Game Director Christopher Barrett:
Hey, everyone. A few weeks ago, we published a Dev Update with some details about our plans for Destiny 2. With the first of those downloads out the door, we’re following up on the conversation with a clearer outlook on when more features and content will arrive in the game. This roadmap contains a series of updates that are scheduled to land in the weeks and months to come.
Everything you’ll find below will be delivered to every player of Destiny 2. Some of these delivery dates may change, but everything you see listed here is being worked on the by the team. While there are larger projects in development, these are the game enhancements you’ll find in your immediate future. If any of these deployments change, we’ll let you know.

Edited by bobseiji: 2/9/2018 10:13:42 AMHi Bungie. I will be back when D2 becomes actual D2. Not D1.5. I am very disappointed with the game in so many ways and stopped playing while ago and won't be back till D2 becomes D2. Honestly I don't miss playing D2 at all. I don't think bringing back missing features from D1 will help that much but, really, good luck.

1 ReplyTL;DR:So basically 'come back in May'. It's not like I have enough vault space left to be bothered chasing any more season 2 'content'. No point chasing anything in game really. If I hadn't been daft enough to buy the season pass, I would probably waited for the week 1 hot fix for D2 Year 3 and read the patches notes to see how the game had come along. Maybe I just fell out of love with the franchise, but D2 has been disappointing in so many ways, and looking at the roadmap is at least a partial admission of the things that were misjudged during development. If Bungie had released D2 as if it were a 4 world content patch for D1 just in a reworked, re-balanced, sandbox, they could have saved themselves a lot of hassle, had a bunch of happy customers and so on. They might even have been forgiven for putting a 'classic area' or two into some side quest type DLC. A few cheap wins on the monetisation front. (we might have been able to see some of the more palette-swappy stuff a but more easily but who would care rushing around the court of oryx or Archon's forge, or even grimoire chasing?) Oh well, here we are then. D2 on a long haul back from it's current state toward something that might pass muster by late 2018/early 2019. At least we won't have to worry about D3 diverting resources from D2 because at this rate I can't see D3 making it to a Sep 2020 release. I would certainly think twice before buying a Bungie game in it's first year ever again. R

76 RepliesEdited by Vampire Nox: 2/1/2018 4:24:11 PMI read Bungie's whole "roadmap". Holy. Shit. These guys are completely incompetent as a development studio. - Nothing to fix Players feeling weak as shit. - Nothing to beef up weapon damage. - Nothing to correct the course of "balance" making your game a boring slog. - Nothing to fix the lackluster and extraordinarily shallow loot pool. - Nothing to give players actual choice in how to build a character. - Nothing to fix that Armor has no effect other than appearance changes. - Nothing to make Supers feel... super. - Nothing to address that your PvP is a shit-tier slog of a slow-moving train wreck. - Nothing to address the Eververse being the end-game. - Nothing to fix your atrocious Peer-to-Peer lag issues. - Nothing to actually widen the sub-Class Skill trees. - Nothing to address the fact that it's taking you almost half a year (and for some "improvements", far longer than that) to reintroduce elements that were already present in the first game. It's already written code, that you're having to struggle to work into the -exact same game engine-!? - Nothing to address that weapons are boring, and there's nothing to "grind" for in the loot. Once you're received one weapon, you can immediately destroy every other copy of that weapon, because they will be no different in any way. This is on top of the fact that the loot pool is so shallow, you can receive upwards of six copies of one weapon in a few hours of play time. I mean; am I -really- supposed to be stoked to receive my 33rd Uriel's Gift!? - Your Players have been screaming for the return of 6v6 crucible play since before D2 launched. What do you do? Bring it back, but not as a PvP feature, oh no. You're bringing it back as -an Event-. Not a permanent play list choice. As a timed Event. Which means you will take it away again. Your Players (what few remain), are literally -screaming- for 6v6. And you make it; A. Singular. Event. Are you all that ignorant!? You guys at Bungie have literally -NO- idea what you're doing, and are still blatantly ignoring your Players. Your population will continue to drop, until your hyper-focus on the Eververse and "balance" will leave you with only a couple thousand or a couple tens-of-thousands of players per day maximum. Once population drops that low, there's no way your ever-so-precious MTX's will -ever- fund Luke's chili-dog habit. Bungie has become the worst developer in this industry, and they're too blind and arrogant to see that they're only killing their own studio.

15 RepliesWarframe can get these sort of changes done in 2 weeks. IN ONE UPDATE.
-
You forgot to metion that you will delete forum posts when it's about complaints around the worst game bungie has ever developed!
-
Wow, so I’m going back to D1. Thanks for all those great changes coming that I don’t care about.
-
10 RepliesAnyone else noticed they removed all lethalvipers posts and comments by the look of it! Again more proof this company is a joke!
-
1 ReplyIt’s 2018 and D2 is 30fps, wtf is wrong with you guys?
-
Edited by Eqitx: 2/8/2018 9:07:16 AMTltr: stick to mhw guys, nothing worth of your time for the entire 2018 😂
-
5 Replies5 months already and no sandbox update. I know it's coming but we should of had a couple already. Also why did it take you this long to start communicating? Try being honest from the start about your lackluster sequel. You must think your shit don't stink
-
1 ReplyCan't wait for the next 20mins of gameplay. So that I can play it over and over again for hours to get 'lots of loot'. Who knows maybe this expansion I can go to that mountain... I'll be following Reddit from now on at least I know posts like this won't be deleted.

Bungie needs to consider the practice of constant updating instead of big patches. When something is ready put it in the game. Players who payed for the game don't want to wait months for the game to be fun to play. Other games do this and manage to retain players and it keeps the game fresh.
-
1 ReplyAnyone think masterworks are a waste of time and no real interest in going out their way to get them ?
-
That's not nearly enough to keep people interested, really disappointed, shall move on to other things like everyone else has
-
You guys have lost the plot🙄
-
Hey since your player base is shrinking daily and this roadmap is not going to improve that, could you decide on a period of time to take the game offline and at least implement dedicated servers? I could tell you at least a dozen ways to make this economically feasible and it starts with separating the company from all the employees that are not helping to make this game better as well as separating from the individuals who made the poor decisions that got it to the state it’s currently in. It’s a huge step in the right direction: being technologically current and relevant. I guarantee people will come back.
-
Just a question DMG, why can’t I load your game data? The one that does says you haven’t played since Dec? Not really throwing shade but it’s like Deej trying to talk about the game and couldn’t even get threw the easy prison of elders. Just saying.
-
Since I have the 100 dollars shit game all the updates are shit fire everyone the decision where and are stupid

6 RepliesCommunity: "FIX THE ******* GAME YOU *******!!!" Bungie: "We're fixing it. Here's what we plan on doing in the future." Community: "Too late! You haven't done exactly what we wanted immediately so we're all saying we're leaving but actually coming back in fall only to complain about the new sandbox and every change you made for the better! Goodbye!"
-
I don't want to be rude, but could you bring back the last word?
-
As Bevis once stated so clearly that he became ‘legend’: I need more coffee for my Bung (Bungie) Hole :)
-
Bung quit being jerks
-
When will a full new raid come out?
-
There is no mention of being able to choose which game type for pvp. This is a very requested and needed change.

8 RepliesTo bungie: I'm not sure what everyone else read but that looks like we got some quality gameplay headed our way, this and the go fast update might be something that revitalizes the game. To the community: Try not to crucify me for saying that.
