I find it dis-concerning that Bungie is power enabling Iron Banner, because I always find that this rewards the players who play a lot and may not be very good, then the players who are average or can handle their own in crucible but can't play 6-9 hours a day because a job, kids, girlfriend, wife, family issues, whatever it maybe.
I do understand Bungie wants to add variety to Crucible, and trust me I appreciate what the work they are trying to do, and I enjoyed IB in D1. But is this really the best monthly PvP alternative event they can make? I just feel like rewarding people who play too much is a weak excuse for a game-type. Maybe I am wrong, maybe I am the 1% now who finds power enabled PvP dumb...
I would like to hear the communities thoughts!

Absolutely not. But people want to feel special and hold some advantage over others.

2 RepliesEdited by W33DEDPLAGUE: 9/18/2018 6:31:36 PMBecause Destiny is being made for those who treat it as a hobby...at the risk of soundimg like a jerk, if you don't have the time, then maybe it's not for you...they tried to make the game casual and it blew up in their faces. It's not a casual game so casual play doesn't get rewarded...I'm not trying to troll or be mean, it's just the facts of this series...if you want to play it casually, great but dont get upset about being treated as a casual player...people complaining about the fact it's a hobby again is nothing but unnecessary negativity at this point...99% of complaints are "why do I have to play pvp?...or raids?.why is IB power enabled? or why is everything for people who have time to put in?" 99% are complaints from people who dont treat the game as a hobby...personally, I have 2 children under 2 and a full-time job...but I find a way to keep up...you know how? By sleeping 6 hours a night or taking advantage when my wife takes them out shopping and I don't get to do much else besides the game BECAUSE ITS MY HOBBY...they strictly told us they were going back to this model because the casual one wasn't working for them as a company...if you want to play and want all the stuff and to do everything(and to be high enough power to win IB matches), it's basically Destiny or not...if not, that's cool but it is what it is now and you either love it enough to keep up...or you dont...sorry, I'm really not trying to be a jerk but the sooner people realize this, the better

Absolutely!!!

Oh its a dumb gimmick, but on the other hand, its all Iron Banner has ever had going for it to be anything but regular PvP. And after 4 years its kind of painted into the corner as far as ever becoming an actual new mode goes.

Back in D1 when the grind wasn’t as intense as it is now and the power lvl spread was never as high as it is right now being under level in IB wasn’t a hugh disadvantage. Given the way things are now it is but that is not Bungies issue. It’s a player issue. Lvl up or suck it up. Harsh words but realistically there’s no other way to put it.

No, I am 300. Didn't buy forsaken

Yes and I suck at PvP.

1 ReplyDisconcerting. Makes you feel uncomfortable. Dis-concerning may mean not being concerned?

3 RepliesThe only other place I’ve seen power enabled is in gambit. It feels backwards though, the higher my light the more damage I take from adds 🤕
-
2 RepliesWhat bungie should’ve done is keep gambit tied to forsaken but let everyone play banner without LL advantages enabled. Seriously us nonforsaken owners are gonna get slapped and they said “all players can participate” my as* Bungie I’d love to see a solo que Bungie employee without forsaken playing iron banner

1 Replyim horrible at PVP, yes it should be power enabled ... Its Iron Banana ... i'll be called trash more than once or twice this week..ahah
-
They should definitely power enabled. Loved it D1 was not happy with vanilla D2 banner. I'm a filthy casual scrub but iron banana is my jam! I don't know why but I love the banner!
-
Brings back great things from D1 People cry. I swear these children . Skill > Power Level
-
Original Iron Banner had Light advantages enabled, they announced well ahead of time Power advantages would be enabled... Bungie is just returning things back to the way they should be, and in doing so encouraging players to buy Forsaken and power up, or get left behind. I see no problem here.
-
I like it this way. Nothing better when you get a game with sweatys higher than you and you rinse em.
-
2 RepliesIt was always like this though. People wanted power to matter again. Don’t like, don’t play. Simple.
-
1 ReplyIf you played Iron Banner in D1 then you must know that it made little to no difference in the actual game play. Bungie used a delta of about 20% of the power level difference so unless the difference was huge it didn't affect TTK at all. This won't be an issue.

1 ReplyFor this particular iron banner I'd say no as people had a shot to exploit a week one bug, giving them the edge in power. Sure we all could've exploited it but we didn't or were too late, heck I know some people that couldn't get the forsaken til recently when they got paid. Just because of the bugs I'd say disable the advantage for this 1 Iron banner, and then turn it back on for every banner following. (Also if they can cancel trials due to bugs then logically they should be able to cancel the decision to make power matter for 1 iron banner)

I agree it is stupid. Because if the gear is not forsaken locked well.... yeah. there is gunna be a problem. Also, the power curve is a lot higher than it would be in D1, because of the Master Work core issue.
