The fallen are just out to reclaim the traveler for their own, because it left them. So they don’t really pose that serious of a threat unless you look at the battle of the twilight gap.
The cabal are just power hungry seeking to claim territory and destroy planets but don’t really pose enough of a threat either (For example Ghaul and the red legion) even if the almighty destroyed our sun, the traveler I’m pretty sure would live on unless I’m wrong. (You can correct me)
The vex are pretty malevolent and are one of the darkest and evil species and are pretty rampant when combined with the taken (Quria)
Then we have the Hive and the Taken. Honestly as far as we’ve seen since destiny 1, they have been the main antagonist of the franchise so far that has been the most active fighting against us and the light. We’ve had basically 2 raids for both species (Crotas end, Kings fall which was both hive and taken, and then the last wish which is primarily taken). These species are very clearly the most linked to the darkness as far as we know. But we can’t be sure that they are the ones inhabiting the pyramid ships. Whatever is inhabiting the ships are clearly far more malevolent than the hive and taken. Those ships are the reason the collapse happened and why the golden age ended so I don’t think it could be anything we’ve fought before.

The Hive seemed to be directly opposed to what we are and what we do. Crota, Oryx and then Nokris...the Big Bads always seem to be Hive. The other races are just fill-ins until we fight one of these monstrous entities.

The Drifter and his crew have probably tangled with whoever is in those ships.

At home, the Fallen. In the system, the Vex are an enemy to all life outside their vision. With the Light, the Hive, Scorn and Taken. Cabal are just kinda here.

The Hive are definitely the main antagonists, at least where these first two games are concerned. They worship the Darkness and their goal is to send the universe towards its ‘final shape’. The Taken are little more than puppets of the Hive themselves. The Fallen were turned into what they are now by the Hive. The Vex were influenced by information they gathered on the Hive, and the Cabal certainly fought the Hive. The other three have goals that could accommodate us in some fashion, but the Hive and philosophy of the Darkness demand our extinction

The point is really that there is none. We face a war on all sides.

The Vex, they’re desire for Convergence is just as deadly as the Darkness

27 RepliesNo it's definitely the fallen, they attacked the city twice, had the city under siege for centuries, directly attacked humanity multiple times, are the primary pillagers of our worlds ad were tormenting humanity as soon as they got here before the city was built, hell, they were slaughtering defenseless people before even the iron lords came about.
