Upvote to leave sleeper alone

As topic says.... I die from it as much as I kill with it. Just deal with it and join in. It’s super fun Have people thought of tracking rockets? They are fire and forget in the right hands. As a matter of interest, is it solo players who want the nerf more so than team players If it is to get a nerf or “changes” guardians will just find another weapon to use, and that’s when the cycle will start, and then where will it end. #leavesleeperalone Edit: This is how it all started back in D1... Don’t let it happen again Edit 2: Great comments guys for and against, remember it’s the best gun for dps from range, just so happens it’s good for the pvp aspect as well. Edit 3: Let’s hope bungie get this right, I mean nerf it for pvp but don’t take away one of the best heavy weapons in the game in pve. Edit 4: So bungie tweeted about the sandbox team looking in to POSSIBLE changes. Had some suggestions from you guys. Change the heavy ammo economy for gambit, maybe one heavy drop per round. Only allow heavy to drop when the primeval spawns in. Have heavy ammo taken away when you invade. Over 500 upvotes wow guys this is great.   • To be honest, the nerf is only going to remove aim assist for it, and most bosses in the game don’t need pin point accuracy to hit them, this is more of a nerf to the pvp side rather than pve.

    • The gun isn't a problem in any mode except gambit. If there's a problem with invaders in gambit being too strong its because of the characteristics of the invasion mode itself, not the sleeper. As long as invaders have wallhacks with infinite range that persist all the time, they will feel OP whatever they are using. Is sleeper a problem in normal crucible or any other mode? No, its not. Do you think the calls for nerfs will stop here? No, they will target whatever invaders are using because the problem is the advantage the invader has and not the gun itself. I'm awful at normal pvp and i regularly get 4 invasion kills in gambit. If something is a problem in only one mode, maybe the mode needs adjustment and not the gun.

        Cmon guys chill I’m not really for nerfs either but this isn’t even really a nerf it’s just bringing down the aim assist a little everyone’s got their panties in a bunch because something didn’t go their way lol

        • Oh look, everyone is freaking out. Per usual in this community. Bungie has already stated that they are not outright nerfing the weapons damage. That they are instead looking at other ways to tweak the weapon so that it isn't as powerful in Gambit. It's called approaching from a healthy game design perspective. If something is so powerful, has no skill curve and ends up being a use-or-be-abused case; it's unhealthy. It needed to be fixed. At least with other Linear Fusions you have to hit the Head. That in itself is skill gap.

        • The reality is, the gun is a linear fusion rifle and an exotic. They are meant to be good at range, the trade-off vs a sniper is that they have charge time and consume heavy ammo. So body shots should kill other players in crucible. The trade-off is that your shots need to be on point. The only place they should consider changing the sleeper is the aim assist, or whichever mechanic helps your shots stay on target. I have made kills with it that should have clearly missed based on sight alignment significantly more than a sniper rifle.

          • The nerf is fine. Its to aim assist not damage. it can still kill with one shot but takes more accuracy. if you play with aim assist off then you are good we just have to adjust to the change of aim assist. and in reality we shouldn't even have it in a game. its more of a handy cap than a blessing/Assist. Think about it having a good team that knows you are running simulation they would rather jump across your cross hairs and have that assist move towards them than having to kill their MVP who can take you down. For me this is not a nerf but a buff to the player. However this is my opinion. (yes i am solo and yes I have a team) I do both when ever.

            • The sleeper stimulant is considered an extremely powerful weapon, it’s supposed to melt and decimate, granted you aren’t using sentinel codex to protect yourself. The sleeper stimulant is built to be that one weapon that you can kill at any range, but there are a few flaws to this weapon 1) Accidentally kill yourself 2) The ADS time is slow 3) Since this weapon requires charge, any form of flinch can make you miss your target, wasting the shot 4) it’s already been nerfed I don’t feel like the sleeper needs to be nerfed because it’s not even the strongest weapon with critical hits. The sleeper with no Buffs deals 900 critical The Whisper with no Buffs deals 1190 Critical Depends on how well you hit the player either in the body or head. But the stimulant doesn’t need to be touched....

            • It is an exotic heavy weapon. It is supposed to be powerful. Just like if you are in the blast radius of a rocket, you get melted. Bungie already nerfed the damage on it. Quit whining and learn to dodge

              • They are just dropping aim assist. I dont know why everyone is so bent out of shape about it Ive used sleeper in Gambit, and honestly, I have a VERY large box to shoot and it takes relatively no skill to do so. Meaning, i point below their name and they are dead.

                Don't ruin the gun just because of one game mode, the sleeper is widely used throughout the entire game. Everyone that plays Gambit has access to a sleeper "use it". Stop winning, I get merked all the time by the inaugural address or what ever it's called in pvp but I don't care it's good for the game. I love the sleeper standoff, even though I lose most of the time I use my sleeper in Gambit mainly for the prime evil, killing you guys with it is just a added perk.lol I too get my fair share of death by sleeper, but I do not think it deserves to be nurfed, if anything add more time to the heavy ammo refill so ppl will start to save the sleeper ammo for the prime evil. I think that will solve most of the problem

                • the problem with what you are saying is that your forgetting that when you invade onto the other players play area in gambit you are able to see where they are so people with sleeper are able to pre-charge their gun meaning once the other person steps out they instantly die, and with tracking rockets you are still able to try and dodge them by stepping behind a wall or just finding some kind of cover to hide behind (that being you see the rocket coming. also another problem is that some players (mostly the new players) they may not have sleeper yet so they aren't able to jump to the same playing field as the 1-4 people using it in on the other team but what you say about other "people just finding another weapon to use" won't really happen there will still be people using the sleeper they will just have to be more accurate with your shot but with that means some players won't hit those shots anymore and then will move to another weapon that and still compete against it.
