Repeat exotics are killing my motivation to play the game
Every time you get one its like punch in the gut. Games are not supposed to feel bad. Don't respond with they said they would fix it. There are TWAB's that date back to 2017 talking about fixing duplicate protection. The worst is having your raid drop be a repeat exotic, now you get robbed of a raid drop and have a worthless item. You can't even infuse cause the system is also broken. I feel like Bungie once again knocked out the first month and left a clusterf$% for the endgame.

I appreciate all the support and people sharing there stories of why this sucks. When asked why exotics are important this was my response :
Exotics literally change the way you play. If you have the Hunter guantlets that give super energy when used blade barrage that would dramatically change the way you play. the same for Phoenix protocol if you play the new subclass. If i am 600 and have beaten the raid, do you think that i might be a bit bored with the current ways i have to play. Each new super(most not all) have an exotic tied to maximize its play style. I can't experience that cause every time an opportunity drops is just and old exotic. Thus locking me out of the new experience. I'm 100% ok with exotic item drop rate i'm not ok with the 99% repeat exotic drop rate.

I just get Riskrunners. Something I didn't think was possible, since I never chose it with my character. I chose Sunshot.

I keep getting the sweet business or winter's guile. I mean, thanks for saving me cores for infusion... I guess.

Grind and gear drops are a fickle thing. If gear is too easy to acquire, people get bored once they have everything. If it's too much, people get frustrated and burned out. Currently we're way too far in to the burned out side of things. The main problem is that this is how Bungie has been operating for years. They forego lessons learn and just hop back and forth between problems. A middle ground exists, Bungie just refuses to step in to it.

I had a couple of decent drops a about 3-4 weeks ago but it's been three weeks and I haven't seen an exotic of any type drop since.

Get so fixated on a single thing. Will cause some hatred, along with it being RNG makes it worst lol. I just quit caring after while. Find myself falling back on the ones I already had unlocked. For a hunter the new ones are good for pve but in pvp their meh.

Repeat drops are an ongoing issue since mid D1 outside the raid i know of. Dont do much raiding. But on top of that they announced for this dlc it wouldnt be a problem like always. Seems its the same ole bull.

Using an exotic as infusion fuel saves you on mats. There's that.

Really? I felt so rewarded after getting my fifth tricksleeves on my hunter. It really was great, and allowed me to appreciate the time I put into the game.

Yeah... I agree. A fun and exciting game is what keeps a player attention. A game that is a repetitive chore with a low payout becomes stale. Bungie, we wanted power, we wanted secrets, we wanted a deep story, we wanted fun, and we wanted challenging situations with rewards that increase everything else listed. What we have now is a job with horrible rng for our paychecks and Christmas bonuses. No one would keep a job as such and they sure as heck will not keep playing a game with said scenario. You want us to earn something, great. Take the wishender as an example. I earned it. It is crap currently, but it is a badge of honor by what it took to get it and I love it. I have the two tailed fox... awesome. Rng blessed me with the best, albeit it still comes nowhere near d1 with tracking, tracking rocket in the game. Due to pure luck. Not my hours put in, not some adventure or dungeon that says I earned my reward... dumb blind luck. Cool. The game needs some of these rewards. My teammate has yet to have any dlc exotic drop and I am hearing his attention for this game beginning to drop. He is seeing his hard earned money that he spent on this GAME net very little in return. I know the basic idea was turn this into a Vegas style game... but the game does not return anything of value and only rewards the house, therefore players are going to lose interest.

That and no exotics basically ever. I've gotten 3 or 4 exotics since Forsaken dropped and EVERY ONE of them are Y1 exotics. It's stupid. I hope they're close to fixing it because I know exotics are supposed to be RARE but they shouldn't be THAT rare.

I got Suros yesterday for the third time since Forsaken's release. Out of every single freaking exotic in this game, I got Suros for the third time. Seriously, at this point they should lower the chance of getting an exotic to drop, but make it impossible to get one already in your collection.
