So I've heard a rumor that our current weapons and armor may not be included in the mod and random rolls update coming in the September update/expansion. This sickens me just a little bit. I'm not ready to part with my Better Devil's and Manannannananannananan SR4 combo, nor will I be when September rolls around. So why is it that we can't update popular weapons from Year 1 going into year 2?? Why am I hearing that I'll have to leave all my favorite weapons from year one behind if I want to progress in year 2?? Are all my masterworked legendary favs only going to be usable in PVP like what happened in the year 1 to year 2 transition in D1, all made useless by power level limits??

once I get a handcannon with explosive rounds and outlaw I'm using that.

Light level will increase on all year one items.. Mods and random rolls will be a year two thing. Who knows what will be good.. just because year one items will not change per rolls, does not mean they will not be useful. This is bungie we are talking about. Changes to weapons will have very little to do with the roll.. if hand cannons get a buff, the better devils would still be in that category. Hopefully they give you a better hand cannon.. that way you are not worried... but I would not go deleting any favorites just yet.. Yes, I am sure for the first x-amount of time year 2 weapons will be better so they will sell the dlc... but the patch to balance that out could bring back some ol favorites like in d1.

2 RepliesNo they probably won’t. But old exotics will be back if you buy it. I am sure down the line gally will be a pre order exclusive. Bungie are the masters at the rope a dope. And I am a dope!

We will probably go over to blue print system again

Edited by Silent Syzygy: 6/13/2018 5:55:34 PMYep it’s been confirmed that all our year 1 weapons will be infusible to the new max power level of 600, but WILL NOT be eligible for the random roll system. So still usable but not as customizable as newer weapons in the dlc. It’s both good and bad news in my opinion. Seeing Gambit gameplay from E3 makes me think that it’s going to be well worth it to try new load outs. At least old weapons will be some what relevant I guess. My Better Devils and Mannanannaananananannaannnnan SR4 will be my main until something better can take their place.

It's just a rumor... no need to be sickened by speculation. (developers have confirmed that this rumor is false and our items are coming with us, btw)

You won't lose your weapons. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/246222413?sort=0&page=0

They will be carried over, we can infuse legendaries and exotics to max light as well.

You must be new here

9 RepliesThis reminded me that they did this in D1, remember how all your “year 1” fear became instantly useless? *immediately stops grinding faction ornaments* Guess you really can’t get attached to your gear in this game. The whole reason I got this game in the first place was because it was supposed to be a 10 year journey with your same character. I didn’t think I’d be starting over every year, no other game does this, what is the point of investing time in your character? Or the ornaments? I’m pissed I spent this weekend trying to get dead orbit ornaments, if I had realized this I wouldn’t have wasted so much time.......

Bungie doesn't value your time, get used to it.

Lol, we did a Trials card with all green and white weapons and still took flawless. Did a melee only, and ability’s only card and still won. META’s don’t matter with skilled teams (if you don’t care about losing KD and ELO but still take flawless. Makes it super fun

“Let the past die . Kill it if you have to “ I see where they are going with this .
-
3 RepliesYep they'll prob just cap off the power level so you cant infuse up to relevant cap. Same as year 2. People will get over it. Especially if new changes to weapons are implemented well.
-
I'm sure current items will be moving forward but still be locked into what they are now.

“The last thing we want to see is for you to look at your weapons and gears and decide that it’s obsolete [therefore we’ll make that decision for you]” -Deej

13 RepliesI think it's a great idea. Takes weapons like the Better Devils and the Mananananannanananan out of the meta, and allows for completely new weapons to take their place. Also, they did this with TTK in destiny 1, didn't they? And look how well that turned out. Better to leave old stuff in the past and let new stuff come in rather than see Better Devils in every Crucible lobby for the next 12 years.
-
4 RepliesWell first of all NO ONE HAS SAID YOU WILL LOSE YOUR WEAPONS. Secondly they SPECIFICALLY SAID MORE DETAILS WILL COME OUT AT E3. Why not hold off on speculation until you have actual information?
-
I hope we lose all our gear, tired of looking at the same shit.
-
Would you rather they re-roll every item in your inventory? Most of the weapons would end up worse than they are now. Unless we get a drastic change to infusion you'll be able to keep your current gear at the latest power levels. But you'll probably end up replacing it all anyway as new gear with good rolls comes along.

10 RepliesIt doesn’t matter anymore. No game does. You know why? Let me tell you. Because Bethesda teased something yesterday. Something that can never be under hyped and no game will steal the spot light of this.
The Elder Scrolls VI, they even had a teaser trailer for it.
if you like your adaptive frame scout rifle with dragonfly, then find a new adaptive frame scout rifle with dragon fly. it will function the same.

3 RepliesI keep hearing about the Mananna or whatever it's called scout. Where does it drop from?
