I do. It was touted as a public event space activity and part of the expansion. 2 weeks later it requires LFG, a minimum of 30 mins randomly searching and tricking blueberries to get your 9 man team together, the highest light level possible, specific weapons and load outs to create a specific team comp, and strong communication to get a single completion.
I see two problems that needed to be fixed before launch:
1- matchmaking for the activity
2- balanced difficulty
We know that at the summit a bunch of streamers told Bungie to raise the difficulty and Bungie listened and did. I have heard streamers saying that they hope it’s not “too easy” once everyone is up to 385. At this point I have seen it failed over and over (never completed) at level 7 by 9 man groups with light level 360-380 so I don’t think we will see the day when a fireteam of 3 385s can stroll in and clear level 7 by themselves. That is the state it needs to be in for it to be what it was billed as. Something people in the open world can join and complete together.
At this point I have seen streamers complete it but they have a huge unrealistic advantage to the rest of the player base who the game is supposedly for. They have direct links to other extremely skilled players, they have access to their whole community for setting up and filling their 9 man team, they get support from their communities to complete all the activities to raise their light, and they play the game as their profession not on off time as a hobby.
I am not anti-streamer but by making them happy and failing to have infrastructure for the 9man teams it’s balanced for Bungie gave their customers an activity that is basically unplayable for the majority of the player population, and that sucks.

UPDATE: Bungie finally talked about E.P. in TWAB. They said they aren’t going to do anything to change its current state. They aren’t adding matchmaking they aren’t tuning it. They are just going to wait for players to get higher light. Well right now teams of 3 have been spamming EP trying to complete a 3man clear. These are the best players at 385. No one could do it until this week when 1 team did it (the very top tier of player the game has to offer GLADD...dude has 3 worlds first titles). So it’s not going to get better over time and without matchmaking it’s going to get worse. If you don’t like the current state of EP right now please tweet at Jacob Benton and tell him about how important it is to help this failed activity.
Oh and yeah I have cleared it with 9 man teams at this point, but the matchmaking to get that together is a horrific experience. Once I get the armor and guns I’ll never touch it again.

3 RepliesI stated this would be the case before their little conference was even over! Streamers do not represent the community. They do this for a living and are in no way, shape or form a representation of the people actually playing. This is why I and MANY others advised Bungie NOT to use their opinions as a basis for balance or feature, buff, nerf decisions. They listened to them anyway with Escalation Protocol and this mess is the end result. What was tuned as being completable by randoms and groups of 6 under levelled or 3 full levelled has become just another toxic event like Trials and the competitive glory list. Here are the things that real players need Bungie. Not that you have any intention of ever actually listening. Glory needs to be SOLO oriented i.e. based on individual performance with a bonus for team win and a penalty for team loss that reduces or adds a multiplier to the individuals score for that match. The TWAB excuse that you don't want to maintain both a group and solo glory rank is frankly nonsense. I doubt anyone, whether in a group or otherwise, will complain when their group looses and they have still progressed because they had a 1.9kd while their team mates had 0.94 and went backwards! At NO POINT should your glory reduce based on things outside of your control such as bad teammates, thrown matches (happens) DDoS etc.etc. There is literally no other multiplayer game out there where the individual player is punished for playing the multiplayer component! Escalation protocol needs to be tuned for fireteams of 3 and randoms. Ideally it should be completable by teams of 6 NOT teams of nine. It's easy and not too much of a hastle to get 4 - 6 randoms in a zone but, ridiculous to have an event (in a public space) that requires raid level comms to complete. The event should be hard but, fun. Not impossible for anyone who hasn't made D2 a full time streaming career! Bungie need to have the courage to do what's right for the majority of their players and NOT just do what the streamers want and hope that this somehow works out.It doesn't as you can clearly see. It's time to grow a pair and tell them that you are tuning it for the players you have not their little elite, toxic brigades. If they can get a super team together of nine and complete it easily then that's not our problem. The rest of us, with lives, will find it just hard enough to be challenging while also not being a complete time sink and toxic cess pool!

2 RepliesYep, can't do the raid because you need six players, now I have to find nine? I was genuinely excited about this actvity thinking it would be an offering for players like myself, dedicated but lacking a fireteam. Only to learn it was just more frosting for the small percentage of players that have dedicated fireteams.

4 RepliesGood game mode but bad implementation. I like the difficulty, game type, level requirements, etc... however getting 8-9 people into session is hard. Random people in the patrols also generally not interested. Maybe because of their power level or awareness, I don’t know. It should work from directory as a selectable activity with matchmaking.

All of D2 is a failed activity.
-
they created it for the streamers. ppl that play all day every day ,run all the tricks to get things done. tricks being , use of all content possible for its max benefit.

2 RepliesI've only attempted it with a 9-man team twice, but we got to level 7 on the first try and beat it on the second. It was fun. Will a 3-man team be able to do it eventually? Yeah, I bet they will, there will be some kind of strat, exploit or cheat that will make it doable, some new power ammo glitch or the return of ammo synths, or some adjustment to the scaling after the next light level increase. I still think there's a way to do it without harassing blueberries, get 9 people into a party chat, get everybody into orbit solo, have the 9 solos fly into the same fast travel zone at the same time, and see if you manage to get two or three in the same instance. If not, fast travel back and forth until you get two together, keep them there, and have seven others fast travel back and forth until one of them gets seeded in. Once you've got 3 seeds, their friends can join on them.

Not even close to something I want to do. Just seems like a random loot chance in a poorly revised open world POE. Highly doubt I’ll even give it another chance when everyone’s light level increases.
-
Agreed. The streamers are paid shills though.

In the sense it failed my expectations, yes. Naturally I understand it is not Bungie's fault I have higher expectations than they can deliver. I would have liked to see multiple difficulties as there are quite many spots on Mars. I would have liked more variation in the types of locations. Now they are just open areas basically. I would have liked to see them on other planets too with different enemies and twists. I would have liked to see accessibility starting from the EDZ newbie and progressing to the maxed light highbie. I would have liked to see rewards matching the effort.

I love it but the chests and set up methods are annoying as -blam!-!!
-
NO. Is difficult and fun

1 ReplyThey defiantly made it into some bs. People are being assholes inviting you to teams then kicking you so they can use you as a host. Hope they make it n activity you have to zone into.

I agree, in Destiny 1 we had oryx's court- could be done with a few players..we had prison of elders with different difficulties for progression..we had archon's forge, which could also be done with a few players..these were all fine, now we have this joke of an "option" for those that can't or don't want to raid? Not even worth the time, might as well grind public events for exotics. Oh, but not to worry, lol, maybe by next year they'll have a horde/wave based mode for up to 3 players- after another 3 DLC's Haha.. step 1-make the complete game, step 2- strip it down, and break into DLC's, step 3- time release "said" content to player base for 2-3 times the cost of the original..not surprised that they are changing weapon slots in September, which I think was their biggest mistake all for PVP lol..after all this time, destiny 1 is so much better, good work guys!

3 RepliesThe only fails I see are that they don't cater for natural fireteam creation, and this is causing issues for some people in that they're being asked to leave a PUBLIC SPACE to cater to those circumventing the team size limit. It should be in an area away from Public Event zones so it doesn't conflict with them. It's a really fun activity even as a power lvl 352, but it should be better accessible to people who want to try it, even if they're not at the "recommend power level"... Again... It's a PUBLIC SPACE. Sure, we could all just be patient and wait until we're at 370/380... But how long is that going to take? Bungie should allow a fireteam of 9 to be pre-made for this event... Problem solved.
-
1 ReplyAs of right now, I’m gonna have to say Yes, it’s a failed activity. The concept was interesting enough, but it’s execution is flawed, the power lv. requirements, the rewards and getting enough players together in order to complete it. Bungie took something that should have been a great mid game activity and tried to make it a end game activity, and as of right now it sits in this very uncomfortable place where it doesn’t cater to anyone.
-
1 ReplyYes and no. You need to be the light level it recommends to be able to have fun in it. It was designed as endgame content. But there is also the 3 fireteam cap which is really bad for this event.
-
5 RepliesI was a little disappointed at how hard it is but kept thinking it’ll all be worth it when I get to 385. If 3 385s can’t beat it and I’m here in week 2 and still 345 then I really feel like I want to cordially ask Bungie to adjust the activity and give those gosh darned youtubers some nice big punches in their stupid youtube bitch faces. But I’m speaking from frustration so any statements I make regarding bitch youtubers or their little bitch faces should not be taken seriously. Bitches.
-
It should've been treated as a separate activity such as Prison of Elders, but with the option of having a fireteam of six to do the activity. Another blunder from Bungie.
-
Love IT! Keep up the good work my dude!!!!!!!
-
I helped my son through Warmind when we first spawned in to the open world EP was triggered. He couldn’t make it to Anna as he was continuously beaten down for a few minutes. Then the ogre spawned..... It should have its own location away from the world events.
-
1 ReplyWould these be the same whining streamers who abandoned the game not so long ago?
-
2 Replies"the highest light level possible, specific weapons and load outs to create a specific team comp, and strong communication to get a single completion" That's kinda the point, it's supposed to take teamwork and be hella hard. Also, Warmind has only been out for a week or two, most people are no where near max light so we just run away because being killed over and over by Hive with 3-4 other guys that never revive you and are also underpowered is not fun. Your point about needing matchmaking is totally valid though, you should be able to make a 6 or 9 man fireteam for social spaces for EP, or they need to make the strength of enemies scale to the amount of guardians doing the activity.
-
9 RepliesI'm inclined to say it isn't by any way a failed activity but a demanding one. Once one gets to be able to play at higher levels with equally leveled players I believe the activity must be great and fun to play. Until then... it's grinding time. Everybody said D2 was too easy and without any objective to pursuit. Leveling up to be able to play EP until level 7 AND beat it, is one hell of a goal to pursuit.
-
1 ReplyI think if Bungie had provided an effective, but still somewhat convenient way to get to 380, it would be a completely different story. I haven't gotten to any higher levels yet, but an activity being difficult is okay with me, provided that its rewarding and fun.
