I havent tried it yet but a nerf is a nerf and this one sounds like Bungie pulled another Bungie.
What the -blam!- is it to any of these nerf mongers applauding the nerf, which weapon I want to use? If you didn't want to use the ep shotgun, didja miss out on the fact you could swap to something else....git gud some of them say... git off the nerf train kids

It was as much of a win conditon in Gambit as pre-nerf Sleeper and everyone knows it, that alone justifies the nerf.

It's more like "Here's a good weapon, better use something else once in a while and not kick people from groups for not having it because I know how Bungie handle things like this".

Haven't seen a flood of complaints about getting kicked due to not having the shotty. Can't argue with you about bungie logic tho... they come up with a decent weapon and then nerf it if its "overused"....it is what is is but it's also messed up.

True. I never had the Ikelos shottie, but did just fine in PvE content.
