Repeat exotics are killing my motivation to play the game
Every time you get one its like punch in the gut. Games are not supposed to feel bad. Don't respond with they said they would fix it. There are TWAB's that date back to 2017 talking about fixing duplicate protection. The worst is having your raid drop be a repeat exotic, now you get robbed of a raid drop and have a worthless item. You can't even infuse cause the system is also broken. I feel like Bungie once again knocked out the first month and left a clusterf$% for the endgame.

I appreciate all the support and people sharing there stories of why this sucks. When asked why exotics are important this was my response :
Exotics literally change the way you play. If you have the Hunter guantlets that give super energy when used blade barrage that would dramatically change the way you play. the same for Phoenix protocol if you play the new subclass. If i am 600 and have beaten the raid, do you think that i might be a bit bored with the current ways i have to play. Each new super(most not all) have an exotic tied to maximize its play style. I can't experience that cause every time an opportunity drops is just and old exotic. Thus locking me out of the new experience. I'm 100% ok with exotic item drop rate i'm not ok with the 99% repeat exotic drop rate.

I’m 600 on all 3 and have done everything in the game. Only 3 new exotic drops with only 1 of them being used regularly. the 6th coyote for the hunter- it is pretty useful but not a real game changer except for the double invis. In crucible. Cerberus+1 and two-tailed Fox are just gimmicks right now- albeit fun and I’m glad to have them. Two-tailed Fox is probably the best rocket launcher in the game even though it wouldn’t melt Riven in 10 seconds. I think it’s true potential is yet to be found. Right now whisper and sleeper make it obsolete. Cerberus+1 is fun and decent in crucible but nowhere near the enemy melter that youtubers try to make it out to be. It’s definitely usable in quick play though for fun. A lot of us have had the same drops- the queen breaker and Lord of Wolves are in the common drops too.

My only Forsaken exotic that wasn’t from a quest was two weeks ago, and was one of the last exotic drops I got until the other day. I’m motivated to play the game. 12 RepliesI guess maybe I don't understand this complaint as much because it doesn't bother me as I'm used to D3, Borderlands, The Division, WoW etc. giving the same thing over and over again while hunting for BiS gear or upgrades or god rolls for gear.

I have gotten 15 exotics since forsaken and only two of them were forsaken exotics

Unfortunately bungie tried to bring back that feeling of getting the gally. The completely missed the mark. Year 1 they gave out exotics too easy now year two its the complete opposite of the spectrum. D1 had exotics to get excited for. D2 just dont have it. So i feel your pain. Same goes with the loot system in general. 5 out of 6 powerful/prime engrams last night yielded me arms..... ARMS!.... serious trash. Keep polishing bungie 🐒💩

8 RepliesI mean, I guess I understand what you’re saying. But it really perplexes me that this generation of gamers needs to be rewarded in order to enjoy a game. I dumped hundreds of hours into each of the halo games and there was no real loot to speak of. I played day after day because it was fun. Bizarre 🤷🏼♂️

1 ReplyRepeats of Chaperone, Worldline Zero, Skull of Ahamkara and Starfire Protocol. The only one that I was truly upset about was Chaperone and Worldline. Quest Exotics and ones that are given to you do not belong in drop pools. If need one for something, I have Collections.

11 RepliesBungie can’t win. All through year 1 there were constant complaints that it was too easy to get everything so there was no reason to grind. They lower the drop rates, now it’s nothing but complaints that the game is too grindy and doesn’t feel rewarding.

Duplicate legendaries as well and far more armor than weapons destroy my motivation. Between challenges, bounties, and rank ups in Gambit, my last five drops were 3 Cloaks, 1 Gauntlet, and a Sniper Rifle I already had on my person. At this point, I don't feel like it's worth it to continue playing.

2 RepliesI wouldn't call it 99% repeat exotic drop rate. I've gotten 2 new ones and about 18 duplicates. So for me, it has been 90%. Still sucks. Oct 30th can't come sooner
