new money. I don't want Bungie to spend it's limited budget (no more Activision loot crate investment) on copy/paste barrage!
-
If you cram D1 into the terrible mess that is D2, where would people go to play the *good* destiny?
-
6 RepliesNO !! Let me explain. Firstly I am sick of reused content, using the same areas more than twice even for different missions or strikes etc. This was a huge issue on D1 ( remember running the same mission but backwards) . It will be somewhat creatively lazy to bring back destiny 1 into 2. Second point. They need to focus on creating new content, instead of wasting resources porting and upgrading old content to have better graphics and improved mechanics, they might as well create brand new stuff. New raids new worlds, more weapons and armour. You get the point. How about new mechanics to make exploring world's better. Possibly even less world's but make them massive in size to make it more seemeless.
