Can we have the option to take mods off of our gear without having to dismantle them?

I'm not sure if I'm just some fool, but I can't take mods off of any of my weapons or armor pieces without dismantling them. Swapping out mods also causes you to lose the mod. I'm struggling for counterbalance mods, but since I never get weapons with them to drop, I never have more than 1 at a time, but if I want to use it I have to "make a meaningful decision." Just allow us to remove the damn mods. I don't want to trash weapons or wait days for counterbalance mods to appear but never be ready for them because I've got no mod components. • Would it help if they renamed mod components?

    • Once equipped they should stay and be selectable one at a time. Like the glow effects on the solstice armour. You could select what glow and they stayed once added. They need to stop with the lame sh!t and let us truly customize shite

    • Some decisions are too “meaningful “ therefore Bungie makes them for us.

      • Makes me nervous to apply them. I wish there was a way I could test them to see if I want it to stay on that weapon or not. Maybe give us a time limit. Once it's been on for two hours its stays. Just feels like there is a shortage and makes me horde them rather than use them.

      • Also, if we infuse a piece of gear with a mod, the mod should either port over to the upgraded item, or go back in the inventory. It's just stupid they disappear.

        • I like how it is. I realize thats an unpopular opinion. But I think it makes you think. Do you want the mod more than the item? If you want the item but hate the mod you have another choice to make. If the mod works on the item but you have no other gear to support it, you then have another choice...do you shard it or do you create something interesting and try it. For example: you get some arms with momebtum transfer and a grenade mod. But you have a shotgun build. So you could then use those 'usless' items laying around for infusion and change your subclass to form a build that gives you a constant grenade, etc... It makes the game interesting. Those same people who want it changed will he complaining that the game is boring. But then they probably already do that. The same thing happened in Division. Everyone went for dps build and it made the game boring because no one could understand the potential of other types of loadouts. Everyones an Army of One...

          • What? Hell no, that's dumb. You will ever only need one mod then. Mid match just remove the mod put it on another gun and you're good to go. Why do ya'll complain about every little thing?

              • I honestly don’t mind having to commit my mod but what I wish I could do is try the mod before I commit. As an example I have a curated Nation of Beasts. I keep going back and forth on which mod to attach to it. I don’t want to blow through a handful of mods to see what works best. So I’m fine with committing to it but wish there was a way you could temporarily try it.

                • It's not even a meaningful decision, we don't have enough components to get mods or mods themselves to even make a decision in the first place lol

                  • This reminds me of when Luke Smith titled Destiny a "Collection Game" but then purposefully made the Vault with limited space and wanted us to make "Tough Decisions" when it came to collecting loot. A true master of game design

                      • Just another way to keep us grinding away at what amounts to a second job. If they let you swap mods any time you want without dismantling weapons, how can they expect you to stick around? Obviously not because they’ve made a fun game. Bungie really needs to trust that players actually enjoy the game and stay for that reason, not because they have to always have something to grind for.

                        • You should be allowed to at the very least dismantle it off the armor for mod components so if you infuse you at least get something back

                        • Yes please, but whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold
