PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE MAKING DECISION
This has been something I’ve been thinking of a lot lately. The main thing is this: I want to be able to play more Japanese games, some friends are on PS4, and my favorite game is final fantasy VII and I want to play the remake; But also I REALLY like PCs and building and everything. If I got a PC, I’d ask for individual parts as presents. If I got a PS4 I would be able to get more than just a console. The PC I would end up building would most likely have a GTX 1060 6GB, Ryzen 5 1600, and 16GB ram. If I got a PS4 I’d get the
battlefront II bundle and some other games. I’m kinda leaning towards PS4, but I just love PCs so much. Also I own an Xbox one, just to include that. If this gets popular or something ill include a PCPP link with all the parts. Thanks for reading this and helping me decide.
Edit: just wanted to clarify, I do own a desktop that is old, and a laptop with a 950m. If I were to get a PC I would build a good gaming rig, which I don’t have.

1 ReplyIt really boils down to your personal choice, but there are many benefits to choosing a pc. Better graphics, larger game library, no online fees, you can replace parts whenever, use whatever software you want, do whatever you want. You're not limited to the chosen software and hardware by Sony. You make the choice. You can also emulate FF7. Again, it's really your choice, but the pc has a lot of benefits the console doesn't have yet, or may never have.

PC, no contest. Much bigger game library, much more utility.
-
You can build a pc anytime. If you want to play JRPGs, get a ps4.
-
All I know is the final fantasy 7 remake won't be exclusive. In the trailer it said "coming first to PlayStation".

9 RepliesThe fact that someone would even pick PS4 is an insult. Willing to be those people are broke, and wish they could own a gaming PC. Obviously nothing comes close to windows PC’s because microsoft is king. But hey? wanna play naughty dog games instead? wanna play them once and never play them again? you wanna beat yourself to death after climbing over and over and realizing all PS exclusives suck?

Im in the same dilemma, i currently own an xbox, with my xmas bonus at work i could buy the ps pro and the upgraded xbox and in the other hand a friend is selling his gaming laptop, impressive specs but it's like 1200 bucks, so yeah, still undecided
-
I'd say pc, unless you're looking for specific exclusives on psn. Then again, there's some pretty decent exclusives on pc as well.
-
Depends, do you want Bloodborne?
-
Is this even a question, my man?
-
Depends which one has more of your friends playing it that you can join.
-
Pc because long term investment

I literally build the pc you're planning on building a month ago. 1080p sweet spot in my opinion, haven't found anything that won't reach around 60fps on high settings. If you'll use it for work too, it's nice to to have word stop responding like it did on my old laptop.

23 RepliesLooking at getting a pc as well, what should I look for. Right now will be for pubg but want it future proofed for a couple of years. Get in now or wait?
-
3 RepliesYou should watch Sony's PS4 event from yesterday and see if any of the upcoming titles interest you or not.
-
Definitely go with a PC, before you regret it.

Use the platform that has your friends on it and the games you want to play. If that means pc, get a pc. If that means PS4, get a PS4.
-
1 ReplyI'd be surprised if FFVII:R doesn't come to PC at some point. It's really gonna come down to exclusives. I'd go PS4 myself but I don't do much PC gaming beyond Civ anymore so that's just me.

2 RepliesSomething i didn't know until after i built my PC is that there's a shit ton of japanese games on the platform. Maybe even more than on PS. The only reason i still own my PS4 is to play Japanese games. Personally i hardly use my PS4 while i use my PC for practically everything. It's also fairly obvious that the PC is the better investment.

1 ReplyWhile a gaming PC is pretty fantastic it sounds like your would get more enjoyment out of a PS4. While some Japanese games get on PC its not a lot of them. Recently there has been more but you will still get way more on the PS4. Us on PC are still begging to get our hands on bloodborne lol.

1 ReplyYou don't need a pc to create a steam account and browse the storefront. I wanna say p4 based on your thing about JP games. But go look at steam and gog. I've never looked at JRPGs on there.
-
Gaming PC definitely
-
PS4 for JRPGs.
-
If you wanna play Japanese games get a PS4
-
PS4 is probably what you want for JRPG's and stuff
