Competitive Matchmaking Change
Hey all, I have a quick update from the Crucible team

In response to this, we’re rolling out changes to dramatically slow down how fast matchmaking expands the acceptable ranges of Glory Rank for opponents. This means finding matches may take longer but you’re more likely to find opponents of similar Glory Rank. These changes are live now. Thanks![/quote]

5 RepliesThe matchmaking is terrible. You cannot get it right, you didn't in D1 and you haven't in D2. The only solution is to stop punishing players so badly. If a team loses the max penalty to ranking loss should be 5. The player who comes top of the losing team should lose no points. Players on a team that someone deserted should lose no points. Just please stop trying to get the matchmaking right, you can't. It's worse now than it was before.

*reads comments * something about solo players getting team shot * why don't solo players get a team then? * team players getting wrecked? GIT GUD... You will always have that game where you are either butchering the other team or you are that team being destroyed. Nobody wants to talk about wrecking the losers because, " THIS TEAM IS BETTER THAN ME!!", sounds more victim and better than. "I KILLED AND WRECKED THAT TEAM, WE DID SOOOO GOOD THAT GAME!" that sounds so arrogant and nobody complains about a good thing. Search the forums for actual people complaining about winning on a substantial basis. We either get less argument with this system or more because similar people are going to be matched and no more easy wins to offset the bad ones. Just sweats 24/7 and complaining due to human nature wanting to be a victim and not so guy bragging about his K/D ratio which only matter in Trials

Bring Back Solo Que, Freelance for PvP, please. That is all i have to say, Bungie has tried to pamper all those kids with outragious demands and the mass still is not happy, though just bring back solo que's so we can meet people and play group que's afterwards.

I do not play it, seems like the trials crew came in cheated their way through it. So why bother, for a gun that is forgotten about anyway.

1 ReplyBring radar back then we can talk :) literally everyone camps, group teamshots, and sits in corners with shotty. Runs when they have live advantage. Shit isnt competitive at all, basically neutering people that are actually good at this damn game. What happened to the good old days? What does the radar have to do with anything?? Crazy how the QP playlists with radar are far more popular than the shit shows known as Competitive and Trials.

Ever since the new matchmaking was implemented I feel like the redrix claymore went from being hard to get to damn near impossible. I managed to get to 1850 points with my team and after this matchmaking change I don’t think I’ve won a game since.

but how does it work if i have a Glory 1900 guy and a glory 100 guy, who should que up? is it an average?? Dependent on the host??

5 RepliesSo me and my mate decided to try trials with two of our other mates who had just got the game a couple of weeks ago. Our first game put us against a team who had over 100 flawless runs. What kind of matchmaking in trials is this? Put teams who go flawless that much against similar teams. Not against people who have never played trials before.

Not gonna lie, I got pissed yesterday. My team of trash PvP players got matched against a team of 2000 elo trials maniacs. We left early totally screwing the 1 dude, we had a 3 stack team. I got a suspension. Funny! Cuz competitive game modes suck and so does the matchmaking.

6 RepliesDestiny has a looooong history of punishing solo and pve-focused play. Redrix grinding was OBVIOUSLY designed with fireteam play in mind. Which passively punishes solo play. Its a sad consequence.

Just had a few horrendously one-sided stompfests where the enemy team had 6-20+ KDs at the end. [url=https://i.imgur.com/PZfZgmY.jpg]This one[/url] was particularly bad. This would make anyone else snap their disc in half, and never play again. It's incredibly demoralising to play matches like this, and not even have them end early because of the ridiculously strict Mercy Rule requirements.

1 ReplyDid you f up quick play when you did this? I've been put in against squads of 4 or more in most matches yesterday and today, and in 4 out of 5 my team starts short handed. Really fun getting slaughtered 10 games in a row because you can't catch up (especially with the idiot players on my teams)

The state of PVP is pretty trash right now, You're either running over the enemy team or getting stopped out there is no thrill no heart pounding action, nothing to keep me interested, nothing to make me want to improve as much as i desperately want Claymore being a solo player means it's out of my reach. i can't solo carry, and i won't magically have amazing synergy with the randoms that are thrust onto me. It's no more or less that absolute trash, why call it competitive if it's not competitive at all it's either i squash them or they squash me. I want a reason to improve and get better and WANT to be in PVP cause it's both fun and challenging but its neither. It's a stupid grind for a gun i want and dont even think is worth the trouble anymore.
