Who is not happy with time limit on nightfall?

I may be alone in this subject but nightfall use to fun. You could take your time and progress with a group of friends talking and having a good time. Now it feels more like a job and a rush job with some modifiers. I hope bungie can add in the next few patches to remove the time limit or at least make it where it is not a rush job. If bungie wants us to stay around, they need to make things like nightfall more enjoyable. Edit: Thank you guardian's for all your input. It is great to see so many new ideas to make the NF more fun. It is also nice to see many of you being polite about it and not so negative on a post.

  • I don’t like the timer. It turns the nightfall’s I loved in D1 into a pathetic jump‘n run - if I want to play Mario Bros I just do, no need to turn Destiny into this. There is no tactical play needed, simply because you don’t have time. And don’t get me started on limited revives... A Nightfall and even a Strike should be difficult and one should wipe a few times - but because your enemies kick your butt and not because of some phony difficulty added in a complete artificial way.

  • Too much work for lazy Bungie to challenge you with enemies. Easier for them to just kill you with the timer 'cause you couldn't find enough of their silly hoops to jump through.

  • It's to prevent more solo players from running it. Really all they would have to do is add matchmaking to it but nah, that's too hard.

        • I don't care for the timer as it forces you to not engage some enemies but the nightfalls are not that hard if you know where all the anamolies are.

            I liked soloing them in D1. I would like to be able to consistently do that again in D2. I was also not normally the type of player to speed run strikes. I like killing everything, seeing everything and generally taking my time. As such, I would like the timers to go. I thought the black spindle strike was a nice touch and it had a timer, but that was an optional strike with a decent reward.

          • I don't like it. I don't use a mic, so don't party up very often. I liked when I could try and solo the nightfall before. Now, it's too stressful to try and solo a nightfall, so I don't bother.

          • I totally agree with you. Hate the time Limit and as a result dont play the Nightfall. In D1 my friend and I would grind the Nightfall till the end with sweaty hands. Now with the time limit, the frustration is not worth it.

          • I have no problem beating it. I've done the nightfall with 10 minutes left this week. It's just a stupid addition. If you want something to be a challenge, throw some difficult mechanics in. It doesn't have to be about timers or reduced damage or being 1 shot.

          • Not me. I played the first year of Destiny 1 and dropped the game when they reset everything and introduced the "taken." I used to solo NF every week on every character, it was about the only way to get exotic drops at that time. I would like to solo NF again but not with a timer.

          • Nope, I hate that bloody timer. I would much prefer either make it insanely hard with double or triple the enemy’s and bullet sponge bosses, or the original boot to orbit mechanic. This stupid timer only forces you to speed run the whole strike.

              I feel like the Time Limit is pointless. Maybe it would work better if it were exclusively in the Prestige NF, but regular NF? Nah. Some people say it’s there for strategizing, teamwork, and some other irrelevant bullshit reasons. The timer doesn’t make the NF more fun, it’s just damn annoying. “Oh yay the same strike with increased difficulty, no elemental burns, and now with a time limit! Oh what’s that?! I gotta find and jump through hoops for more time?! Or I gotta be The -blam!-ing Flash and find all those annoying as glowing cubes to get more time?! YIPEEE” I mean, did people not strategize and use teamwork in D1? Imagine having to do Nightfall Shield Brothers with Solar Burn or Omnigul with Arc Burn in under 10 - 15 minutes. You can jump through as many hoops and shoot as many data clusters as you want, I can almost guarantee you’re going to be wiping more than a man with IBS after eating Taco Bell.

              • timers are stupid. it's a lazy way to increase difficulty and I'm against it in every game it appears in. I don't like it in Destiny, I don't like it in XCOM, I don't like it in any game. Developers use it to force interesting gameplay, so they say, but all it does is force the player to rush and play recklessly. I don't like being forced to play a game a certain way, I find it annoying and the antithesis of fun

                    The time limit length is the nuisance. In D1 we had 30 minutes to complete the weekly bounty. Compounding the problem is the placement of the anomalies in this week's Nightfall. Either you have to play the Nightfall many times to master the locations of the anomalies, or you have to watch a youtube video many times. The second choice is not as effective as the first choice. I ran the Nightfall once this week with a group that completed it on the first attempt. Unfortunately, I still did not get a 300 Warlock bond as a reward. My Warlock has been stuck at 304 since September! The possibility of getting that Warlock bond was the only reason to run the Nightfall. I have no desire to rush the activity and frantically search for anomalies, so I will not run it again this week.

                  • Honestly between the timer and the fact that there is no reason to run the nightfall I don’t even bother. Not much point and while I don’t find it hard I also don’t find the timer fun. I preferred nightfall’s when staying alive was the objective, not finishing as fast as possible.

                    If they want to make it challenging then take it back to Year 1 Destiny Nightfall where if everyone dies you go back to Orbit.
