Best non-raid weapon setup

I've been playing for roughly a month now, never played any Destiny prior. Im currently lvl 50 at 578 and have a few decent weps, but i cant find a definitive "overall best setup" for pve play. Im 3 games from my gambit wep, so im assuming thatll take my kinetic slot. Any feedback is appreciated!

  • With randomization, its better to find a perk set that fits your playstyle. Then, I cant stress enough to experiment to find out what works best for you. Ill use my preferences for example: Kinetic, Auto/Pulse/Scout perks would be anything like Rampage/Kill Clip/High Impact Reserves that increase damage, and Outlaw, Drop Mag for reload speed. Other perks like High Caliber Rounds are preffered too. Energy: Shotgun/Fusion. Its always going to be one of these two unless im working on a bounty that requires a Sniper, or I decide to swap my Kinetic to a Shotgun so I can use one of my preferred Kinetic types in the Energy Slot. Vouchsafe, Wrong Side of Right etc. I like Rampage, Field Prep, Genesis, on my "heavy" Energy weapon (as I call them, because they used to be Power slot weapons) with Back Up Plan being preferred on my Fusion Rifles (which I'm still new to using) As far as Power Weapons go, I'll use anything except a Sword, and perks I prefer are all the same as above. I've used everything in the game for extend time periods though, I could use anything in PvE, its not that critical. It just comes down to efficiency.

  • The gambit auto is really good. Ikelos would be a good secondary. I personally like to use trust occasionally. For heavy thunderlord, sleeper, whisper of the worm, and cluster bomb rocket launchers are decent on some bosses.

Best PvE Primary is Breakneck from Gambit. Followed by any Hand Cannon or Bygones with Rampage + Outlaw Best Special is still IKELOS Shotgun followed by Badlander. Best general use Heavy is arguably Sleeper Simulant due to its ease of use, great boss damage and multirole capability for add clear this is followed by Thunderlord. I do not include Whisper as it is a bit niche and difficult to use

    • Ikelos Shotgun is still really good, then sleeper in your power slot if you don't raid.

      • 1. Bygones 2. Ikelos shotty 3. Sleeper/whisper It’s a really good weapon setup for the raid, as well as pretty much any PvE activity
