Take a damn break.
No seriously, it works.
I took a break and returned and got Two-Tailed Fox from the Flashpoint reward.
My brother has done it multiple times and has gotten Wavesplitter and Queenbreakers in one day. He’s also gotten Trinity Ghoul and some others.
It doesn’t sound like it makes sense, but if you really think about it, it does...
I grinded my a** off in the first couple days of Forsaken-got nothing. Many others have been in the same boat as me. Then, people have been saying that their friends that barely play are getting new exotics (my friend got Shards of Galanor and only has one character at about 505 light.).
This is such a Bungie thing to do. Reward players who barely play so they are enticed to play more. And don’t reward grinders and players who play daily so they tell themselves “if I keep playing, I’ll eventually get one”.
Maybe I’m delusional, or maybe I’m right. All I know is I’m sittin here with my first forsaken exotic while others have none.
So take a break, and get some exotics.
Edit 1: Fixed spelling mistakes
Edit 2: Yayyy trending
Edit 3: I see many people asking how long a break you should take-when I got TT fox, I took a 3 day break. I played some GTA V with my brother and some battlefront 2.
My brother however took a week break and got wavesplitter and queenbreakers.
In conclusion, higher break, higher reward. If you don’t mind straying away from Destiny, then 1 week break is for you. If you like looking forward to your daily shooting shït in the face, then take a shorter break.
Edit 4: TOP OF TRENDING!!

Got lord of wolves and trinity ghoul last night in a couple hours. My bro once again didn't get jack.
-
Well what do you know? I just had a 3 day break, come back on tonight, got 2 tailed fox from a strike!
-
Actually this works. I took a long time off from destiny to play blackout. Now I just got Shards of Galanor(wtf it exists) and Two Tailed Fox over the last two days. I placed last on my team in Comp and got SoG. (Because duh) Then I got the launcher from the heroic daily adventure.

By playing the game, but whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold
-
I took a 2 week break I think and got oath keepers TTF and QBB and I've also experienced that my friends who don't play much get more exotics than me so yeah
-
Got the sixth coyote from iron banner today.
-
Just play the game like me. Gotten 12 forsaken exotics and 25 exotics in total
-
1 ReplyI play daily and I’ve gotten every weapon besides talon and voices and most of the armor I want, as a whole I’m missing 2 on hunter, 2 on lock and all of them on my Titan (but I don’t play Titan much). There may be some merit to what you’re saying, I wouldn’t put it past them but from my personal experience playing regularly helps too.
-
I will try this tip as soon as I complete all the Iron Banner bounties. I only have one left I really care about (Gotta Get them handcannon perks)
-
I play regularly. I had twin tail fox drop a couple days ago on my Warlock and the Oath Keeper drop on my Hunter this morning. They’re dropping more frequently for sure.
-
Yep, i played a lot every day and got no exotics for 2 months since Forsaken. Then took a week off and on the first day back i got twin tailed fox and Wavesplitter.
-
Similarly, I've noticed the entire time I've been playing D2 that the drops I get for the character I play as my main aren't as good as the drops I get for my secondary character.
-
Shit... this has been going on since D1 lol.
-
lol! I was in a small clan of a dozen or so throughout most of D1 and right up until our first Raid completion a few weeks into D2. After that first raid they ALL left for Fortnite...then three of them show back up when Forsaken is released. One of them had the Mask (of whatever) on the second day. Another one got an exotic that I can’t remember a day or so after that. I on the other hand did not abandon Destiny and received my first Forsaken exotic a day after the recent update. I was pretty blown away at the discrepancy in general. Haven said that, I apparently struck gold because I have now gotten 4 Forsaken exotics since the update. Pretty crazy all around. It seems like Bungie doesn’t have any idea how to balance exotic drops besides flipping a switch from “full off” to “full on”...or vice versa.
-
Definitely a thing. Noticed this since D1
-
I mean I play somewhat regularly, and one day I just happened to get 3 exotics from Forsaken.
-
There may be something to this. I played daily 4 or more hours a day. The only forsaken exotics I got were quested and black talon. I took a few days due to work and I got the Cerberus +1. I go out of town for work for a week and I got shards of galanor off the flashpoint. I had to go out of town for another week and haven’t had the chance to log on yet. Curious about what I get when I do.
-
The better way is to go play red dead or black ops.
-
4 RepliesIf this is actually the case that's just poor game design. Punish people who keep playing your game and reward people would dont and come back. I can see the reasoning there and you can make an argument about how it's a good thing. But this is just my opinion
-
This worked after taking a week off. Hopped into crucible and boom, two tailed fox. Didn't think much of it until now.
-
1 ReplyGot a trinity ghoul withing first couple weeks of forsaken, then nothing but quest exotics. Then last week I got Antaeus Wards, then yesterday both Heart of Inmost Light and One-Eyed Mask. I think that as the season goes on exotic drop rates increase, or maybe their diplicate protecton is working
-
6 RepliesIf that worked, I'd be flooded with exotics.
-
I play everyday and I have all weapons minus malfeasance(I swear that boss is fake) and I need Phoenix protocol to finish warlock exotics. I don’t care about my other characters so I won’t get any of their exotics for a while
-
It worked for me I got back on yesterday and got Black Talon
-
Edited by OkieDokie_Yoshi: 11/18/2018 4:06:48 PMI seriously don’t focus on getting exotics but I’ve gotten my exotics mostly from doing the Heroic Story Adventures. I wanted queens breaker for so long and randomly, playing a gambit match, I just got it. Didn’t even defeat the Primeval yet, just a random enemy drop guys.
-
I've heard others say this exact same thing. But then that would dispel the myth of the hardcore being more rewarded than the casual player. Some people have the mentality that grinding for thousands of hours to get one exotic means they earned it that they're more skillful. We all know that Destiny rewards has, is, and will continue to be about random RNG luck. I've never played Forsaken. I could start today and have the possibility of getting a new exotic. Hardcore player Casual player it doesn't matter you're all in the same boat.
