As if grinding for a SPECIFIC WEAPON OR ARMOR wasn’t enough, It’s illogical to grind just for a CHANCE to get a SPECIFIC WEAPON OR ARMOR that has FUNCTIONAL/COMPETITIVE/DECENT stats.
Because when unintended god rolls happen, guess what else comes with it? Complaints that it’s too good and that it’s not fair that those with said god roll has the advantage due to sheer luck. Then comes the NERFS and everyone gets salty.
It’s vapor in the wind. Vanity.
Instead: Keep it One and done.
It’s self-destructive to add yet another gambling aspect to the game. Literally that’s the most shallow, time consuming, yet addicting aspect of this franchise. It covers up all the other flaws that Bungie needs to be improving in.
Let me break it to y’all.
You DO NOT NEED to have ONE VIDEOGAME taking up ALL of your free time. There are other games to play. Other activities to do. Other areas in your lives that you can be improving on.
It’s shitty just to grind for a coveted weapon only to get a shitty roll.
Bungie, do not bring back random rolls.

4 RepliesHaving fixed perk weapons with a limited supply is stupid. Having exotics with fixed perks with everything else is stupid. Having weak boring gear in a loot based game is stupid. Having less space magic in a space magic game is stupid. Basically, Destiny 2 is stupid.

Rick Rolled is much better.

1 ReplyI don’t think a lot of people know what real “gambling” is. Ex. “I had to quit my job. I never knew if I was going to be doing something I liked. It was to much of a gamble.”

13 RepliesEdited by John DOH: 1/16/2018 3:43:12 PMSolar burn was on heroic strikes last week in Destiny 1, and opening a Vanguard package landed me an LDR sniper with solar damage, mulligan, triple tap, explosive rounds, and the Ambush scope. Proceeded to have the time of my life just grinding strikes with it, grinding for a great Imago Loop/Baron's Ambition/Darkblade's Spite roll. That entire previous sentence is impossible to do in Destiny 2.

1 ReplyEdited by Swiftlock: 1/16/2018 7:18:45 AMSome of the best moments in D1 for me came from landing a badass Eyasluna with Outlaw + Luck in the Chamber, or a Hopscotch Pilgrim with Headseeker and Braced Frame. It's the same reason why looter games like Diablo and Borderlands are celebrated. They're loot-based games where the intrigue comes from chasing awesome loot - (and good in-game renditions of their lore.) In D2, that magic is gone because our gear boils down to cookie-cutter carbon copies of each other that lead to us getting mountains of duplicates - which isn't fun or interesting for many players. You can make pretty PvP maps and throw hordes of mobs in front of us and put in more strings of texts for lore and such, but there needs to be a hook to keep players coming back if the game is going to be successful within the genre it represents. And if it won't be random drop rolls, then it needs to be something robust like grinding for better mods so we can craft our own rolls. Because perk rolls aren't just about what works in PvP. It also opens up different ways to approach PvE. And that's something D2 needs right now. Very badly.

1 ReplySounds like loot based games are not for you based on a few things you mentioned in your post.

1 ReplyEdited by FIRST AXIOM: 1/16/2018 12:11:33 PMAs somebody who loved random rolls and wants to see them return, I AGREE! DO NOT BRING THEM BACK. Bring back a sense of customisation to make our guns UNIQUE, Go back and make all the perks more Powerful! No more of this bullshit Dragon fly crap we want fatebringer back. Put perks like Explosive rounds and snapshot back into the middle column perk row like D1. High impact reserves need to actually make a damn difference, making your last 4 bullets do an extra 1 point of damage is not even noticeable and it doesnt change the time to kill at all. Making it go from 1 extra point to 6 is what needs to happen. It would allow u to kill in one less bullet. I Remember the days of owning a scout rifle with crowd control, reactive reload AND explosive rounds all on the same damn gun and it was still considered a weak gun in destiny one when compared to other top tier guns BUT it was extremely fun and it was competitive when landing all headshots. What we need is guns to drop with a small selected set of base perks (like we have currently) but we also need to work towards upgrading the gun. We should be given the choice to level for select perks of our choosing. These perks would include the scope type on the gun and the barrel options. Also have it that you need to find high level mods that only drop from nightfalls and raids and strikes and crucible ect that give you extra perk bonuses. That way random rolls would never screw you over because you could work towards applying a certain perk mod of your choice. Getting the perk mod would take time instead but at least once you got it you can use it as you like. Have it so that there are two seperate mods. Mods that do stuff like Cosmetic change and small stat bonus ( essentially just a masterwork upgrade ). And other mods with a NOTICEABLE perk change. Perks like, Icarus, Surplus, Take a knee, Field scout, Life support, clown cartridge, last resort, danger close ect. This way we have unique guns to build our legend on and we avoid the whole random bullshitness of relying on RNG to get a competent weapon. Right now i cant tell the difference between the green Cydonia Autorifle in D2 that has no perks and any autorifle in the game of the same archtype WITH PERKS. And that is a massive problem!

7 RepliesYou’re argument is as bad as Bungo crying that it’s “too hard” to make content with the engine they -blam!-ing created 😳❄️🍼

1 ReplyBy that logic nothing should be random which is dumb.

1 ReplyYou’re complaining about random rolls in a game about... random loot. I mean, it was really fun in D1 and honestly I never had a problem with god rolls because I obviously had something to counter it. Jeez, you’re like a bunch of footballers that go down screaming as soon as they’re tapped, even a little, on the foot.

5 Replies"I don't have the god roll, it's not fair!", is not a complaint that should be taken seriously by the devs, other players, the mothers of the devs and other players, their pets, their friends, other relatives, world leaders, Jesus Christ and the Almighty God himself.

7 RepliesThis post is a bit like vapor in the wind.... The real problem with Destiny is that after random rolls were taken out of the game, it exposed just how boring, repetitive and poorly designed the game really was. So, there needs to be something to this game, and if finding a god roll isn't going to be one of them, what should it be? What is the alternative? Being bored sounds like the alternative. How can you create and maintain a "social game" where people are bored? You can't. This game dies if random rolls aren't brought back.. because i just don't see Bungie coming up with a better solution to their design.

8 RepliesI’ll argue that D1’s strength was not depth or content, it was that it was highly replayable. There was always something to grind for and now that d2 has taken out that aspect of it, we see that the the game is hollow inside. Sure we could go play another game, many of us have and will continue to do so, but bungie doesn’t want that and you shouldn’t want that either. The more of us here, means we get a better overall experience. A game we are all hyped for, activity in he tower, views on twitch and YouTube, a busy lfg, and active community as a whole raiding , doing strikes, and playing pvp. You shouldn’t want us to leave.
