Bungie, what is you beef with this weapon? We’ve had this gun in this game for 4 years now, and it still sucks monkey cheeks. FFS it doesn’t matter how high you make the little stab it bar in the stat screen, if it’s spread is bigger than the head of an enemy standing more than 10m away from you, it’s useless.
Bungie, you can but as many fancy perks on this gun, but nobody will EVER use if you can’t hit anything with it. Think about it. When’s the last time you were killed in the crucible by the hardlight?
-
1 ReplyDon’t forget the stupid “fundamentals” perk that Hardlight and borealis have. Forces element rotation on interactions using the X/square buttons, including revives. Also defaults back to void upon death. The element should only change when the user wants it to, period.
When’s the last time you were killed in the crucible by the hardlight?
Because PvE?
-
Agreed

1 ReplySeems I might have to reconsider this then. As it is I quite liked it. So much so I recently performed an infusion on mine. Juries out. A Suros dropped so I’ll have to give that a run
-
12 RepliesReduce it's screen shake, I think reducing the overall size of the weapon so it doesn't block so much of your screen would help. Add a new perk that is a combination of sway reduction and high impact reserves. Boom, not trash...probably.
-
In crucible it’s pretty good. Outguns almost anything at close range. Once you get used to the recoil and screen shake, people drop like flies.
-
1 ReplyHardlight was actually good in D1 I dropped so many players with it in pvp. Did good amount of damage in pve. Now these coked up employees at bungie jus keep f-king with the gun its jus absolutely useless. What is the point of the perk no damage falloff when ther is no damage at all. Purple auto rifles do more damage than that gun and that's bullshit
-
2 RepliesI can hit with it, it works. Also just shoot at your targets feet. I don't particularly like having to do that to consistently land bounce shots but it is certainly doable. Oh and yeah it's pretty damn effective.

The screenshaking kickback is like a donkey on cocaine. This is the clear and obvious problem with it. I really don't understand why no one at Bungie has adjusted that down for years. Zues knows I've made enough of these similar threads complaining about it. Really I feel like it should be brought in line with the Omelon Precision archetype. Something like Uriel's Gift or Positive Outlook. It would basically be a long range chainsaw if they made this one change.
-
Dont use it. Problem solved, Close case please.

Burst Fire The -blam!-ing Thing

Hardlight needs the screen shake completely removed, after 4 years why does bungie allow this weapon to shake so much? Hardlight would be amazing if I didn’t have to apply 2-3 mods to have full control of the weapon, even with max stability the screen shake just turns me off. For a gun to shake so much, even the damage is mediocre at best. It shakes so much and damage sucks, its not because of its archetype, that screen shake makes you shoot all over the place.
-
Fun fact: despite the visible shake, it will land far more shots than its bouncing reticle would insinuate. That said, this is only applicable in short to close range engagements. Mid range its scetchy, and you can throw away any long range encounters. With its stability though, it makes a superb hipfire gun.
-
Very true. It could be a great gun if they just didn't give it flipping awful recoil
-
2 RepliesIt’s usefulness isn’t as much its weapon stats, but it’s versatility to be used in nightfall’s to strip shields of any and all enemies. Pair it with a solid hand cannon or sniper and you’ve got it made. You can’t compare it to a Suros, or even an ether doctor, because it isn’t meant for that. Take its literal infinite range: it’s meant to spot targets and tap their shields till it’s down, then pop their head with a sniper. Of course it’ll suck if you don’t use it how it’s supposed to be used; a support weapon.
-
The Hardlight is pretty good in my opinion
-
so true. this weapon through AR buffs and debuffs has always sucked monkeyballs
-
I know, they should just make it good for once.
-
It's crap.
-
1 ReplyWhats the point of having no damage drop off if the -blam!-ing gun keeps spazzing out every time I shoot it
-
It's definitely better than it once was, but even after being buffed so much it's still pretty much garbage.
-
2 RepliesEdited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 9/17/2018 6:21:23 PMI found it useful when one of the heroic modifiers was rotating elemental singes. It’s stability sucks though. I wish it fired slower and was slightly more stable.

All they need to do is get rid of the screen shake! Gives me a headache to use the gun
-
Yeah I gave up on the hardlight the second I found one and tested it out.
