Some afk at worst but for most it goes like this. Lose the first round? Well we better lose the second too because I'm not playing 3 rounds when I need 40 matches. So we throw the game... Bad foresight on this one Bungo. Hell I might just go for pure kills and never pick up a mote or worry about the bosses and once I'm done all the auto shit I will be able to have a dance party for the remaining 10-20 matches.

4 RepliesThey shouldve required gambit wins instead of matches complete.
-
7 RepliesYou know that you are supposed to do it over the entire season right
-
No its on the players. Bungie isn't forcing you to be a poor sport, thats all the player and nothing else.
-
Well yeah, I got work so I dont have time to play seriously. Already got the Malfeasance, you can imagine how mad I was when I saw that I gotta grind out Gambit for the auto rifle.
-
Should change to win 40 rounds
-
I actually LOVE teams that do this, as long as they are the other team. They never care about heavy, motes, kills. so that leaves it all to me and with TL, the EP shotty and a good super I won 7 of 8 rounds last night most of which I had >67% of the damage on the Prime. So my Gambit ranking is going up real fast.
-
Got all my auto kills, multi auto kills and challenging kills. I have exactly 20 games to go and it makes me wanna actually try harder now cuz I’m not stuck using an auto rifle. I will say however, I love my Hazard. Got me thru it pretty damn quick
-
They should change the quest to winning 20 matches instead of sitting out 40 matches. The autorifle Breakneck isnt really worth the grind by the way, the idea is nice but the number of occasions it actually gives you a benefit are really rare and auto rifles are in a bad place currently.

3 Repliesgambit should be 1 match.

You need to look up the dictionary definition of force.

I am taking my time with these. All playing gambit 40 matches in a row is gonna do is make me hate Gambit. I hated it for a little bit after Malfeasance.
-
Nobody likes gambit period.

Edited by the1jeffy: 12/4/2018 5:50:55 PMI didn't think of this. I think I am on a 4 win streak because I typically play with my wife and brother and a blueberry. We have a system where she goes long range weapons and we shoulder charge/skullfort everything. She scoops up the motes that we miss, first to 5 banks first, I invade when it is timely. It's a good round one system. I got the damn meatball round two last night, and I was solo queued before our shattered throne run. It was round 2 after a solid round one win, and the other team didn't pull the primeval until we had like 6 stacks and a clear platform. It makes sense that people are throwing matches. They invaded like clockwork though, odd for a team throwing the match. It's like bungie doesn't play the same game as we do. The 3 points per win and 1 for loss has been established as the weed out for this behavior sine the D1 mountain top, or maybe the first curse? Anyway bungee incompetence got me the damn malfeasance quest so bully for me.

LOL! The Gambit LFG request are pretty funny. “Need two for 40 loss streak. No 3rd round” I don’t blame them in the least bit. The cats a Bungie -blam!-ed that all up by mindlessly tacking on ridiculous bounties to the activity. Common sense is obviously not very common in the Bungie studio. They also obviously have no idea how “cause and effect” works.

Unless the whole team is actually "working as a team" to actively lose, throwing the 2nd round is pretty hard to do with how big of a boost the catch up mechanics give. I see most games go to 3 even when it's fairly one sided.
-
8 RepliesThey should have made Wins worth 2 points and Losses worth 1, needing a total of 40 points. I'd hang in there for an extra round if it meant I'd get double the progress, but as is there's no incentive to extend the duration of the match by 50% if you get the same progress on a win or loss and the Breakneck quest is your only goal.

Shame cause it’s a good idea but should have made it a combination at least of winning and playing. Sad thing aswell, almost 40 matches played and no Exotics (apologies, off-topic).

You know what those 40 matches did for me? I stopped giving a sh1t about winning or losing - and i mean that in a good way. I get paired against a 4-stack? Oh well, at least they'll clean my clock fast and i'll complete a match. It flushed the salt out of me. In the 40 matches, my friend and I developed strategies to work around bad teammates. You see a guy going for 15 motes on the first wave?--- grab your 5 to block and make sure you get the heavy at all costs. Do the math to top up to 25 and get the first invasion. We started making draft picks while loading in on which random we want on our team. Hell, even came up with plans if Bungie did the switch-a-roo on a rematch and swapped our teammates. Sometimes we took risks - see if we can camp an invasion point and take the invader out with nightstalker melee. Sneak up on the queensbreaker invader on the island through the portal. Long story short is, those 40 matches went by fast once the salt got flushed out of me. I would have been very frustrated if winning was the requirement. Knowing whatever match you're in - win or lose - will mean you've progressed the quest. Envisioning the alternatives - back to back 4 stacks of try-hards exploiting every mechanic they can to win -- that would have been a salt mine.

Yup should have made it rounds completed not games, also need to put a better afk protection in, ie if the game detects an afk player, it could start matchmaking in the background, once it found someone wait another 30 seconds (est) if still afk , boot and fill with the waiting player, also they need joining protection, so if you join a game in progress you don’t loose your streak if you loose, I know they have this in pvp not sure about gAmbit.

Excellent post. Laughing at all these bad players trying to cover their tracks with excuses in your replies lmao.

5 RepliesYou're damn right. I actually played like the first 20 or so, but after that....naaa. my team gets the first round to play well otherwise I'm sitting it out. There is absolutely no point to go try hard and try to win 2-1 and extend the match by an extra 15-20 minutes when you have to do 40 total. Na, playa, not me.
-
What's wrong with that? I saw plenty of 4 man teams throwing every game for quick completions and just focusing on auto kills. If you're running solo, don't run solo. Carrying in gambit is impossible now that most people have good strategies to take out the primeval fast. You really wanna risk matching 3 terrible players when you could easily find 3 decent people off find fireteam?
-
4 RepliesI actually saw an LFG post that specifically said "Looking for gambit team to throw matches for auto rifle quest."
-
Tell me about it, I finished my quest a few days ago but have been playing lots lately to get the malfeasance quest, but every time the meatball spawns i am matched with players who are 80% afk or u can tell they are just running around to waste the time
-
Just wait a month or so and XUR will be selling this stuff or some kind of knock off of it.
