So today is suicide awareness day at my school so I decided to make this.
It is a real thing.
Over the summer a friend of mine committed suicide. By the end of our Sophomore year, he already had colleges willing to give him scholarships because he was so good at Lacrosse. But he got picked on and bullied by some of his team members because he was a little overweight. Then his girlfriend after dating 7 months dumped him. Then her brother told him to kill himself. His funeral happened about two weeks later.
Then just recently, there was someone who was two years above me at my school, he was a super senior and he was real close to getting his Associates. But he then got in a fight with his dad over him being gay. His dad called him some mean names. A few weeks later he ended it at Target after his shift ended.
Suicide is a real thing. If someone you know needs help or is really depressed, call 1-800-273-8255.
I guess posting this is my way of grieving. Thanks for reading this.

It really sucks and I hate the people over the internet who tell others to go "kill yourself". It is unbelievable how anyone can joke like that and laugh about others doing it.

Luckily had a friend calm me down on the phone before I ultimately made a choice. I have my okay days, and bad days, but it's increasingly slim that I have good days anymore. Between the economy, lack of jobs, and inflation of everything in price, optimism is a hard thing to find. I'm also having Fiancè problems that are completely out of my control (His grandmother died, his dog died, his other dog was given away without his permission, and his dad is dying of Muscular Dystrophy), and with his current living conditions, he is now forced to live in the same room he was "forced into a nonconsensual act" (since the actual word is blocked) in. Even I can't make him happy anymore, and I feel completely helpless.

It's just -blam!-ing stupid you know, especially why people have to hide things. Sometimes I believe violence does get a point across, especially in why people snap, they try to get help and the next thing you know, they kill themselves or other people and it's stupid there are not enough mental health specialists in the US. This is why I have a huge disdain for the human mind, why does mental illness still exist when it should be cured by now?

That's why I would ask them, and often have conversations about their emotional side. It is always a good idea to check on your friends emotionally. A good wingman will always be concerned.

The person is just hurting loved ones and is taking the cowards way out. Edit: On second thought. Go ahead if you think suicide is the only answer. Maybe someone will light some candles in your memory. This isn’t directed at the OP. Just a general statement.

2 RepliesIt is sad, because you hear about these things and think to yourself, "That shit was so minor, why would they do that?", or at least I always did. Then it dawned on me one day when I was venting to a friend and he told me that he would love to trade problems with me. To him, my problems were easy, while his problems were easy in my eyes. The trails and tribulations we go through, they are ours to deal with and they are only hard to us. So we need to be mindful of that and remember to just reach out a hand in aid, not to strike them down. A little help from us, it can mean the difference between life and death for some.
