Restore Nova Bomb To Glory
Nova bomb used to be … amazing. Obsidian Mind + nova bomb … mmm … Brings a tear to my eye to think about D1 nova bomb compared to D2. It is essentially useless for every activity. Doesn’t do squat even in pve. In pvp you can drop it on someones head and watch them run away.
Supers really do not get enough attention or tuning unless people complain about them in the context of crucible. Which is valid but cmon, who uses nova bomb? Or dawn blade? Or fist of havoc? For anything?! They all need some love in a bad way.

2 RepliesI agree, but pre forsaken it wasn’t horrible. Devour was a very great ability and melting point tractor cannon stacking allowed nova bomb to do damage!!! But than agains you shouldn’t need an exotic weapon and a titan to make a super viable. Nova bomb is a shadow of what it was in D1 and it needs to be brought up especially with blade barrage ruling burst super in pvp, and celestial in pve

1 ReplyI think the funniest thing about Nova Bomb is that its blast radius is literally smaller than its roaming counterpart, Nova Warp. The charged attack from Nova Warp, which requires extremely minimal buildup and can be held, exceeds Vortex(the one on Attunement of Hunger, the Devour tree) Nova Bomb's blast radius by nearly double. It does pitiful damage in PvE, and its blast radius makes it terrible in both PvE and PvP.

1 ReplyEDZ lost sector boss, 3 nova bombs and still around 1/4 health. Same boss, 1 Chaos Reach boss dead and super deactivated early on top of it. (Not much but still for comparison)

Try the skull with top tree in the forge. No buff needed in pve.

I literally dropped a chaos bomb on 4 Guardians taking a control point in Iron Banner, being power level 650 it only killed 2 while I died to incoming fire. 2 were unhurt by the explosion and could outrun the seekers. It's bs. People used to fear Nova bomb. It needs to match blade barrage damage. The vortex needs to last 7 seconds like in D1, not 4. It needs to do 25 damage per tick like vortex grenades. Pretty sad that an accelerated vortex grenade does the same damage as the super because the damage over time is double the super.

Personally I was way more of a fan of Voidfang Vestments....extra Axion bolt and instant grenade on a grenade kill. In PvP I'd fire off a nade, weaken the enemy and let the Axion bolt clean up over and over again.

Only time I ever used nova bomb in pvp was when mayhem was here. That Super is awesome for shutting down other supers but it's so hard to use and time right. But in mayhem if you mess up or it just flys off into nowhere without killing anyone or hits a ceiling or wall (which happens waaaaaaaaay to often btw) you didn't have to be pissed off you wasted it because you get it back in 20-30 seconds. But yea, in regular crucible it sucks ass and it's not that great in pve either.

It’s very slow, I’ll say that. Makes it easier to get out of the way. Nova warp is a team wrecker though. Nothing short of a rocket launcher could take em out in one shot.
